Description
======Description======

Ever wish you could go questing in regular clothes, but still have the protection that armor offers? If so, this mod is for you.

This mod duplicates all the articles of clothing (without replacing any of them), and gives them the stats of Dragonscale armor. Not only that, but it also reduces the weight and increases the value.

======How it works======

So to use this mod, you need to have the clothes you want to make and a soul gem in your inventory. If you have the dragon smithing perk unlocked, you can then head over to a tanning rack and create your item.

If you don't have the clothes you want, don't worry! I've put a chest in-game that has all the clothes that would be needed to turn them into mythical clothes. The chest is located just north of Redoran's Retreat. You could also go to The Radiant Raiment in Solitude and buy the clothes there.

You could also find Mythical Clothes as random loot. This way if you're not a smith, you can just go out looking for your next piece of armor. You start finding the clothes around level 50 and you will find more and more as you rise in level.

If you can't find the soul gems, you should go check out this mod which increases the number of soul gems that court wizards and general goods stores sell by fourfold. It also increases the number of soul gems in random loot by threefold. This includes loot found on bandits.

======Requirments======

For this mod to work at all, you need Dawnguard and Dragonborn (and Skyrim, of course).

If you don't have any of the DLC, go subscribe to the Vanilla Edition

The Heavy Armor edition can be found here.

wish there was a special edition version of this mod, no good clothing armor mods for SE. Best option I can find has all clothing give 5-10 armor at base, Capping at base 20 armor for a full set. and is well under even hide/fur armor ratings despite being switched to count as light armor ,so still not really worthwhile to wear "clothes" over armor.

Cool Idea! I appreciate all the work! Like some others have also asked for, if you could make it level scaling, that would be amazing!

Could you just also make clothes that make your specific level like if your level 5 and you only have the steel smith perk unlocked, you can make your clothes as strong as steel armor! and so on with other smithing perks!

It is sad I cannot do this for armor ratings lower than Dragonscale at Start of game

Well I had the same issue that a person from January 18th had, where the mages hood was all the same colors. But since it was fine for you, not for him, and not for me. I suspected maybe it had something to do with not being a typical human/elf type, since I'm a Khajit. I'm guessing the person from the 18th was either a Khajit like me or an Argonian, I used a Respec mod that allowed race change out of suspicion and Khajit and Argonian will end up having a lightly-tanned hood. At least it did with my dark mage hood. I don't know if all mage hoods are like that though without the mod for the Khajit and Argonian. So maybe it's the game and not the mod, I dunno. But great mod, love it, my greatest gripe about being a light-armored magic thief, was that the light armors after Elven were so ugly. This is really appreciated, for being able to wear the 0-stat clothing I used to like wear for casual purposes in the game, and being able to use them for battles as well.
