Save Weapon (Give Weapon supplement)

Description
Saves items created with the GiveWeapon mod and loads them into your inventory next time you launch the game. See the in-game mod menu for various settings.

IMPORTANT: Make sure to put this mod after the required items in your mod launcher.

Compatible with the Loadout Manager and Weapon Kill Counter mods, and also supports inventory favorites (hover an item and press F).
It will also keep track of equipped cosmetics from PropJoe's Give Hats, Skins & Portraits mod.

Chat commands are included to offer some control over saved items.

Command list:
- /sw_save_last (saves last created unsaved weapon)
- /sw_save_%item_name% (saves a specified unsaved item, useful if auto-save is off - start typing and auto-fill will help you)
- /sw_delete_last (deletes last created item)
- /sw_delete_%item_name% (deletes specified item - auto-fill will show options when you start typing)
- /sw_undo (undoes the last deletion in case you messed up)

Data is saved in: /Users/YourNameHere/AppData/Roaming/Fatshark/Vermintide 2/user_settings.config
Open in a text editor and search/ctrl+f for "saved_items" to find the entries, should you want to.

No, saved items can't be loaded on the Official realm.

does the stuff save when you go into a non modded server?

I fixed it. So an entry kept appearing in the user_config file called "slot_skins" where it has all the characters & whatever modded weapon you've equipped them with. I removed that entry & the error disappeared. Maybe it has to do with changing hero skins ? I don't know.

Hi there ! Love your mod but I need some help, please. I keep getting this error whenever I start up modded realm:

[SaveWeapon][ERROR] Previous session's equipped item ID is invalid (wh_zealot: a long alphanumeric code)

This mod is NOT sanctioned. Since it can be used to cheat items into your inventory, it never will be.

Oh, and there's also the chat commants (see the mod description on this page) though they're pretty clunky to use, especially if you want to remove a lot of items. Just bind the 'delete item' hotkey, it's the simplest.

The mod supports setting a hotkey for deleting a modded item by hovering it in the inventory view and pressing the key. (It won't work on "legit" items, don't worry.)
If you go to the in-game mod options (press F4 to open VMF), then find the settings for this mod, you can set the keybind there.

Another way is to find the "user_settings.config" file (on Windows, can be found in "C:/Users/YourNameHere/AppData/Roaming/Fatshark/Vermintide 2" by default).

You can open this file in a text editor and edit/remove the saved mod data manually. Search/ctrl+F for "saved_items" until you find a list of a bunch of items with their traits.

I'd recommend making a backup of the file if you're not already comfortable with editing stuff like this. (Don't do it while the game is running, or the game will overwrite your changes.)
