Glass Elevators

Description
Animated functional-ish glass elevators in 6 / 9 / 12 meter variations.

The elevator contains an invisible "underground" path and a "balcony".


You need road anarchy enabled to place it.

DO NOT place it close to roads (place it more than 2 cells away from roads on the side of the elevator), for some reason sometimes the paths screw up and snap to the ground when you do this. You can move it afterwards fine tho.

Once you place it, the ground may come up to the path, creating a hill, use move it and hold alt to select the vanilla pedestrian path node and delete it, then rebuild the vanilla pedestrian path (or some other custom path if it works) coming straight out of the elevator, DO NOT create an intersection with the elevator "balcony", make it go straight for a bit and then do whatever you want further.


They do some other weird stuff while you're plopping or moving them, but other than that should be fine, got tired of troubleshooting it.

If you don't want citizens using it, simply use move it and hold alt to select all the nodes in the building and delete them.

If you disable the building, the animation will stop but the citizens will still use its path.

@Ronyx69 the elevator looks great. but I have a problem with the location. I also read your instructions for placement, but even if I do it as it is written, the terrain keeps getting deformed. I also cannot connect the sidewalk to the existing sidewalk leading from the elevator. I will try different variants using move it. Please try to write more precise instructions on how to do that. I kept this asset because it looks awesome, but only uses it as a PO. I hope I can solve it so that it is also functional.

With regard to the issue of the land being deformed with the 6m and 9m variants. Do as the OP said. Use MoveIt and hold Alt to remove the street up top (two nodes). You can then move the elevator as needed without the land being deformed or with the extra street. Then, if you want to have it functional, you can use invisible paths to connect it.

This is what I see when I try to install 12m Glass Elevator.

It is 6m one.
As you see, blueprint for 12m elevator has an enormous needless shades.
And installing 9m and 6m elevator spoils the ground next to them.

So what can I only do is installing 12m elevator and using stairways to connect its upper deck to the pedestrian bridge just next to it.

It is "Pedestrian Path with Stairs 2" asset that I used to connect them.

I'm getting a "SLOPE" message when I try to place this. I've tried to place it several different flat areas on the map figuring I'll just use MoveIt! to get it where i want it. It says SLOPE TO STEEP every location and I can't place it anywhere. I tried loading it into the Asset Creator as a new asset and when I placed it the rear of the 1x4 lot pulled the terrain up in the editor. I've never seen that before and there was no way to correct it.

Oh, and I don't use the Building Anarchy mod, and only the highest elevator worked for me.

Regarding my issue, if anyone was wondering, I think the thing that solved it for me was to install Klyte45's "Fine Road Tool" in addition to Fine Road Anarchy. Unfortunately this presently seems to make Road Anarchy's buttons disappear, but I work around that by using the keyboard shortcuts. I had to enable Anarchy mode and disable collision, but in most locations, it still would say "Distance too short"—however, despite the error and red border, the game still would let me place the elevator. Then, I just have to adjust its position with Move It!
