Space Peafowl Dimorphism

Description
FAIR IS FOWL, AND FOWL IS FAIR -- William Shakespeare, more or less

I like dimorphism mods that eschew anthropomorphization in favor of mimicking the dimorphism of similar known life forms, so I made a couple of my own.

This mod adds dimorphism to Avian 18, aka space peafowl. Now you have hens to go with your... uh, let's say roosters.

Space Peafowl Evolution

In the distant past, male space peafowl developed elaborate and colorful tail plumes to attract mates. Since these tails were cumbersome and conspicuous, that left the drabber females to do the hunting for the flock, which accounts for most of the physiological differences between the sexes. It also accounts for why male space peafowl are such layabouts who should really get off the couch and help out around here once in awhile, you live here too you know, Herman.

What I Did

I'm not an artist, just someone who messed around in GIMP a bit. To create the female variants, I took the default "male" space peafowl portrait, cut down the tail feathers, and did some recoloring, mostly using the "hue/saturation" and "colorize" tools. I also made the females' eyes and claws larger, based on the idea that they'd been hunters, but it's not very noticeable.

Future Updates

I've had this mod sitting on my hard drive for over a year and didn't bother uploading it until now, so chances are I'll be too lazy to update it either. That said, it's exceedingly unlikely to ever break. If it does break, feel free upload a fixed version.

More Portraits?

I've got one other dimorphism mod: Space Goat Dimorphism

Since GIMP stopped supporting .dds files some time ago, it's unlikely I'll make any more of these. Also, I don't really have the necessary skill to do so. If you want more portraits, you're probably better off finding someone who knows what they're doing.

I hope y'all enjoy these space birbs.

It makes a lot of sense, actually. Any higher evolved lifeforms would almost certainly exhibit dimorphism, and generally more of it. /issacarthurimpression

Not only that, but you could even get rid of the visible high tails for the females for even MOAR dimorphism. I'm not running mods right now, but I really like this idea.

This mod, as well as three others, keep turning themselves off, saying something's wrong with the downloaded files

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the male peafowl were the beautiful ones and the females were plain and brown. Do I have this backwards?

Wait, so you're mimicking Peafowls and Peacocks, but you made the Males tail shorter. Even though it's the females that have little to no tail?
