USS PROMETHEUS

Description
NOT CPU COMPLIANT

This CV is based on the USS Prometheus Starship for Star Trek Voyager's "Message in a Bottle." The Interior, however, is heavily based on the Intrepid Class Starship Voyager, both in design elements and overall layout, but has some Star Wars inspiration as well. This Ship was built using Voyager's actual deck plans, however, while Voyager has 15 Decks, this ships was scaled down to only 7; Each Deck has a full block of floor and two full blocks of open space as I found the extra real estate to be helpful for aesthetics, though this effectively cut the deck count in half. The ship is also just shy of 300m, which make it about as large as a Crown class Princess Cruise Ship, and just a bit smaller than Voyager itself.

Those familiar with Voyager's layout should feel at home here, though some key areas have been moved around to accommodate the decreased Deck count, space requirements, and usability (ie: The Security complex is below sick bay, rather than above, because it needed the largest portion of the saucer section to accommodate its size).

I am not going to list this ships Empyrion specific features because I can suffice it to say it has everything. And it is armed to the teeth. So let's just jump into aesthetics and unique features:

Features:
- Prometheus Style Exterior with four Engine nacelles including interiors
- Bridge
- Captain's Ready Room
- Bridge Officers Meeting Room
- Voyager Style Mess Hall In correct Location (Deck 2, under Bridge)
- 42 Spacious Cabins and 1 Captain's Quarters and Office.
- 6 Escape Shuttle Areas (2x3 area... I designed a 7 passenger escape vehicle that fits, accounting for all 42 hands)
- Meeting Room
- Aft Sky Bar (My own unique touch. I wanted a cool 2 floor bar with a glass ceiling)
- Voyager Style Sick bay complex (Including Dr's Office, Morgue, and an added Clone chamber for gameplay)
- 2 Voyager Style Science Labs
- 2 Voyager Style Transporter Rooms (No functionality)
- Voyager Style Security Complex including Meeting Room, two locker rooms, Armory, and Detention (3 brigs)
- Port, Starboard, and Forward Airlocks for easy station docking
- Voyager Style Main Cargo Bay Loading Area along with 6 Voyager style Cargo bays (Empty)
- 2 Main Artillery rooms with ammo boxes and seats for most main turrets (other turret rooms dotted throughout ship)
- "Five Forward" Voyager's Forward under saucer observation lounge (think "Ten Forward" from TNG)
- AeroWing Bay (Designed to specifically fit one of my other builds: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1844676271)
- Sky Bridge Lounge
- 3 floor Computer Core room in the correct location for Voyager
- Voyager style Main Engineering complex. Actually has the warpdrive instead of a nebulous Blue Core
- Voyager schematically accurate Shuttle Bay A and B, though with Star Wars influence
- Voyager Style Shuttle storage under Shuttle Bay B
- Voyager Style Astrometrics and Stellar Cartography roughly in the right location
- Voyager located Forward and aft Torpedo launchers
- Officer's and Enlisted Messes roughly in the correct location
- Aft Observation lounge
- Generator room underneath main engineering
- Deflector Dish Room with Dish (Just a big Engine) and Shield Generator
- Offices
- Garage; designed to be flush with ground on landing, used to house HV's

The one main element I did not include from Voyager, or any StarFleet vessel, is the HoloDeck. I could have included a couple smaller ones, but it would have made such a bland room (Just a grid pattern), so I decided to skip it. If I were to add them, I would simply pull some space from the aft most cargo bays.

The ships also has a few more smaller break rooms and bathrooms are everywhere.

This is a colossal build that lags even in singleplayer, but not too bad. I suspect Server based play may cause issue, though I have had a coop game without too much trouble. I have a polar opposite build of a very scaled down Star Trek style CV here:

It is a Mini USS Voyager. At some point I may create some middle ground. I hope you enjoy this build, as I have put probably 300 hours into it and have tried to finish every nook and cranny. There are only a few rooms not utilized.
5.
To be exact.
I think...

Enjoy!

2/11/2020 UPDATE

I took a few month Hiatus from Empyrion, but upon coming back, I have looked into the CPU issues:

Looks like the CPU changes makes a realistic functional limit to how big a usable ship can be... which is probably not a bad Idea, seeing as Empyrion can barely handle a ship this size, in so many different ways. So I must admit, I have to agree with the devs on that call. (10M is a little light, imo, but whatever). I say this having actually played a single player survival with this ship. The requirements were extreme, but not unachievable, and it was usable, but it DOES slow the game down, it really IS a little large for planetary use and combat, and it is oversized for one person or a few people to be running around in (running from the bridge to the hangar gets to be a bit of a chore).

That said, I loved building this thing, and I think it proved a great immersion piece for what being on a Star Trek sized ship would feel like, and I'm proud of that. In the future, I think I will focus on ships that are more functionally sized but still feel grand. I dunno, maybe I'll build a Prometheus version that is more usable... something a little bigger than my Voyager?

Thank you to everyone who downloaded, upvoted, favorited, and especially to you who commented. It felt good making something people liked.

Well, I finally did it: made a currently usable Prometheus. Check it out here:

That would be great to see, I would love to take it for a spin.

This ship is catastrophically large, but it is still one of my most popular builds. After the success of my more moderately sized Star Destroyer, I am wondering if there would be any interest in a .25x-.5x scale version of this that would be CPU compliant? If anyone is still reading this, let me know!

@scd_13 Just tried it and it spawns in fine. In a game you don't care about, try typing sbp in the console and then use the F2->Library menu to spawn it manually, see if that works.

I was trying to get it in a solo game.

If you're trying to make it in a server, I don't think you can. This is beyond the CPU limit, and I think you can only make it in a sandbox type world without cpu restrictions.

I'm having the same issue as The Crimison F about it not showing up, anyone else had this and how did you fix it.

@PrimesTechRoom This ship was designed before CVs could dock to other CVs, which would have meant they would all have been permanently separated. Now, with the advent of CV docking, this MIGHT actually be possible, however, the resulting ships would still be very large and it would require a severe rework of the interior.

Originally, I meshed together two of my favorite ships: Voyager's interior with the Prometheus's exterior, as I liked the quad engine design, aesthetically speaking. I was actually never a huge fan of the multi-vector attack mode. Further, there are some multilevel rooms, like engineering, that would actually be cut in half by this plan.

That said, It's an interesting concept, and one that would make for an interesting CV, provided you have at least 3 people manning it.

if i could make a suggestion why dont you cut the ship up into 3 parts like in the program that way each would have its own cpu limit plus it would make it a lot better really nice ship
