Better Walls and Floors

Re-textures the walls, mine-ables and floors in the game. For additional wall and floor textures please consider my 'Extra Walls and Floors' mod here:

The replacement textures aim to achieve a 'painted' effect but should blend in with existing furniture and plants etc. Extra care has been taken to make sure that all the new textures 'harmonize' with each other. The mod only replaces existing textures and should work with existing saves.

Update 22/11/22
Updated to 1.4. The update doesn't seem to have broken anything although any new floors added are going to look odd next to those in this mod. I'll look to update these in the future so as to keep the mod current.

Updated all walls with new higher resolution textures.
Fixed a graphical bug that caused white lines to appear in the walls at certain zoom levels.
Added new textures for Barriers - Barriers now use planks/bricks/smooth appearances like the walls do.

Added my own Fine Carpet texture so it matches up better with my other floor textures.

Updated to 1.2
All metal tiles now look cleaner to better represent the sterility of them. The old texture has been renamed 'rough metal tiles' and is available as part of my 'Extra Walls and Floors" Mod.

Reversed a mistake I made during the last update where I forgot to update changes made to the rock flecked and compacted machinery textures.

New Wooden Wall Texture.

New Brick Wall Texture (Previous one is now 'Classic Stone' in my 'Extra Walls and Floors' mod!).

New Smooth Wall Texture (Previous one is now 'Industrial Wall' in my 'Extra Walls and Floors mod!).

Improved and unique embrasure textures for Combat Extended and ED Embrasures.

Various smaller improvements to some floor textures to better blend in with those in 'Extra Walls and Floors mod).

Added support for ED Embrasures.

Added a shader to the Paved Tiles and made them smaller to better fit with the others.

Replaced the Wood Floor texture to better fit with the others.

Replaced the Marsh texture to make marshes more 'marshy'.

Replaced the Carpet texture.

Fixed an issue with ore-containing rocks where the top left corner was appearing like a north-to-south wall.

Added Embrasures for combat extended. This mod will need to be loaded after combat extended for these to work.

Reverted Metal Ore colours to the originals (except compacted machinery which is now orange) to address the issue of them being difficult to locate.

The original metal texture has been replaced with one that is cleaner and more generic.

I appear to have resolved the issue with white lines appearing in the rock textures.

I've now added textures for smoothed floors and walls. These should blend in well enough with man-made walls now.
