I love the game but the pitfalls going in if better known/EXPLAINED would have been not only nice, but almost seems like a terrible oversight on the devs parts. It's almost like they knew they were making promises or designed a game that wasn't really gonna meet even those minimum requirements. Alot of us have spent 10 long years with this love/hate relationship.
I don't regret buying the game. I do regret not being better informed of the reality of playing the game however. Thanks to the modders and asset creators over the years that are TRULY the only reason most of us are still playing today.
BUT the games limits for pathfinding/vehicles seem to prove it isn't designed to handle enough of the simulation to meet that realistically.
They could have lowered level requirements to help people not running super computers, build far enough or large populations to get to end of the game before those things become restrictions to the game meaning you never get it fully unlocked without stuttering or vehicle confusion like we often used to see with service vehicles getting "CONFUSED".
Looking back at the original games specs even playing vanilla, it seems almost impossible that the game was designed to work as claimed if the internal limits mean you pass those before reaching the population and number of citizens and vehicles/tourist and dummy traffic, that gets you to the monuments and last level up.
