LYS (Psychedelic Drug)

Description

For the hippies of the rim.

Adds a new drug (LYS) with a focus on long-term mood boosts with no addiction or health risks. Its one downside is that your pawns will be mostly useless while under its effects, which can last a long time.

1: Plant and harvest Ergo.
2: Research LYS Production.
3: Craft LYS at the Drug Lab.

The plants need to be updated to work with current build.

Yeah, for whatever reason it thinks that the there's a recipeMaker tag where there is none. I haven't really looked too much into modding this game (made this in maybe 20 minutes).

Whatever the case, it just shows that error at the start and doesn't cause any issues while playing; it's something that it checks a single time, so it won't affect performance or anything, and everything from the recipe to the product work as intended.

this mod is giving me error on start up, even without the mod being activated. i've got a clean install right now, and without being subscribed to any mods it starts up fine, but if i subscribe to this it get this error

https://pastebin.com/CJG8ZkuT

and if i then activate the mod it get this additional error on start up

https://pastebin.com/ZgVKtzLc

having looked online for a bit before figuring out the source of the first error, i was seeing it might be caused by a faulty about.xml, and looking at the one this has, i see this is using both supportedVersions and targerVersion. When I delete the targetVersion section, the first error stops, though the second persists if I keep the mod activated.

Holy smokes for a second I thought that this mod would make your whole game look like a trip when one of your pawns ingested the stuff!

Thanks for fixing the market price for ergo, way more balanced now! I used all my fields to grow the first round of ergo which yielded about 3k units of it. Selling the ergo itself would've made me 45k silver, while making it all into LYS and selling that would've only made 10k in comparison!

The price for the LYS itself is fine I think. I don't really make it specifically to sell it and I don't imagine many will, but the silver I get from selling the excess feels fair.

I do have a lot of excess though. Hundreds. If you've got glitterworld prime, look out for hot deals on LYS soon :D

Holy shit I've just thought...you could make this a way deeper mod by possibly integrating the Psychology mod and having a selection of new traits that can be added to colonists after taking these drugs.... People with certain personality traits might be more prone to getting a "traumatised" trait, and people with other traits might be inclined to get positive traits that give them permanent mood boosts or boosts to certain skills.... That sounds super cool to me lol. It'd make Psychology more of an important mod too

Hah, a LYS party at the start of each quadrum surely sounds like fun!

Thanks for the feedback! Just uploaded a fix for the Ergo price and for the job description.

Let me know what you think about the market price of LYS. My intention was to make it hard to produce and not massively profitable -in comparison with other drugs- by requiring high skill to be crafted, a long growing period for the plant, and Neutroamine, yet I'd still like it to feel like you're making some silver off it when a trader comes by or when a guest buys your excess, so please let me know of any changes you would like from the perspective of someone who makes most of their money from drug production.

I'm glad you're enjoying it! (:
