If you don't mind being a total cheapo, this ship will disable entire armies of ships constantly, or just one. Either way, they have very little chance to fight back. There are only four weapons to worry about, not counting the 'The Rocket' device, which is mainly there for a speed boost, not as a weapon, so you don't have to worry about running out of fingers. Just hold both mouse buttons and Q and E constantly and watch everything burst into flames. In the event you actually are in danger of overheating yourself, let up on the thermal cannon for a few seconds. 3 of the 4 weapons will shoot straight through walls too, so that just makes this thing even cheaper. I went with low shield capacity but high shield recharge because the idea is that your enemies won't be able to shoot you often enough to kill you before being disabled, and by the time they recover, you have full shields again. And then they get disabled again in less than 1 second. With this ship, it is relatively easy to win scenarios even on the hardest difficulties with quite little thought required.

There is a fighter version of this ship that I call the Heat Fighter. It is much more fragile, but also much more agile. It also requires much more brainpower to use because you have to worry about steering and movement abilities.
