Bargain Quest + Expansions

Description

Bargain Quest is a game of adventure and capitalism for 2-6 players. You and your friends will take on the role of shopkeepers in an RPG town plagued by monsters. You must draft item cards to stock your shelves and arrange your displays to attract the wealthiest heroes to your shop.

After that, the heroes will face off against monstrous threats. If they succeed, fantastic! If they get eaten alive, well, at least nobody will ask for a refund.

Do you have what it takes to be the best shop in town?

  • Base Game
  • The Black Market Expansion
  • Chaotic Goods Expansion
  • Solo Mode Expansion
  • 2019 Promo Cards
  • Errata Update pack
  • 8-Bit Theater Bonus Pack

    A custom UI widget to assist the drafting process: after a player has chosen a card and placed it face down over their shop, they may click on the "Pass Cards" button to set themselves as ready. Once all players have readied, the cards will automatically pass over. You may also click on the "+" icon to expand the widget, from which you can write down your attack and defense values to keep track of, or automatically view the total sum of crowns and reputation that you have earned, so long as they are placed over your shop.

Will this mod be getting the Sunk Costs expansion added to it?

What are the Memory bags for?
This was so much fun to play! Thanks for the mod! :starite:

I assume this is no longer under development and the last three options will stay greyed out?

@Lily Thanks - let me know if you do so. I tried making a stop-gap on my end by replacing your boards with boards of my own design, but your LUA coding is way beyond anything I understand and I mostly ended-up making a large and highly non-functional mess.

Thank you, I shall use it sparingly and only for personal projects

@cannedcream
The scripts won't respond until all the assets are fully loaded in - if the issue persists, give it another try after disabling mod caching.

@LordRiven
I've managed to make some strides with shaders and rendering methods which I'm currently applying on a new project - I'm curious to find out whether they address the issues you've been encountering, so that I may port them to Bargain Quest.

@Liyarin
Thank you, I'm glad to hear! And as long as it's not for commercial / commissioned work, you're most welcome to make use of it —credit's not necessary, but always very appreciated.

Hi Lily, ever since I first played this mod of yours I've been a big fan of this setup. I was now starting to want to use the table that you're using in this mod, but I wouldn't want to use it without your permission, so here I am asking for it. No hard feelings if you're not comfortable with other people using it.

@Lily so I tried asking around and apparently the Shader issue might have something to do with the Unity version the assets were made in? To quote someone talking about this issue in an early version of the game (back in 2017) "To fix [the loading problem] these assets will need re-building in this newer version of Unity With the New Unity Project package on Git hub (using one of the Current White listed Shaders) to replace any which are no longer compatible."

If that makes any sense to you.

I can't seem to get rid of that opening info screen. It's says to "click anywhere", but that doesn't actually make it go away.
