Description
Requires Long War 2. For WOTC Version click: [WOTC] Solo Operative
Central has authorized highly specialized individuals to function behind enemy lines as spies and in other capacities for the betterment of the XCOM project. These soldiers can infiltrate mission areas in a matter of hours, as all they require is a Skyranger supply drop to engage.

;;;;;;;;;;PERKS;;;;;;;;;;;;
--------------------------------
There are about 25 new abilities in this mod, many are at Squaddie rank. View them in the screenshots.

I've turned what started out as a glitch into a thematic element that is Double Reloads. There's even an ability (Blankshot) which turns that negative occurrence into a good thing.

DOUBLE RELOADS: We've deployed spies, but so has ADVENT. Many of our Aces' ammunition stores have been tampered with, replacing standard ammunition with blanks. Loading a cartridge full of blanks will only waste time.

HACKING EXTRAORDINAIRE: Aces hack nearby cameras, passively gaining the knowledge of enemy deployment through walls. They also have a very high hacking stat and can see enemies from afar.

Most ACE ABILITIES aren't in the AWC, which is by design. Most soldiers can't handle their technique.

HARDCORE: It's not written in the file, but this powerful ability always puts the Ace into sick bay after a mission, even if they didn't take any damage.

Ace's cannot equip PCS implants as their Surveillance ability uses their PCS slot thematically.

-------------------------------
;;;;;;;;;;STATS;;;;;;;;;;;;
-------------------------------
Aces stats start at maximum and don't increase through promotions, except Hack.
('range' below is based on Shadow Ops classes for LW2)

; Aim: 20 (range is 16-28) *[-7 at mission start per Ace deployed, increases by 1 every kill]*
; HP: 2 (range is 2-6) *[May be increased by 1 at the loss of 10 Aim any number of times.]*
; Will: 45 (range is 6-10) [Also immune to most mental status effects, but BEWARE VIPER GRAB!]
; Hack: 75+50 over time (range is 0, 50, or 75)
; Dodge: 20 (range is 0, 10, 20)
; Sight Range: +2 (range is 0)
; Mobility: +3 (range is 0) [This is to compensate for equipment mobility penalties in LW2]

*Asterisk means those stat changes are PERMANENT, not temporary or mission specific.*
(Note that the permanent stat loss only effects Soldiers and Resistance Members on later missions. When a Solo Operative rescues Recruits, the Recruits will regain their stats when they're promoted to Squaddie in the barracks after the mission.)
**If you would rather stat loss be TEMPORARY ONLY check the DISCUSSIONS, though it's unbalanced.**

ESSENTIAL MODS
- Back to the Long War after a long hiatus? You'll find these LEGACY LW2 mods are essential.
- Note that LW2 can have much larger maps than the base game. I recommend reducing your graphics settings to Low to improve performance if necessary. Also lowering the game's resolution speeds things up.

NON-ESSENTIAL MODS
(Let me know in the comments if there are other mods you would like me to add to this list)
SHADOW OPS, GRIMYS LOOT MOD, STEALTH MODS, COMMANDER'S CHOICE, MORE ALIENS, etc.
These will make your game easier, but may be more enjoyable. Feel free to pick and choose.

If you're playing with SHADOW OPS: Solo Operative provides all the AWC perks and also the Kills Tab from Shadow Ops. There may be AWC combos that aren't intended when playing with Shadow Ops in addition to Solo Operative for the time being. This could be a minor inconvenience.

;;;;;FAQ;;;;;;
-----------------
Q. RPGO?
A. Yes. It's called RPGO Knight Bishop Rook!

BUGS, IDEAS, EXPERIENCE, MORE..? Head over to the discussion thread.

I don't want to take any more of your time PLAY it already!

Q. Hardcore always sends soldiers to sickbay, intentional?
A. For now it's just how it works.

--------------------------------
;;;;;COMPATIBILITY;;;;;
--------------------------------
Doesn't work with Individual Shadow Ops for LW2 Classes.
If you want to use Shadow Ops classes you can use the Shadow Ops for LW2 mod that includes all 8 classes.
"Auto Reload" mod messes up Solo Operative's main ability
"Reliable Smoke" not compatible
Kills while concealed may not add +1 aim. It's possibly related to "Musashi’s Stealth Overhaul", but it's unconfirmed as of yet.

If you find any more irregularities please let me know so I can update this list.

--------------------------------
;;;;;;;;;;PCS Issue;;;;;;;;;;;;
--------------------------------

The Solo Operative Soldier cannot use PCS upgrades. In some cases trying to add a PCS upgrade to a Solo Operative class soldier will cause the game to crash. There is a relatively easy (4-step) workaround described in the comments. You just need to add the code for Combat Sims (PCS upgrades) to the code. I haven't done this myself because I don't have the 40GB Toolkit right now.

------------------------------
Please Like so more people can enjoy this LW2 mod. Happy hunting!

@Sauzer Oh that's awful! That hasn't happened on my end. Are you using any mods that aren't in my "ESSENTIAL MODS" and/or "NON-ESSENTIAL MODS" lists linked in the mod's description above. Maybe we can track down what's causing this...
This class itself doesn't change any of the PCS code at all. The only thing that was wrong was the comment I made below. It's likely caused by a different mod.

Tanks for help !
My problem occurs when i try to put PCS into other non "Solo operative class"

@Sauzer yes, this is a mistake on my part, but it can be easily fixed on your end with these 4 steps. I'll add a note to the description.

Step 1: Go to...
\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1695897994\Config\XCFClasses_LW2

Step 2: Open up...
XComClassData.ini using Notepad or something similar.

Step 3: See...
the first line with "aStatProgression=((StatType=eStat_Offense,StatAmount=20), etc.."

Step 4: Simply add (StatType=eStat_CombatSims,StatAmount=1), Make sure it has a comma and () like the others. Order shouldn't matter here, but it's usually right before eStat_HP.

Or don't try to add a PCS slot to the Solo Operative Class soldiers.
I've played for many hours with this class without doing the fix above and it's not crashing for me.

Either I missed it or I'm just dumb. What does the hardcore ability actually do other than put your ace in the med-bay after each mission. There's virtually nothing writting about it and no way to activate it. It seems like its useless.

Shining One, thank you! I’m not sure what is causing kills not to add to aim specifically. I did a mission with a different Ace recently and wondered if kills made while remaining in stealth (using Musashi’s stealth overhaul with suppressors and silent takedowns) were the problem. Kills while in stealth didn’t add aim sure enough, but that didn’t change once the Ace was revealed and continued murderin’. So I’m not sure what the issue is. In any case thanks very much for the mod and your help in trying to repair the effects of whatever conflict my game is having.

Part 1 of 2
@gzl5000, Hi there! It’s always -7 aim at mission start. However every kill *should* provide +1 aim. As long as you get 7 or more kills on every Ace mission you should be fine. I didn't realize that some kills didn't provide +1 aim, that's new to me. If you notice what kills aren't being included please let me know.

Let's see...If you've done 15 missions (guess) with the Ace and you have 53 kills, that would be -52 aim, but I don't know how many you've done.

To fix your current game since your Ace is pretty much useless now, you want to edit the ini file to give your Ace aim when you deploy. That way you can set it to +40 at mission start and only deploy your weak Ace. Should be pretty balanced then, just make a shortcut to the folder on your desktop so you can change it back afterword. If you save after the mission, your stats from the mission will be saved.
