Humanity's First: Venus

Description
Venus, Earth's sister planet, perhaps you could turn Venus into Earth itself, with enough dedication you'll pull through these challenges the planet has to offer.

The second planet in the Humanity's First series (2/6)

Venus is a volcanic planet with moderate resources and ample uranium deposits, due to close proximity to the sun solar panels is the way to go, but the challenges here to overcome is the Fertility problem, as no plants could ever grow on the hot and rocky ground. This is Venus to expect it to be very hot and volcanic! On Venus giant quantities of stone can be seen on the surface though hindering expansion, could still be mined for profit. Venus is very hot as a result lack of trees grow in the polar regions only, you have to be very quick to sustain yourself before competition ruins the planet!

Story: (This is meant to be something of a prequel to the main story, showing how Imagine Earth Ltd. had become a company by being involved with the colonization of the solar system in the 2030's.(Of course the devs might of have something different in mind so this could be an alternate future line)).

Dr. Zen: "Ah Venus, You know my daughter was called that."
Dr. Zen: "I know it's a weird name, but I wasn't even choosing."
Dr. Zen: "Now, onto the topic, Venus has many problems coming into mind if you think about it."
Dr. Zen: "Heat, Greenhouse Gases, Volcanoes, Many Many Rocks, Horrible Soil Quality..."
Mrs. Diana: "Don't forget Low Funding."
Dr. Zen: "I was getting to that."
Dr. Zen: "Now Venus is very hot, I suggest settling in the polar regions so you'll have less trouble."
Dr. Zen: "For greenhouse gases I'm going to ask please, don't pollute the planet, and stop the other companies from doing so as well."
Dr. Zen: "Rocks are everywhere which explains why the soil is so bad, as well expansion is going to be difficult."
Dr. Zen: "Volcanoes are just horrible when they support all these conditions, If only it wasn't so bad."
Dr. Zen: "Now that should cover all the bad things, so now the good things."
Dr. Zen: "There is ample Uranium on the surface, and combined with the close sun power wont be a worry."
Mrs. Diana: "Now for the update on competition, In short, bigger and there's more of them"
Mrs. Diana: "Apparently the new company 'Terra Launch' (Bironix) Has in the past been developing new robots suited for these situations"
Mrs. Diana: "This may be worrying to our cause as we still have a low budget from colonizing mars."
Mrs. Diana: "The current competition has gotten harder, as Venus is a bigger planet, they will unlikely settle next to your settlements.
Mrs. Diana: "This may cause their expansion to go a lot faster."
Mrs. Diana: "That is all reporting from me."
Scanners: *Unknown Object Reported on surface of 'Venus', Region 'Aphrodite Terra'*
Dr. Zen: "Well It seems like we've missed something."
Dr. Zen: "What the hell is this structure? It seems like objects from a long lost civilization, and it seems to have just activated. It's starting to send signals into space."
Dr. Zen: "It looks very unfriendly, I'd advise you avoid that mountain region."
Dr. Zen: "Now the object is building something big."
Dr. Zen: "Something bad must happen if you go near that thing, I'm certain you must avoid the Region or your colonies will most likely get destroyed."
Yourself: "Well That's unfortunate I've heard there was great resources over in that region."
Dr. Zen: "But I wouldn't want the colony getting destroyed"
Yourself: "I wouldn't want that either, guess i have to pick another place."
Dr. Zen: "Anywhere else is fine."
Yourself: "I see, well I'm ready to start."
Dr. Zen: "Yes sir, sending the first colony pod into orbit of Venus."

These Planets are not going to be 100% realistic! Bare in mind that I want these planets to challenge people, not becoming realistic as possible.

That's a smart strategy! Good job on finding a solution :)

Great map. Just beat it using this strategy: landed second to let assimilators take care of my competitors for me and not spending resources dealing with them myself. Landed nearby two asteroids to get some rare resources for selling early on. Research techs for lowering emissions, particularly one that lower emissions for normal city district and another one that greatly increase remediation center effectiveness. At the same time vote for emission payments increase every chance I get. In the end I manage to stop climate change around 50% and then reverse it back while all my competitors just go bankrupt from taxes they vote for themselves and emissions payments they cannot really deal with.

Hi! i just finished this map today ! ( in mode easy only cos there is not emissions taxes , in this cases it was impossible to win with if it is more complicated ..)
So I confirm : it was always possible to land before the others and win!
there is on the worshop another map ( i don't rememeber the name !)where the assimilators are very too much and the tip to landing the last one don't work and you must play like this one !

Critical Floof - Ah, I was always landing before any of the competition. No wonder they always came after me.
Wuik - I've tried landing to the left of the pyramid, but couldn't overcome the 3-4 assimilators since I always landed first.
Critical Floof  [author] Dec 17, 2020 @ 1:41pm
The intended solution is to wait for competition to land so the assimilators lock onto them first, then eject the assimilators through any means

Hello!
you must don't mind about the assimilators!!
Just land at the left of the big pyramid!
play slowly! just an advice !
make growing your city normaly still the vendors come !! at this time sell all what you have! an d buy all the food!!!
after it really easy to eject all the assimilators from the planet !!:steammocking:
That's all !^^

So I've tried this one 5 times, and within 20-30 game minutes, there are 3-4 assimilators all coming at my city. Each time I tried a different landing zone away from the assimilators, to no avail. All of the budget gets wiped out by continually repairing the 2 frontier towers. Seems like the assimilators are all going for me instead of the competition. Was this your intention for this planet?
Critical Floof  [author] Dec 12, 2020 @ 11:46pm
It's probably greyed out for every one of my planets now because of updates, all of the goals for planets is reach 'X' population essentially, just keep growing as much as possible

I noticed that for this planet, the Victory Points button is greyed out. Can you tell me what the objectives are?
