UNIVERSAL MESSAGE: It has been a while since I have been active in modding. Because of this, all of my mods are outdated and in need of updates to function. Unless I am not aware of any additional wrinkles, none of my mods should function right now. I am currently working on updating them. Thank you!

Thank you! I wish Gustav Vasa was the vanilla leader for Sweden.

Hi RFormica! Thanks for reply :). I am truly impressed by you and all the other modders that invest time and energy in modding Civ. You are what really makes Civ such a great game! I'm not suggesting that you remove your mod or even modify it. But it would be great with a mod that simulates what Gustav Vasa did for Sweden and how it shaped the future of the nation.

The state church that he laid the foundation of was a part of the Swedish state organization until 2000 AD (I think) keeping track of population births, deaths, relations, the numbers of kids people had, where people were living, it was crucial for the state for a long time to see who could do military service, how many was available for military service, how many were available for taxation etc. During a long period the state church also was responsible for the high level of literacy Sweden since the ability to read the teachings of Luther was mandatory and tested by the priests. Attendance to church on Sundays was mandatory and Vasa could always give the population the information he wanted them to have. Also, the reformation and seizures of church land increased the Royal landholdings from something like 15% to 70%.

@urien_ubael yeah, that is true; however, he also was a large patron of music and founded Sweden's first orchestra. However, i may change the design at some point in the future, but i've been busy lately.

Hi there! I just a little sceptical to Gustav Vasa increasing culture. With Kristina its correct but Gustav Vasa was infamous (during his time) for his pragmatical use of the Catholic Monestaries during the reformation where hand illustrated books were scraped to be used for accounting papers etc and church bells taken down were melted and made into cannons etc (he actually got a rebellion against him because the population were so upset by this). During Gustav Vasa's regime Sweden was centralized and the protestant church became a tool for more effective control of the population (both propaganda and administrative) which enableld him to get the maximum output of a rather poor country with a small population. Would love to see a mod that takes on these aspects of Gustav Vasa.
