Description
Welcome to Project NARC or Nano's "Armor Revisioned" Compilation,

this mod is mainly dedicated to reducing the amount of clipping across both vanilla armour pieces
and those added by various different mods, effectively making them all visually compatible with
each other and vanilla Kenshi assets. Secondarily a single go-to place for mesh- and clipping
fixes also helps keeping the load order clean of too many conflicting vanilla edits.

Right now, all it does is make all vanilla and modded variants of Samurai Clothpants and
Legplates use their existing overlap meshes for vanilla and modded variants of coats, like those
added in Dread Gear and Holy Chest Plate variants like the Dragon Ninja Chest Plate.

I also updated "The Dust King" and "Black Dragon Ninja Armour" to 1.0 with the
permission of Stupendous Man.

I actually make use of the Change Notes, so please have a look there to see exactly what I did
and when I did it.

No import necessary for the time being.

WARNING
While I finally had some time to test the changes I made in-game I may
still have missed something so if anything looks funny, please feel free to
tell me in the Bug Reports.

If you do not use all of the mods listed below you will get a warning in the launcher but that is all.
There should be no issues cropping up in game, it's just a way for the game to tell you that there
are a bunch of "undefined references" attached to vanilla items. Since those references lead to
mod-added items that you may not use the game won't find them. The only thing I can think of
that this may affect are load times. If so it'll be barely noticeable, if at all.

REVISIONED MODS

None of these mods is specifically required for NARC to work. You can be subscribed to all,
some or just one of those and still benefit from NARC. Not using all of them will only mean you
get a bunch of missing reference errors when looking at my work in FCS.
Again, you technically do not need any of the above mods. Even if you are
only subbed to NARC the only thing that happens is you get a whole bunch of nothing
and I get a sub thinking this mod doesn't do anything. Because it actually really
doesn't other than fix stuff with other stuff that's already there and create a whole
bunch of references across mods and vanilla. Right now, this is essentially nothing
more than a glorified communication hub for other mods to communicate with each other
and vanilla Kenshi behind the scenes.

If you don't find your favorite armour mod included that just means that I either lack the ability to
do anything about the clipping for now or just simply haven't had the time to include it yet. I am
definitely open to any suggestions though. If you know of a mod that you think needs to be
NARCified or are a mod author yourself and want to unload some tedious busywork on me
- leave a comment below.
Or better yet, leave a comment in the Suggestions thread. For a cleaner comment section! o/ o/ o7

Sadly, my ability to vanquish clipping is limited for now to items Lo-Fi provided us with overlap
meshes for in addition to their regular meshes. For the leg slot these seem to be, as far as I can
tell, Samurai Clothpants and Samurai Legplates only. Please keep that in mind. Until I figure my
way through Blender there is simply nothing I can do to rectify that.

IMPORTANT
Be sure to load this after any of the listed mods in the launcher. This means NARC will likely have
to be very far down your load order especially if you use GenMod. In addition to editing those
mods NARC also touches some vanilla assets. So far this has only been light and managed
almost entirely through references so it should be pretty much compatible with every
other mod.

PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
Eventually I want NARC to include overlap meshes for most, if not all leg pieces using the vanilla
meshes for Drifter's Pants, loincloths, cargo- and halfpants, Gis, etc. as well as a variety of
different boots and ultimately some of the more popular armour mods out there (Gusoku Armor Set,
pants added in Patchwork Armour, More Plate Options, etc.) so y'all can mix and match pieces of
different armour sets to your heart's content without worrying over clipping issues.

This is a MASSIVE goal and will take a lot of time to achieve, if I ever do. Not least because I don't
know sh!te about 3D modelling. I'm good at fixing things. Creativity is not really one of my strong suits.
Any and all help anyone of you can provide in this department is deeply welcome.

You'll find a rough roadmap in the discussions which is likely to change whenever I get a new influx
of ideas or actually get things done for once.

CREDITS
This is, in essence just a submod, albeit a very ambitious one, so all credits for the original work go
to the authors of the parent mods;
Seelenschwarz
MreDread
oi__io
Stupendous Man
OMOCHI

Because I know this question will eventually be posed - you'll find a full list of mods used in my
screenshots with links in the Discussions tab. Go pay them a visit and sub to their mods, they are
absolutely worth it!

Read the description Kowalth, you don't need to use those other mods to use this mod. Even if the game says you do, you can just ignore the warning and keep going.

I actually used this for Dread Gear only, but it asks for too many dependencies.

GPU went up in smoke. In case anyone was wondering. CPU looks like it suffered heat damage because I'm an idiot and while I'm at it I better refill my water cooling. Just to be safe. So, yeah. Soon(tm)

Hey'all! Sry for the long hiatus but my PC is dead and has been for a while. I've got about 10 left thumbs when it comes to smartphones so dont expect a lot of tezting from while I tinker away unhappily. However, I see no reason why Fixing Clipping Issues should be incompatible with my mod. NARC doesnt add custom meshes right now. Once I can get back into it I'll see about adding timor's meshes to NARCs integrated mods and, yes, also Hunter Armor eventualy ^^

Empress Fordola May 14, 2019 @ 11:18am
nvm i got it, was the load order
Empress Fordola May 14, 2019 @ 10:57am
this is the only mod having olive color in the modlist, any idea why?
makes me wonder if its not right in the load order or something... but out of 100+ mods, just 1?

Hi, I made overlap meshes for all vanilla pants and boots "fixing clipping issues". If you want to you can use parts of my mod in your one, that way this mod would fix clipping issues between equipment from different mods:)

Is this mod compatible with "Fixing Clipping Issues"?
