Know what it feels like, but worse. Late-game battleship with 23 aliens aboard, and found about half of them in one area. The high ground really saved me, since I hit my target about every time, and found them less trouble than expected. Hate it, though.

As I have learned in xcom in most cases, going straight up the middle of the map is always a bad idea. On this map, if you go towards the front of this ship, you will most likely always trigger more than one group of enemies every time. Snipers with squad sight can effectively control space to one side of the ship or the other. In this case you only have 2 mutons on the right that have cover that can be destroyed which is not that great. Contolling space while minimizing risks is the best play here.

haha yea this thought me to advance really slowly and taking side streets / paths rather than head on :p All so I dont accidentally spawn like 3 different groups at once as happened in this case.

I always like to have my heavies up front and my supports in the back. I have also made this mistake of clustering too close against mutons in my five playthroughs of normal on xbox360. I also have xcom on PC, and have since learned my lesson to try and avoid these situations like the plague.

Nine mutons. All at once. I have had similar things happen to me on classic difficulty. I always bring 2 heavies if I can on missions like these. With at least 2 rockets a piece. Even then, it would be a difficult feat to get out of this one.

LOL henke funny you say that because I didn't know they had granades... until second turn when I learned it quite painfully :P

I hate how more enemies keep spawning if you hit certain "Trigger tiles." I feel its a bit like cheating but in situations like this I end up reloading taking a "side route" specifically avoiding the trigger cause otherwise it's just impossible. Had a "rescue" missions that after 2 turns spawned ~15 of those bug-like melee bastard that pretty much killed everyone in one turn. No way to even feasibly protect them :|

Holy shit that's a lot of bogeys. Also you have your dudes too close together man. One grenade and they can halve the lifes of 3-4 of your guys!
