Description
This mod adds the UH-1Y and UH-1N helicopters, built from Arma 2 assets. The UH-1N also comes in three configurations: USMC (with RWR, missile warning, flares, etc), USAF (without RWR, missile warning, or flares), and "Old" (no sensors atall, no flares, no copilot FLIR). Each option comes in an unarmed(no weapons), "Armed"(pylon mounted rockets), and a door gunner version (pylon rockets, plus M240 for UH-1N, M134 minigun for UH-1Y).

Doors can be closed(Except on door gunner versions), custom animations for ACE fastrope are supported(except on the old UH-1N), they all support optionally transporting cargo with Vehicle in Vehicle, sling loading, and FFV. The "skid" FFV seats require the doors to be open(and on the UH-1N, the bench seats removed in "cargo mode"), then you can use the "toggle FFV" action to sit on the side and shoot.

Compared to the UH-1N, the UH-1Y is nearly twice as heavy, can carry more load, has a higher top speed, reduced IR signature(for weapon locks), better armor (rotors can survive a direct hit from an autocannon round, plus other improvements), better crew protection(reduced crash damage to crew, armored pilot/copilot seats), but two less seats in passenger mode. To better fit current day configurations, the UH-1N cargo mode does not remove the front passenger seats, so its cargo space is smaller.

Included are Hydra 70 (unguided) and APKWS (guided) rockets. They can be mounted in pods of 7 or 19, and have both HE and anti-armor warhead options. The copilot FLIR has laser designator and searchlight, and collision lights plus a basic interior light are included.


There's a lot of work left to be done on these, but I thought I'd release them as-is since I'm taking a break for now. There's no advanced flight model, and the basic model handling hasn't been tuned either. The flip-down sight will veer off when you're making sharp turns, and the HUD isn't perfectly aligned either. The UH-1N weight/handling reflects the "base" configuration, and might not accurately reflect the USMC and USAF versions with added avionics and equipment.

This mod also includes armed(door miniguns+ramp gun) and unarmed CH-47Fs, with cargo/passenger mode toggling. The ramp can be raised/lowered. There is also a bell 412, in "PMC"(fastrope capable) and civil(no fastrope) versions.

Thanks so much for making this standalone pack, really have a hard time downloading the 7GB or so needed to get the same vehicle (RHS/CUP).

Is there any instructions on how to use the cargo feature? Can't seem to find an interaction.

Just downloaded the mod, but the CH-47Fs will not accept crates in cargo mode. Ideas?

and thanks for answering. your mod is the one i have waited for the most. i love 80s-90s helos. the November is my all time favorite chopper. and since yours is the best mod for it, id love for it to have all the options. Thank you so much for your work

any plans at least to make multiple optiongs for like miniguns, .50s and 240s with the option to put diffrent rocket pylons(since those ARE optionable in the pylon settings?) Id love if you made an asymetrical loadout with 240 on one side and .50 on the other. I only ask because idont have the knolege to chage the weps in the configs

doing pylons for side weapons wouldn't work. One could theoretically just hard-embed every weapon option into the same model, and swap the models/assigned weapons with a script, but you'd be giving up most of the weapon animations.

Great job on the UH-1N. I love that you actually modelled it correctly(ish). i like that the fuse is shorter than the Yankee, and the vert stab is correct and the boom slopes up like the N. My only gripe is that under the exhausts is pretty bland. In the real UH-1N there is a vent or grate that would really fill out that back area. Any plans for other weapons on the Crew Chief/gunner positions? Id love to have that be modifiable via the pylon editor to have asymetrical loadouts (i.e. mini gun on one side and .50 ont he other). I know requests are frowned upon, so just consider it a suggestion. Again, great job. Best UH-1N in arma(better than Grumpy Rhino's in my opinion)
