The issue isn't to do with Deerclops, it is the new Winter Tree surprise update which spawns somewhere on the mainland and has some presents under the tree but your workaround still works to stop this event crashing the mod, thanks again.

If anyone else can replicate this and knows how to fix it please post some information, or even a mod fix, as this is a great mod and we would hate to have to stop using it.
