Mysthawk's Additional Units

Description
If there are things to add, major updates will be fortnightly
DISCLAIMER: This mod is a Work-In-Progress. Pictures may be outdated from time to time.

What this mod contains:
This mod is a collection of new units to the game that expand upon the different races. I've tried to keep them themed and appropriate, but some are just personal flavour. A large majority of the units have custom skills that I made from scratch myself. Hope you enjoy!

Currently available units and unlock conditions are listed below:

Assembly Units:
T2 - Assembly Electrostatic Jolter infantry unit: Frontline grunt that comes equipped with an arc blaster. Custom skill 'Kinetic Conversion' allows them to consume corpses to gain a stacking damage buff and heal themselves. Unlocked via Military Specialist structure.

T2 - Assembly Flayer infantry unit: Melee only grunt that has Reanimation Protocol, allowing it to resurrect itself once per combat. This comes with a penalty of armour and shield loss, as well as a damage reduction. Unlocked via Military Specialist structure.

T1 - Assembly Conversion Swarm skirmisher unit: Melee swarm unit that has the ability to consume a dead unit to create copies of itself. It can do this as many times as there are corpses, but it does not always succeed. The copies last until end of battle. Unlocked from the start.

Syndicate Units:
T2 - Syndicate Psilock Hunter skirmisher unit: Hybrid infantry that excels at harassing enemy forces. Has a custom Banshee's Howl ability that demoralises all enemy units within a one hex radius. Unlocked via Military Specialist structure.

T1 - Syndicate Arbite infantry unit: Melee frontline grunt. Essentially acts as an Indentured unit with a concussive melee attack. Good for blocking enemy units. Unlocked from the start.

Dvar Units:
T3 - Dvar Ironclad infantry unit: Comes with some extra skills as a base and a bit more health and regeneration. Unlocked via Military Specialist structure.

T2 - Dvar Hammerer infantry unit: Melee unit that comes with a basic hammer attack and shield charge/bash. Good at engaging enemies and locking them down so that other units can finish them off at range. Unlocked via Military Specialist structure.

T2 - Dvar Cogitator support unit: Dvar Mechanics. Able to repair friendly mechanical allies as well as disable enemy units with a wrecking shot. Unlocked via Military Specialist structure.

T2 - Dvar Matchlock sniper unit: Long range sniper that utilises an incendiary rail rifle. Able to shoot from afar when behind cover, but vulnerable to any close range and melee attacks. Unlocked via Military Specialist structure.

Vanguard Units:
T1 - Elysian Mobile Infantry infantry unit: Cheap, upkeep free unit that cannot be upgraded. They are designed as a throwaway unit and can be deployed from Elysian Aerial Transports.

T2 - Elysian Aerial Transport flying unit: Designed as a reinforcement unit, these transports can deploy a single unit of Elysian Mobile Infantry that last until end of battle. Can be deployed via Elysian Support Beacons from the start.

T1 - Elysian Support Beacon specialist unit: Weaponless unit that can call in reinforcements to the battlefield in the form of Elysian Aerial Transports that lasts until end of battle. Unlocked from the start.

T2 - Elysian Orbital Shock Trooper infantry unit: They are an upgrade on the normal Vanguard foot soldier, with a jetpack and extra grenade ability. Although they do not create a new role in an army, they are intended as a stronger base unit to put modifications on and benefit from being able to redeploy as necessary during combat.

Amazon Units:
T2 - Amazon Venom Harrier flying skirmisher unit: Biotic attacks (swoop and spit). Unlocked via Military Specialist structure and Harrier technology.

T2 - Amazon Amber Guardian infantry unit: Laser lance foot infantry with ambush leap as a charge attack. Unlocked from the start.

T1 - Amazon Shieldmaiden support unit: Frontline support unit that can shield other units. Unlocked via Military Specialist structure.

I would appreciate it if people could give feedback and suggestions on what they'd like me to do with the mod.

I'm not actively updating the mod anymore, since I stepped away from playing Planetfall, so I am not sure what mods as of late might be an issue. However, the Dvar units in this mod are the only ones that use any modified vanilla tables/code, as all the other units either use generic tables (which shouldn't conflict) or utilise custom abilities/coding I made myself (which again shouldn't conflict).

Hope that helps? If you find an issue with a mod I can update the description to reflect it?

Any Incompatible mods? Thanks

it sorta works. Ive seen the ai use them and ive had runs where the ai just ignored them outright.

No, it applies to the AI as well. But, it hasn't been updated in a while so I don't know if it works still.

Needs Shakarn troops too. Neat idea though

Unless the developers have added something that breaks my mod, it should work fine since it adds new units and abilities only. If it is broken, let me know and I can push out a quick patch for it. 2020 has been a terrible year so things have been put on hold for the most part.

outdated?

So, I am aware that another mod author has started up a collection of units and is updating/playing more regularly than I do. For the record, I think this is awesome and definitely what the community needs. That said, I will continue to support this mod and adding new content (usually aligns with expansions) but I am expecting that most people will not be using this in the future as I do not update much/often.

Anyway, now that that is out of the way, I've tweaked some things to do with the Vanguard and added a Tactical Operation. I'll have a couple new units out soon too, so if you feel like keeping an eye out for that then awesome. :srfist:
