How to re-arrange dota 2 items on your inventory

This guide will allow you to re-arrange your steam dota 2 inventory so you can showcase your immrotals and rare items on the first page or however you want.

Make sure you have the console enabled!

Now, run dota 2 client and navigate to your inventory. Open console and type the following command, without quotation

"dota_import_steam_inventory_layout"

This will load all your items into the collection in the same order as they were in your steam inventory. Now you can arrange your items however you like them to show up. Note that steam inventory allows you to display items in 5 rows and 5 columns so you want to arrange items in 5 row, leaving the 6th row empty.

Now that you have re-arranged your inventory, open console and type the following to export your collection items to your steam inventory -

"dota_export_steam_inventory_layout"

Note that it may take some time to load it properly so allow few minutes and check your steam inventory and make sure it is successfully exported, it will look similar to the screenshot below.

Multi-select item to move or clear them from collection

In order to re-arrange your items, you need to remove those item that you don't wanna showcase ( preferably normal sets without animation/ duplicate items, etc). You can multi-select items by holding ''ctrl'' key on your keyboard and selecting multiple items by clicking on them, and then dragging them anywhere outside your collection window and release mouse key as shown below.





Similarly you can select multiple items and move them via holding ''ctrl'' and selecting items, and drag and place them where you want as shown in the screenshot below.

@CaptainPrice You will see that in the console but it will still update. Make sure you paste the export code couple times in the console and reload your steam inventory to make sure it's updated.

Unless valve implements a way to select multiple item at once,or automating the process entirely, this has to be done manually. I am afraid if that's what you are looking for, this guide is not for you.

I get what your saying because you're just repeating what I've said in my replies earlier. In reality, it's gonna be a waste of time moving it MANUALLY. Thanks anyway.

If you want to move a specific item, you can search it in your inventory on client, drag it to wherever you want it to be. Ofcourse it will take long if you are to arrange your 2000 item. I suggest you remove items that you don't wanna showcase from the collection simply via dragging them out of the collection area and drop them anywhere outside it, and only arrange items that are valuables or rares, etc.

I already arranged it before and all of it are on the left side. Now, it's on the far right side of my Collection. I just wanted to add all of my items to it but not to the point that they'll be scattered all through out my Collection. I can possibly move it one by one from the far end to the start but I've got 2k+ items in my inventory. Moving it one by one is just a waste of time.
