SONNI ALI

Ability | By Fire And Sword
During a Golden Age, military units gain additional Combat Strength against units of civilizations not in a Golden Age and earn Science equal to 50% of the Combat Strength of defeated units.

Agenda | Siege of Djenne
Respects civilizations at war with civilizations other than Songhai. Whilst in a golden age, sees those who are not as targets.

BUG REPORTS
This mod has been bug-tested but if you do experience any serious bugs, please provide detailed information in the pinned conversation below.

MAC USERS
This mod may not be compatible with Mac. If the databases do not match (due to a delayed update from Aspyr for example), any issues will likely be caused by the fact that we might be referencing a game_effect in this mod that doesn't exist yet on Mac databases.

LINUX USERS
You may experience bugs, crashes, and other weird and wonderful things that come with trying to use Linux for gaming. If you find that this is the case, unfortunately, this mod will be incompatible with your Linux system.

Hey @Jaj sorry about the delayed response - the best place to start is probably to pick apart an existing mod. If you want a head-start, you can download the modbuddy project for anything I've uploaded via Github. For example, the project for this one is here: https://github.com/ChimpanG/CIVITAS-Songhai

You're welcome to download it and see how it's been set up. We separate leader and civ, but there are plenty other mods on the workshop that don't, which can also be a good reference.

As for guides and things, CivFanatics is a great place to get started and you'll find a wealth of info over there.

@Clancy McFancy To remake it so that it's in-line with Civ VI's art style is far more difficult than it appears, but if you believe it's worth the effort, then I encourage you to give it a shot yourself. As a hobbyist, I am quite happy with my efforts and I don't intend to spend more time than I already do trying to emulate an art style that has been cultivated by industry professionals. It's frankly beyond my skill set.

a mod that adds a historical civ should fit with the artstyle; this is more like a Civ 5 thing.
