How to become a Supercop
Update: as mentioned in the comments by other user, the trick still works. Just temporary disable Steam Cloud saves. I didn't test it on new version though.

After playing this great game for a couple of days I personally don't find it's system of dice and skill checks fair. To explore all content and possibilities you have to replay the game over and over maxing different skills. I searched the web and found the way to cheat max skills at the beginning without much effort. If you want to play Disco Elysium as it was intended by developers - don't read this guide and don't try this method. If you don't have much time or want to at least KNOW all the skillchecks - try my method.

Start a new game. Save immediately after you can. Locate your save file. On Windows 10 it's in C:\Users\(your user name)\AppData\LocalLow\ZAUM Studio\Disco Elysium\SaveGames
Copy .zip archive just in case. Extract the file ending in ".2nd.ntwtf.json". Open it with a Notepad. Search for line "INITIAL_DICE". You gonna see this:
"AbilityModifierCauseMap": {
"INT": [
{
"type": "INITIAL_DICE",
"amount": 6,
"explanation": "Intellect base",
"skillType": "NONE",
"modifierCause": null

"INT" means Intellect. Below gonna be similar parts of code labeled PSY, FYS and MOT. Those are 4 basic skill trees.
Change "amount": 6 (there gonna be a number you choose when you created your character) to any number you like. Personally I tried 20 for every skill tree and I think that's enough for a whole game. If you want just a little headstart and not heavy on cheating - choose 6 for all four skill trees.

Save the file and put it back into save archive. Just drag and drop your previously extracted and modified ".2nd.ntwtf.json" back into save game .zip. If you zip the new archive with the same name yourself - it won't work. Drag and drop! Load your save and enjoy!

P.S.: Even with all skills at 20 there's a 3% chance to fail a dice roll on skillcheck. So don't forget to quicksave often!

while the comments are correct re: content related to failed checks, there's also a ton of input in the game that isn't check based, all of which you miss unless you have a high enough stat. thank you for the workaround!

OP claims that this is the fastest way to experience all content, but does not realize that failures create alternate, interesting endings to questlines and simple conversations, and do not mean you are "losing" the game, just dedicated to a certain approach and character. It's an RPG. By using this exploit you are not getting all of the content, but rather experiencing a sliver of the game.

i don't get why people say this takes the fun out of it. Plenty of successes are short term gains and long term failures. Some content actually gets locked out since you succeed and act like a prick. Or the success is properly realizing your a failure and a pathetic person.

After that game doesnt want to load save. Its loading for unlimited time and nothing happens.

I did take kinda annoyance with the claim that system is "unfair" since this game is all about seeing both failure and successes, meaning you actually miss stuff if you succeed all the time. That said, I do understand desire to at least once want to play "what if I have 6 in all stats" playthrough, but I do think this is game where it might be worth to nerf your stat to -1 just to see what happens :D

I'm not sure I'd have been happy doing this on my first playthrough, but I did for my second and it was well worth it. no way I'd have replayed all those times to see it all, not even for such a good game.

You can't really see it all though of course, there is stuff you'd still need a few playthroughs to get.

I made this work with a quicksave, thanks a bunch OP and @Vanger. As for the implications, no, I don't think there's a whole lot of good stuff behind failed checks. There is, but not much.

My main gripe is that failing passive checks makes the detective just stand there, silently. This also gates you from exploring more options. Not cool. I get that you can't see ALL the content, but I'm all for seeing MOST of the content.

For me it works only with quicksave files. Autosaves or manual saves doesnt work :lunar2020ratinablanket:

Keep in mind, "To explore all content and possibilities" you actually need to fail rolls in this game. The game does not gate content behind successful rolls, it gates content behind both failed and succeeded rolls. It is a game about failiure, some of the best content happens after failed rolls.
