The first planet in the Humanity's First series (1/6)

Mars is a barren planet with loads of resources, but virtually no fertility, the challenge here is to overcome the food problem this planet offers. This planet is designed to destroy fast if global warming is into play, low level grounds and medium ice caps turns this planet into a lethal water world if messed with.

Story: (This is meant to be something of a prequel to the main story, showing how Imagine Earth Ltd. had become a company by being involved with the colonization of the solar system in the 2030's.(Of course the devs might of have something different in mind so this could be an alternate future line)).

Dr. Zen: "We've Finally done it! We have Transformed Mars into a lovely planet, ready for colonization."
Dr. Zen: "But there is some problems we should discuss before we start making the leap into making the first settlement."
Dr. Zen: "Mars even though brought back to life with modern technology, It still has it's dangerous and worrying issues."
Dr. Zen: "It still has a problem with fertility on the surface which is quite problematic, I suppose you could figure out on how to fix that."
Dr. Zen: "The second problem is with greenhouse gases, you see, Mars has decently sized polar ice caps, in combination with a low and flat surface, you get yourself a hell of a water world!"
Dr. Zen: "So It wouldn't be much trouble to you if you could be light on the factories?"
Dr. Zen: "The last problem our financial adviser will explain."
Mrs. Diana "Hello Sir, You may know me as your Financial Adviser."
Mrs. Diana "As the news mentioned before, the company is virtually near bankruptcy due to efforts to sustain mars."
Mrs. Diana "In turn the colonization fund will be very low from normal standards, and with the competition of colonizing Mars, It's going to be a rough start for you, I'm sure you can manage either way."
Dr. Zen: "You didn't brief on who the competition is, you know the boss has that as a requirement."
Mrs. Diana "Ah yes, we have 2 competitors we have to worry about, Blue Horizon (Alien Investors), and Colonizers Space Inc. (Business Logistics), and of course, your company, Imagine Earth Ltd."
Yourself: "Speaking of competition and problems is that all?"
Dr. Zen: "We aren't even on the last one! Cheap energy is going to be an issue, you see the lack of fossil fuels and uranium will limit the ability of these generators, so good energy is only found in clean variants."
Yourself: "Very well then, lets get started!"

Update 1.4 - Added more mountains to prevent easy expansion
Update 1.5 - Made Olympus Mons more apparent by raising terrain and marking with ore
Update 1.6 - Removed most trees. Research outposts now have production, food, power. Reduced ground fertility. Increased natural disasters.

These Planets are not going to be 100% realistic! Bare in mind that I want these planets to challenge people, not becoming realistic as possible.
