Yes, this is, what I want! and up to 2x8 square fields. The deeper the parts go, the bigger you can build a mall. The width should always be two fields to be able to build narrow if desired (or necessary). This could also be parts of buildings that are 2x10 or 2x12 fields. That's completely free.
In my example, some parts are moved back further, so there are more lawns between the street and the building. so you can make everything even more flexible.
Well ... it is your mall. And I hope, you like this idea. :)
I love being able to build buildings in a dozen different variations from just a few parts. That's the goal behind it.
Instead of being able to place a building that always looks the same and always needs the same space, you can adjust the mall to the space you have in your city. The mall adapts to the conditions of the city, not the other way around.

... with your plan I see very well what you want to get.
I only have to find a nice design and in a few days I should be able to make something that makes sense !!
Thanks for this very good idea ...I launch the project, it’s up to you to find the name of the pack !!
Amating work!
But I thought of something much bigger. Building parts with which you can create a megamall.
Here is an example (self made):

To create a shopping mall as flexible as possible, all segments are two squares wide. The depth always jumps two fields, so you have parts of the building with the dimensions 2x2, 2x4, 2x6 and 2x8.
In order to be able to build certain segments further away from the road, there are some parts with lawns. There is an exception in the corners that they have a measure of 2x4, but also 4x4. In this way, you can build more airy, that is, have more green space between the building and the street.
All building parts are exactly the size of the fields in Cities: Skylines accordingly. Thus, the individual parts fit together seamlessly.
All walls of each part of the building are exterior walls (for example glass façade). Each segment can therefore also serve alone as a shopping building.

The creation of flexible models that can be arranged in a suitable way is a good idea ....I will probably study the principle ; ) !!
I have a question: What about a modular shopping mall? So we can put together a big mall as we need it. Small, big. Whether just square, rectangular or angled. I think, this is a great idea for an utopia mall.
