Reversible Tram Track

Description
[www.paypal.com]

That's an asset of the tram network with all lanes changed from Forward to Avoid Backward and vice versa. This tracks should allow the trams to get reversed when a new AI with this feature gets released. Should not work with current mods and game version.

T.J. Shi & toubieh: I realise that in some other countries the trams only travel in one direction, that's why in my comment I specified "As a Melburnian" it is unrealistic, because the tram network in Melbourne (largest in the world) is entirely bidirectional, so recreating a bidirectional tram network with loops is unrealistic.

@PistonTrent:
Actually trams and LRTs in Hong Kong are all single-ended. Guess it's a nice way to save costs for vehicle manufacturing.

will this be obsolete now that there is a new reversible tram mod?

I really can't understand why CO don't add this function.

@PistonTrent:

Well. at least in Germany they do. Really often actually. The city in whoch I live even just bought new trams which can only drive in one direction:

Bi-Direction ends are possible, however the game expects another piece at the end creating the annoying pop up complete the track

Finally, whenever this is made possible we can now have realistic turnarounds. (have a turnaround at the last stop on one side for instance. For reference you can look up the hudson bergenline Light Rail stations Tonnelle, Hoboken and 8th st. The loop at Tonnelle although used, I assume it's just so the drivers don't have to get out since other two end stops don't have a loop

@PistonTrent:

I completely agree with you. Bidirectional trams are one of the most essential additions. I don't know why CO keep releasing patches every time a new DLC comes out, but they never fix this issue! We all need to lobby them to fix it. It can't be that hard. All the other forms of rail transport in this game can do it.

Ability for bidirectional trams to reverse back out of the last stop on a line should be an essential addition to the game. It's so unrealistic (as a Melburnian) having to make trams loop around at the end, when they just don't do that in real life.
