I made this guide for all those new to the game that want to play the glorious country of tanks that is South Africa. Hope this guide learn how to play one of my favorite countries.

Understanding South Africa
So you want to get into MP HOI4 and decided to play South Africa eh? Well lucky enough for you found this guide and if you follow it you should be able to hold El-Alamein, take Africa, and win the game. In order to play South Africa you need to understand what this country does and what you need to do to help your allies. South Africa's job is to help the allies by holding El-Alamein and then pushing it to take Africa and then after you have taken Africa you have 2 choices. Do your allies need more help for a fast D-Day? Then put your tanks in the UK. Is Japan rushing down Singapore and closing on India? Then go help out there.

What is important as South Africa is that you have your fully stocked tanks ready next to El-Alamein by 39!!! Without your tanks in El-Alamein you are going to lose East Africa and probably lose the game.

Research
1st Slot: Superior Firepower - Motorized(Get the license from the UK) - Delay - Mobile Defense - Integrated Support - Regimental Combat Teams - Mechanized Offensive- Concentrated Fire Plans - Combined Arms - Tactical Control - Airland Battle

2nd Slot: Research - Research 2 - Heavy 1 - Heavy 2 - Research 3 - Advanced Tools - Support Companies that you need like Radio, Engineer and Logistics

3rd Slot: Basic Machine Tools - Concentrated 1 - Concentrated 2 - Improved Machine Tools - Concentrated 3 - Radio - Support Companies that you need like Radio, Engineer and Logistics
PP Buys
1. Silent Workhorse
2. Armor Designer
3. Military Theorist
Save up for Spanish Civil War and then 250 PP then get an attache to Republican Spain and get the Partial Mobilization
4. Partial Mobilization
5. Industry Focus
Save up 100 PP for China War
6. Free Trade
7. Tank Expert
8. Army Defense
9. Army Regrouping
From here you want to Improve Worker Conditions and Get rid of Fascism to get 100% stability swapping to War Economy when possible.
Construction
This is super straightforward but if you ♥♥♥♥ it up then you aren't going to be able to get your tanks out for El-Alamein.
ONLY BUILD 3 CIVS!!! 2 On Cape and 1 on Natal
You are then going to max out the rest of your building slots as they come available to build mils.
Don't forget to max your port on cape to level 10 so you can get supply in North Africa.
Production
1 on Infantry Equipment
1 on Support Equipment
1 on Artillery
Rest on heavies when they are done building.
When your heavy 2s are done you are going to MAX GUNS to 5 and then the rest into reliability.
Put everything on your new and improved heavies when you're done upgrading them. Your UK should send you like 800-1000 motorized for your divisions.
Divisions
7 Motorized 13 Heavies with Shovels, Recon, Radio, Engineer, and Logistics
Make sure to 1 division train a 50 width division from the start of the game for maximum experience gain.
Conclusion

@White I dont like SF For SAF. Wont get hard attack stat until too late where ur 2 tanks are useless

Hi, I know this is an older thread but it still works I hope. I tried it and There is noooo waaay I can get my 10/10 tank division fully equiped by the start of the war.... What am I missing?

@Jimogwa you also must consider the fact that SF tanks are infinitely better than any MW tank in terms of raw stats. Compare a 30 org SF to a 30 org MW tank to see the differences in hard and soft attack! (SF is also cheaper, another bonus)

@Jimogwa 1) The attack bonuses are much better when you actually have to push and take africa and eventually d-day or help in india.

2) You have to garrison your ports with infantry so you don't get meme'd by a naval invasion by the axis.

Hey, this is pretty nice! Just a few questions:

1. I'm aware that Superior firepower is great for countries like Germany and Soviets as they buff tank attack while making Infantry useful, but wouldn't the org bonuses from mobile warfare be more useful considering your only job is squatting on El-Alemein?

2. What is the reason for putting 1 mil on artillery? Do you use support arty in your heavy tanks?
