I can remember playing around with the flicker. (It's just a darker semi-transparent overlay that gets turned on and off) I wanted to make it darker and last longer but I never managed to get it how I wanted it. This is sadly the best I could do. I may look into your suggestions once I have the time.

after having this for a bit.. do you think the blink could be more like a dungeony type with darker longer periods of loss of power mimicing a lose connection? maybe if you can add a little a bzzz sound? just some ideas i had rolling around.

Added a flickering lights effect. You can turn it off if you don't like it.
