Dodo Skimmer

The Dodo is a small fixed wing, double seater aircraft, based on the GTA rendition of the Cessna 152. It's a very simple aircraft, with no real purpose other than travelling from A to B or general exploration.

I tried to keep the shape as close as possible to the "real" Dodo, however some liberties were taken with the design as making compact builds in Stormworks is a bit difficult. The cockpit is also loosely based on the real Cessna 152. The aircraft is built in advanced mode, and is equipped with a cabin heater for artic operations.

This version depitcs the Skimmer, a float plane version of the Dodo featured in GTA VC and GTA SA. Although slower than it's wheeled brothers, it makes up for it with the ability to land on water. This airplane does not have a landing gear - it is only capable of water landings.

Please note: during the take-off run, make sure to pitch up the plane slightly to get off the water smoothly. The airplane will NOT take-off with full nose-up pitch.

NOTE: In order to make the plane take off, I had to use a small "cheat" by adding fin rudders to the bottom of the floats. Unfortunatley, this is the best way I found from keeping the plane from nose diving into the water during take-off.

This airplane is part of a pack including all the GTA renditions of the Dodo (Dodo, Dead Dodo, Skimmer) and a fictional, taildragger version with skis (Auk).
