Winning achievements - way to victory

Mission to Mars
Win a regular game with a Science victory on any difficulty with any leader.

To get this achievement as soon as possible, for sure start your game from Information Era.
Scientific victory is split into three main objectives - each of them requires several steps to complete themselves.

3 main objectives:



To complete objective 1 (launch a satellite), you must:

• 1. Build a Spaceport district in your city.
  
• 2. In city where Spaceport district is built, choose Launch Earth Satellite project from the production menu.

To complete objective 2 (land a human on the Moon), you must:

• 1. Research Satellites on the Technology Tree.
  
• 2. Then you will be able start 'Begin a Launch Moon Landing' project from city with a Spaceport.

To complete objective 3 (establish a Martian Colony), you must:

• 1. Research Nuclear Fusion on the Technology Tree first.
  
• 2. Start the 'Launch Mars Reactor' project from city with a Spaceport.
  
• 3. Research Robotics on the Technology Tree.
  
• 4. Start the 'Launch Mars Habitation' project from city with a Spaceport.
  
• 5. Research Nanotechnology on the Technology Tree.
  
• 6. Begin the 'Launch Mars Hydroponics' project from any city with a Spaceport.

After Launch Marc Hydroponics project is complete then you win in science way. It's pretty easy on Settler difficulty.



Veni, vidi, vici
Win a regular game with a Domination victory on any difficulty with any leader.

I recommend you create your own game with settings as follows: Settler difficulty level, Duel Map, Pangea, Information Start Era, disable all win ways except for Domination and set no turn limit and no barbarians. You get 4 settlers in the beginning - create 4 cities. Important: you are going to build atomic bomb so you need uranium resourse within your borders. In one city choose Manhattan Project as production. Build Aerodrome and at least one Bomber: the best in city closest to your enemy's capital. In meantime build several units which are able to conquer city and locate them near your enemy's capital. After Manhattan Project is complete, choose Build Nuclear Device project as production. After it's complete, nuke opponent's capital and conquer it using units located nearby.



Nirvana
Win a regular game with a Religious victory on any difficulty with any leader.

Create your own game, set Duel Map, Settler difficulty, no barbarians, Classical Era as start era, Philip II as a leader (recommended) and as your opponent AI choose Kongo, as they can't generate a Great Prophet and therefore they can not form their own religion. Disable all victory conditions except for Religious Victory. Build Holy Site, invest in Moksha governor promotions (if you play as Spain with Philip II leader) and gain as many Faith points as you can and you win really quickly. I win within 15-20 minutes and even did not purchase any missionaires.



Buying Your Blue Jeans and Listening to Your Pop Music
Win a regular game with a Culture victory on any difficulty with any leader.

I recommend you gain this achievement together with "Selfie" achievement (Win a regular game with a Culture victory with your leader in the game as your opponent as well). You have to set Duel map and choose opponent leader the same as your leader. Remember if you choose tourism/culture civ, e. g. France or China then your opponent will be focused on culture as well so it can be tricky. Remember to turn off all win conditions except for Culture Victory. Turn off barbarians, select settler difficulty and set no turn limit to make it easier. In opposite to Civ V, culture victory I find as quite difficult to gain. Culture Points and amount of Tourists are your goal here. You for sure need to focus on building as many wonders as you can and great person points spend on Great Writers, Artists and Musicians. Apart from, use policy cards which increase tourism/culture. Keep in mind that trade routes and being of suzerain of Culture city-states give you more Culture points. Entertainment districts and water parks can provide culture points and tourists as well. In the victory panel you are able to check how many tourists you need to win. I played on Duel Map as Wilhelmina (my only opponent was Wilhelmina as well) on Settler Difficulty, started with Industrial Era. I reached Atomic era and still did not win. During my game I built all wonders and buildings/districts which provide culture points/tourists which I was able to and still did not win. So I decided to build nuclear bombs and conquer all opponent's cities apart from capital. That worked for me, tourists have started to increasing pretty quick and I finally won and got achievement.

Other achievements

If You Build It, They Will Come
Have 6 Improvements at one time.

Probably the first achievement you will get. After you found a city, you have to build 6 improvements (like stone, bananas etc.) at one time.


A Revolution Without Dancing
Change your government.

It's storyline achievement, so if you play any game from ancient era, you for sure don't avoid this one.
You will get achievement if you change your government e.g. to Autocracy.


Escort Service
Put two units into a formation.

Move civil unit (e.g. builders or settler) into tile where any military unit is already stationed there. Select military unit and press button which is marked in red below:





Everything is Awesome!!!
At the start of the turn have an Ecstatic city.

Your city must have at least +3 amenities. You for sure get this achievement during your game. Amenity level you can increase e.g. by building entertainment district or luxury resources.


Land Party
Play a multiplayer game.

Just start a multiplayer game. You don't have to win the game to get this achievement.


Naming Rights
Name a unit.

To change unit's name it has to gain two promotions. After your unit gain enought fight experience you can upgrade it on higher level. If your unit has flag with number 2 this button will be available to change the unit's name:





For Queen and Country
Playing as England on a Huge map, have a city on every continent at the start of the turn.

Create your own game and go to Advanced Setup. Select Victoria as your leader (England), Map size: huge, Map: Pangea, Start era: Information era. Remove all your opponents except for one. Select checkbox "No barbarians". Due to you start from information era, you get 4 settlers in the beginning. Found your 1 city and build Space Port. After that select "Lauch Earth Sattelite" project - your entire map will be visible if it's complete and you will know where other continents are located. In meantime send your units and other settlers in order to searching other continents. Next to mini-map in bottom-left corner of the screen click eyeglass button and choose "Continent" to figure out if any other continents you discovered. If yes - create city on another continent. After Launch Earth Satellite project is complete, just create one city on each continent. If you have one city on each continent, press next turn button.


Walk Like an Egyptian
As Egypt build a Sphinx adjacent to the Pyramids both on Floodplains.

Sphinx is unique building of Egypt so start a game with Cleopatra as your leader. During your game research Masonry to unlock Pyramids. You have to found a city nearby at least two tiles with floodplains and desert (as Pyramids can be build only on desert). As first on one tile you need to build Pyramids (via city) and on the second tile build Sphinx using builders. You might don't get this achievement if you build Sphinx as first, so firstly build Pyramids. Important note (thanks @raycapan): Sphinx and Pyramid HAVE TO be build on desert floodplains.






2016 Ready
Playing as Brazil, complete both Estadio Do Maracana and Christo Redentor in one city.

Create a new game and set Pedro II as your leader. To get this achievement quite quick, set start era to atomic era - then you will be able to build Christo Redentor wonder immediately. Follow these steps:

1. Found a city nearby at least one hill - Christo Redentor wonder must be located on hills.
2. Choose Christo Redentor wonder as production in your city.
3. Select from Civics Tree Professional Sports - it's obligatory to unlock Estadio Do Maracana wonder. Found other cities to get cultural points in order to speed up getting this.
4. When Christo Redentor is complete, build Street Carnival in the same city as wonder. In Brazil Street Carnival replaces Entertainment Complex, which is necessary to build Estadio Do Maracana.
5. Build Zoo within Street Carnival.
6. Build Stadium within Street Carnival.
7. When Professional Sports idea is completed, build Estadio Do Maracana - it must be located on flat area next to Entertainment Complex.


Luftballons
Use a bomber class unit to detonate a nuclear device, as long as its base and 9 Observation Balloons are located on the continent of Nena at the time of detonation.

The most difficult part of this achievement is have a luck to find Nena continent which is rather rare continent. I recommend you just keep restarting game until Nena is respawned. If you start game from Information Era you can work on Manhattan Project immediately. Remember that you need uranium resource to product atomic bomb. In meantime build 9 Observation Ballons and locate them on Nena continent. Complete 'Build Nuclear Device' project and build Aerodrome and Bomber in your city which has to be located on Nena as well as observation ballons. Then nuke some opponent city using Bomber. In my case achievement didn't pop when I nuked my own city - I had to nuke other AI's city.


Seven Wonders of the Post-Apocalyptic World
Launch a weapon of mass destruction and have it pillage seven wonders.

You have to build 7 Wonders, so you can't start your game just from Information Era to get Nuclear Fusion technology quick. The latest era you can start is Modern Era, but I recommend you start from Industrial era due to some wonders terrain requirements (e.g. Cristo Redentor from modern era need to be next to Hills) and race with your opponent (so the best set duel map and settler difficulty).

Just in beginning of your game as technology select Nuclear Fusion (from Information era, not Atomic) from Technology Tree - it will be researched in the fastest way:



It's really difficult (or maybe just impossible) to get this achievement using nuclear bomb because it has 1 tile range only. Thermonuclear bomb has range = 2. So it's important that you have to build 7 Wonders close to each other within thermonuclear range:



Operation Ivy Project allows you create a thermonuclear bomb. Before nuke you need build Aerodrome, Jet Bomber and have uranium resources as well. If you are ready, just send bomb in the center of your wonders.

Civilization VI - regular game achievements - part 5

New Orleans Style Spanish Rice
Become Suzerain of a City-State.

To become a suzerain of a city-state, you have to send at least 3 envoys there. If city-state has already a suzerain, then win this AI which send more envoys.



Flight Slingulator
Airlift a level 3 Slinger.

Due to Slinger is weak unit, I recommend you create other units before and put it in combat to avoid die. If you gain enough exp in fight, promote the unit. Keep in mind that if you have a promotion waiting to be used, you can not get more exp for that unit until you choose a promotion. Don't turn off barbarians in your game settings. If you get 3 promotions, build aerodrome in 2 cities and airlift unit from 1 city to another.


Trans-Siberian Railroad
Playing as Russia, have a city that is at least 60 tiles away from your capital, connected by a Trade Route and road at the start of the turn.

This for sure won't be fast and easy. Create a game with following settings:

• select Peter as your leader (Russia)
  
• huge map - lot of space is what you need the most
  
• inland map - to avoid sea tiles
  
• remove all your opponents (leave only 1) and City-States, you don't need be confused by them
  
• information era start - you can quick complete Launch Earth Satellitle project to discover whole map to make cities replacement easier
  
• turn off all victory conditions except for Domination. If you select Settler difficulty no one should declare a war
  
• turn off barbarians - to get it easier
  
• turn off turn limit

You have to create Trade Route 60 tiles away from your capital (not just between two cities) so place your capital carefully. Send your settler on the edge of map and create capital. Trade Routes have 15 tiles range so create your next cities with max 14 tiles between them. I recommend create your cities in straight line if possible. You need only one trader - send him progressively from capital to the next city one by one.



City of Kongo
Playing as Kongo, have a capital city with a population of 30.

Create your own game and set Mvemba a Nzinga as your leader. Before you found a capital, look around and try locate it nearby Rainforests and Wheat/Rice. Found several cities and build commercial and harbour districts in them in order to increase domestic Trade Routes amount. From your capital, send all traders you have to your other cities to get additional food. For sure use Collectivization policy card which gives +4 food from domestic trade routes (this card it's available from Modern Era if you have Class Struggle Civic). If you are close to population of 30, chopping rainforests might be helpful.



Arabian Knights
Conquer a city with a Mamluk.

Mamluk is a unique unit of Arabia. Create your own game, set Saladin as your leader (Arabian Empire). Set Settler difficulty and Renessaince era start - you will be able build Mamluk units immediately. Build up army with at least one Mamluk unit and conquer any city using Mamluk unit in the last hit. It can be City-State as well.


Selfie
Win a regular game with a Culture victory with your leader in the game as your opponent as well.

Create your own game and select the same opponent leader as your leader (preferable is Duel map). Read content in this guide under Buying Your Blue Jeans and Listening to Your Pop Music achievement (Win a regular game with a Culture victory on any difficulty with any leader) to get more tips.



Gift From the Storm God
Receive a Strategic Resource from Hattusa.

Hattusa is a city-state so you need to find it on your map. After you find it, send Envoys until you are a suzerain of Hattusa. After that you quicly get some resource from it. Keep in mind you will get a resource which you have already discovered but you don’t actually possess. If achievement does not pop up, you probably possess all strategic resources which Hattusa can give you.



Nobody Expects the Spanish Inquisition
Launch an Inquisition as Spain.

Create new game and set Philip II as your leader (Spain). Research Astrology to allow build Holy District. Firstly you need to found Pantheon and then found a Religion. If you gain enough Faith Points, the Great Prophet appears and then you can found a Religion. After that is enough to build a temple in Holy Site and purchase Apostle by Faith Points and push "Launch Inquisition" button. Remember you have to have Theology unlocked in Civic tree in order to build Temple in Holy Site.





Legends of the Hidden Temple
Build a Colossal Head adjacent to a Holy Site with a Temple.

At first: you need to be the Suzerain of the city state La Venta to have ability to build Colossal Head, it's important. Research Astrology to allow build Holy District, preferable is Renaissance era start. Once you found Pantheon you are able to found a Religion. If you gain enough Faith Points, the Great Prophet appears and then you can found a Religion. Unlock Theology in civic tree in order to build a Temple in Holy Site. Then just train or buy builder and build Colossal Head next to Holy Site.




Island Hoping
Win a regular game with a Domination victory on any difficulty with any leader on a Huge Island Plates map.

Create own game: select any leader, choose Map Size as Huge, Map as Island Plates, Information Era start, no barbarians, no turn limit and turn off all victory conditions except for Domination Victory. However, remove all opponent AIs except for one (1 vs 1) so you are going to conquer only 1 capital. Rush nukes (Manattan project is needed) and Satellite project. Build Aerodrome and at least one Bomber in the city which is close to opponent's capital - satellite project helps you get to know where you should locate the city. In meantime build several units which are able to conquer city and locate them near your enemy's capital. After Manhattan Project is complete, choose Build Nuclear Device project as production. After it's complete, nuke opponent's capital and conquer it using units located nearby.



A Case for War
Declare a formal war.

There is something new in Civilization VI - kinds of Wars. To declare a formal war you have to firstly either denouce your opponent or he must denounce you. Instead of waiting for denouncing just do it:



After that make Casus Belii and wait 5 turns. After that you will be able to declare a formal war.

Epic of Gilgamesh
As Sumeria, have the first Great Work of Writing.

Choose Gilgamesh as your leader (Sumeria) and start your game from Modern Era and set Settler difficulty level to get it easier. You need to focus on Culture Points (build Theater Square districts and buildings there, e.g. museums) and Great Writer Points (select Divine Spark pantheon and use below policy card).



If you have enough Great Writer points, recruit him. Achievement pops when you activate Great Writer in Theater Square district (and of course any AI before you did it).



12 Olympians
Have 12 Policy Slots as Greece.

Create new game and set Gorgo or Pericles as a leader (Greece). Choose Settler difficulty and Pangea Map. If you don't select Duel Map, remove all opponents and remain only one AI. To have 12 Policy Slots you need to have Third tier government (8 policy slots - Communism, Democracy or Fascism) and 3 bonus government policy slots of 4 below Wonders:

• Alhambra (+1 Military policy slot), requires Castles technology. Must be built on Hills adjacent to an Encampment district.
  
• Forbidden City (+1 Wildcard policy slot), requires Printing technology. Must be built on flat land adjacent to the City Center.
  
• Potala Palace (+1 Diplomatic policy slot), requires Astronomy technology. Must be built on a Hill adjacent to a Mountain.
  
• Big Ben (+1 Economic policy slot), requires Economics technology. Must be built next to a River adjacent to a Commercial Hub district with a Bank.

Greece has +1 bonus Policy slot, so if you build 3 of 4 mentioned wonders and set one of third tier government (Communism, Democracy or Fascism gives you 8 slots) you have 12 policy slots in total and achievement will pop up.

Important note: this achievement seems to be bugged and if it doesn't pop immediately after 12 slots filled in, it should pop after switching to which ever late game government you weren't using yet.


We Are The Champions
Win a regular game with a Religious victory with your dominant religion being Zoroastrianism and at the time of victory you are the Suzerain of Zanzibar.

Create your own game, select Large Map, to have it simpler leave only 1 AI and remove the rest, start from Renaissance Era and disable all victory conditions except for Religious Victory. Found Zoroastrianism religion and send some units to explore terrain in order to find Zanzibar City-State. If you find it, send as many Envoys there as you have. Build Holy Site districts and buildings which grants you Faith Points and expand your religion to win a game. After win, you gain achievement.



Silver Anniversary
Possess 6 Silver luxury resources at the start of the turn.

Silver resources you can find on tundra or desert tiles. On tundra tiles it occurs in groups. If you find enough, use your builders to build improvements on these tiles.





Loire Valley
Create 5 Châteaux in one city with the Wine resource.

Châteaux is unique improvement for France civilization. Start game with Caterine de Medici (France) and send your units to explore terrain. If you find wine resource and river nearby, found a city there. Important note: Châteaux can be build only on tiles adjacent to the river. Use your builders to build Châteaux and improve Wine resource. If you build 5 within one city (with Wine resource), achievement will pop up.







Repo Man
Steal a Great Work of Art and don't get caught.

Create your own game, go to Advanced Settings Tab and select Culture Victory only in order to other civs go for culture win. You can start from any of later era to have spies available but it does not really matter as you need to wait for other civs to get some Work of Art. If it is available, send your spy and select "Great Work Heist" mission.



If I sent spy with level 2, I had 50% chance for success and it wasn't enough. Despite of mission successful (picture 1 below) I got following pop-up window (picture 2 below) and achievement won't pop-up:





I sent spy with level 3 to another city. I had 66% chance for success. Second time I got only one pop-up window and achievement will pop-up:



Cryptography Diplomatic Policy grants you a +1 boost to offensive operations, so it can be helpful.



District 12
Build every district type in one city and the Colosseum.

You can not just start a game from Information era to have all district types available because you need build Colosseum Wonder first, which is available in Medieval Era. I found note, that Colosseum is removed if the game started after the Renaissance Era. But if I started in Renaissance Era it wasn't available. So the best era start is Medieval Era if you don't want spend too much time on gain this achievement. Select "Standard Rules" in advanced settings during creating game. Be carefully to found your city to get this goal, you have to build all district types and some of them have restrictions.

Districts types and their restrictions if exist:

• Aqueduct - must be placed adjacent to the City Center and either a River, Mountain, Oasis or Lake.
  
• Aerodrome
  
• Campus
  
• Commercial district

Crouching Tiger Hidden Cannon
Playing as China, end a turn with 5 Crouching Tigers on Great Wall tiles.

Crouching Tigers is unique medieval era unit for China civilization, however Great Wall is unique improvement for China. Create new game, set Qin Shi Huang as a leader (China) and Renaissance era start - to be able train Crouching Tigers immediately. Using builders build 5 Great Walls, it must be next to your borders. You don't have to build 5 in row, next to each other. In meantime train 5 Crouching Tigers units and after it's complete, put units to improved tiles.



Scythian Horse Rush
Playing as Scythia have 10 Saka Horse Archers in your army.

Create new game, select Tomyris as your leader (Scythia) and Classical Era start to be able train Saka Horse Archers instantly. Because you get 2 units each time you train Saka Horse Archers, you can train them only 5 times (10 units in total), then achievement will pop up.

Civilization VI - regular game achievements - part 7

Pizza Party
Activate Leonardo da Vinci in New York with Great Works from Michelangelo and Donatello -- and a sewer -- all in that city.

One of achievement you need have some luck to accomplish. Build cities until you get New York and built sewer in it. Michel Angelo and Donatello are both Renaissance artists but apart from those 2 there are 2 more. You won't be able have Renaissance Great Works from each of artists due to time (on Standard Speed), so you need have a luck to get two Great Artists, one Michel Angelo and one Donatello. You can select Marathon Speed in game to slow era progression down, then maybe it's possible to have more Great Artists from Renaissance Era (I didn't try so I can not confirm). You can spend Faith Points to buy one of them and cross fingers that next will be second Great Person you need ;) Use Policy Card to grant you +2 Great Artists per turn. Use Theater Projects in your cities to boost Great Artists points as well. Activate you Great Artists in New York city. Da Vinci is Great Engineer, if you have him, activate him in New York city. If all rules are meet, achievement will pop up.



Viking Raid
Capture a settler with a Viking Longship.

The Viking Longship is a unique naval melee unit of the Norwegian civilization. Create new game and select Harald Hardrada as your leader. Preferable is Island Plates map with many ocean tiles. Play vs several AIs. Viking Longship is available in Ancient Era. Build several Longships and move them next to your opponents' coasts in order to find settler on coast. If you find it, put your Viking Longship next to coast's tile where Settler is located and press "Coastal Raid" button.




Huey Tlatoani
As Aztecs on a standard-sized map, attack an opponent while receiving a +16 Combat Strength bonus for having all of the luxuries.

Start new game as Montezuma leader (Aztec civilization), Standard Map (necessary!) and recommend you set abundant resources. Aztec military units get +1 Combat Strength for each different luxury resource you possess, so you need 16, not all. The list of all luxury resources you can find here: https://civilization.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Luxury_resources_(Civ6). You can gain luxuries from Great Merchants (John Spilsbury - Toys, Estée Lauder - Perfume, Levi Strauss - Jeans, Helena Rubinstein - Cosmetics) which count as well. Some of resources you can get thanks to be suzerain of City-State (Zanzibar give you Cinnamon and Cloves) - it makes getting achievement easier. Save game before you think you have 16 of those, then attack any of your enemy (it can be barbarian). If achievement pops, you had enough of them.



Third Crusade
Playing as Frederick Barbarossa, conquer the city-state of Jerusalem.

Start a game as Frederick Barbarossa (Germany civilization), Information Era start. Select Huge map and increase amount of City-States to max (24). Build Space Port and complete Launch Satellite project to have visible the whole map. Find Jerusalem City-State and send units and conquer it. If Jerusalem is not on the map, try again. It should not take you much time, I got Jerusalem during my first attempt.



Meiji Restoration
Playing as Japan, have a district with 6 adjacent unpillaged districts.

Start game as Japan (Hojo Tokimune leader) and found a city inside the land, not next to coast. Not all districts count, so preferable build 6 following districts: Commercial, Aerodrome, Theater Square, Industrial, Entertainment and Campus. The last district (Holy Site) put in the centre and build it at the end. Achievement pops 1 turn after build all districts.





Give Peace a Chance
Playing as India on a Huge map, receive +35 Faith in one turn from the Satyagraha ability.

Satyagraha is one of the Leader Bonuses from Gandhi. It rewards you +5 Faith for each civilization (including India) they have met that has founded a Religion and is not currently at war. To get +35 you need met 7 civilizations which found religion and you are not in war state. Start game from Ancient Era as Gandhi leader, select Huge Map and set Gandhi leader for all opponents. Turn off all victory conditions apart from Religion victory. During your game train some units to explore map in order to find as many civs as you can. After you found Religion you just need to wait at least 7 other civs found religion (and you are not in war state with them).



Missed That Day in History Class
Clear nuclear contamination with a Roman Legion.

Choose Trajan as your leader and start game from Modern Era - it is the last era you can start with and Legion unit is still available. Train Legion unit and keep gaining Science Points to research Nuclear Fusion technology. You are going to build atomic bomb so you need uranium resource within your borders. If Nuclear Fusion technology is completed, choose Manhattan Project as production in one of your city. Build Aerodrome and at least one Bomber. Then choose Build Nuclear Device project as production. After it's complete, nuke some place and put Legion unit on contaminated tile. Remember if your unit is on contaminated tile 2 turns it dies, so do it within 1 turn. Press button and achievement pops:





The Origin of Species
Activate Darwin adjacent to the Galapagos Islands.

Charles Darwin is an Industrial era Great scientist so start new game from Industrial Era or before. Select World Map and look for South America. Keep gaining Science points to be able recruit Darwin (if you don't have enough Science points, can purchase by money or faith). If you find Galapagos Islands, send Darwin next to it and activate.


Man on the Moon
Win a regular game with a Science victory on any difficulty with any leader with a captured Egyptian city -- having also activated Newton and Darwin.

This achievement is probably broken because I got it without activate Newton and Darwin. If it still works the same way, only what you have to do is capture Egyptian city and win with Science Victory. If you wanna conquer Egyptian city really quick, play Hot Seat game (Hot Seat game is described in the last section in the very bottom).

Civilization VI - regular game achievements - part 8

Civ 6 Civets System
Get 5 Civic boosts in 1 turn.

To get this you have to plan which boosts you are going to get. In the beginning of the game I recommend some of them (red):







I got following five:

• Build 6 Farms.
  
• Build 2 Markets.
  
• Grow a city to 10 population.
  
• Research the Astronomy technology.
  
• Build an Encampment.

I found 2 cities and build Commercial districts in each of them. I build Market in one city. I develop one city to have population close to 10. In meantime gained Science points to be close to Astronomy - if 1 turn left I changed technology. I build encampment and when 1 turn left to complete I interrupted it and put another thing into production. I created 5 farms and put builder to appropriate tile to be ready to built 6 one. If one turn left to 10 population, I put Encampment into production, Astronomy into research and pressed "next turn". I gained 3 boosts and then built farm and purchased market.





Secret Service
Have top secret access with five civilizations in one game at once.

Top Secret access is the maximum level of access and can be achieved by making an Alliance with the other civilization. Top Secret level becomes available in the Renaissance Era become available once the Printing technology is researched. My recommendation:

• set Huge Map - the more civilizations is in the game the easier is getting this achievement
  
• do NOT set Gathering Storm Ruleset - for some reasons it is really difficult to declare friendship with another civilization. However in Rise & Fall Ruleset or Standard it is piece of cake
  
• start game from Industrial Era or later - then Top Secret access is already available
  
• set Settler difficulty and no barbarians

After you found city, train some units to explore world and get to know other civilizations. You need have Alliance with 5 of them, before that you have to declare friendship. Establish Residence Embassy first to have friendly relationship (green icon). If relationship is friendly, declare friendship.





If you have declared friend, go to Alliances Tab and choose one of 5:



If civ does not accept, make this offer more attractive:



You have to do the same with 5 civilization go gain Top Secret access:



If you will play as Poundmaker and establish each of 5 Alliances (and all of them will be active) you additionally get Adamantine Confederacy achievement (As Poundmaker, have an active Alliance of every type).



Army of Cthulhu
Levy the military of Nan Madol.

To get this achievement you have to find Nan Mandol City State, be a suzerain of and once you're suzerain, just press button "Levy military". I recommend you start from Information Era and set the max amount of City States in settings (24 or 36 - don't remember).





100th Anniversary
As America make a National Park of Crater Lake and both tiles of Yosemite in one game.

This achievement might be a little bit frustrating to gain as you need lots of luck to have a map with both naturals wonders - Crater Lake and Yosemite. Fortunately it is easy workaround! You can create own map and add both wonders to map. How to do that you can find in Grinding, tricks & tips section under point 4: Creating own maps, this is the last section of this guide. Start a game from Information Era as America (Teddy Roosevelt) and use a map you've created. If you don't want to create own map, you can start a game with Large Map, rush satellites to uncover the whole map and cross fingers two wonders are on map. After you locate both wonders on the map, you need to build Holy Site and spend Faith Points to purchase two Naturalists. Then locate them next to each wonder and create National Park using button marked on the below picture. Remember, to build National Park, you must meet below requirements:

• All wonder tiles must be owned by the same city.
  
• No tile can have an Improvement or District on it.
  
• The tiles must form a (vertical) diamond shape (not a slanted diamond).

Archimedes Bath
Get 5 Tech boosts in 1 turn.

The best way to get this achievement is recruiting Abdus Salam, Great Scientist from Information Era - once he is activated, he instantly boosts 5 Technologies from Information Era and achievement pops. Instruction how to recruit him: start your game from any Era before Information one, recommended are Industrial or Modern. I started my game from Industrial Era. Select Robotics in Technology Tree. Keep gaining Science Points and try to build buildings which give you Great Scientist Points.

Important note #1: Avoid to boosting technologies from Information era. Try to avoid below activities:

• don't recruit any Spy
  
• don't build more than 2 Tanks
  
• don't build Aluminium Mine (it boosts only 1 technology, so if you really need that, go ahead)

Important note #2: Before Information Era, don't recruit any Great Scientist, just select Pass and keep those points for later.

Important note #3: Keep in mind that if you start game from Information era or you develop your science too much, then it may leads to situation when most of technologies from Information Era are already researched. At least 5 of Technologies from Information Era need to leave for boost, to get achievement by activating Abdus Salam.

Once Robotics is researched, keep selecting technologies which are not in the Information Era scope in the tree. Once Information Era is reached, you need to recruit Abdus Salam Great Scientist. Select "Pass" for any other Great Scientist, if they show up before him.




If you rectuited him, locate scientist in scientic district and trigger his ability:


Then achievement popped for me as 5 technologies for Information Era was boosted.

Australia Civilization & Scenario Pack

A Smashing Victory
Win a regular game as John Curtin.

Before you start a game, you need set John Curtin as a leader. Go to Advanced Settings tab and select him from a dropdown list. If you don't want win in a full-time game, you can quick win within 1 turn - how to do that you can find in 'Grinding, tips & tricks' tab.



Attack of the Drop Bear
Lose a unit to the perils of Australia in the Outback Tycoon scenario.

Achievement pops if one of your unit die. It's random when it happens but you for sure get it while playing this scenario. Maybe if unit is send too far away from cities it occurs often.



Quite a Crowded House
Complete an online multiplayer game of Outback Tycoon.

Start multiplayer game (e.g. Local Network). You just have to go through 60 turns, you don't have to win the game. When game ends, achievement pops.



Crow-eater Conquest
Win Outback Tycoon as South Australia.

This scenario lasts 60 turns. In the single-player version, you win by exceeding the Gold per turn threshold (which increases along with the difficulty level) before time runs out. To win:

• at Settler difficulty - you need produce at least 200 gold per turn
  
• ...
  
• at Deity - you need produce at least 900 gold per turn

But if you want to know how to win at Deity difficult having not much above 100 gold per turn see guide for Meanwhile, in Australia achievement (Win Outback Tycoon at Deity difficulty) in this section below ;)

In the multiplayer version, you win by having the highest Gold per turn from all players when time runs out.

I think this scenario (in single player version) has only one rational strategy to win - even on Deity it's not difficult. Really important is map - I had a luck and got map with a lot of forests. What should you do:

• Create cities next to forest - the more trees the better.
  
• After found first city, create 2 explorers and send them to find other forests - good location for cities. To win on settler difficulty you really don't need lot of them but on Deity for sure.
  
• Try to boost your technologies/civics if possible.
  
• Build harbour/commercial districts.
  
• Spam lot of workers - the best 2-3 next to each city. They will be needed for chop trees. If you don't have enough production, buy them. Important is to be ready before 45 turn.
  
• In meantime build some explorers to build mines and luxurious resources.
  
• If the World War happen (in 45 turn), activate these two policy cards:
  
• Start chopping trees and complete as many AIF projects as you can. In 53 turn World War II happens and gold bonus for AIF project is doubled, so you will observe significant increase your gold per turn. Activate policy card: +100% Production toward AIF projects.
  
• For the money you earned, buy next workers to chopping trees. If you have enough workers, buy traders and buildings which supply gold per turn (markets, banks, stocks)
  
• Before last turn you can change policy card to get additional gold per turn. For example, I set +6 gold per turn for each trader.

If you follow this guidelines, winning this scenario will be easy. Don't give up if you have little gold per turn at the beginning - I had only 52 gold/per turn in 41 turn. I won on Deity but had a luck with huge amount of forests (screenshot before chopping):





Revenge of the Banana Benders
Win Outback Tycoon as Queensland.

See Crow-eater Conquest achievement tips (Win Outback Tycoon as South Australia) or Meanwhile, in Australia (Win Outback Tycoon at Deity difficulty) in this section. Remember to select Queensland as your Civilization before start a game.



Sandgroper Sweep
Win Outback Tycoon as Western Australia.

See Crow-eater Conquest achievement tips (Win Outback Tycoon as South Australia) or Meanwhile, in Australia (Win Outback Tycoon at Deity difficulty) in this section. Remember to select Western Australia as your Civilization before start a game.



Gumsucker Punch
Win Outback Tycoon as Victoria.

See Crow-eater Conquest achievement tips (Win Outback Tycoon as South Australia) or Meanwhile, in Australia (Win Outback Tycoon at Deity difficulty) in this section. Remember to select Victoria as your Civilization before start a game.



Meanwhile, in Australia
Win Outback Tycoon at Deity difficulty.

To win this scenario at Deity difficult in single-player version, you need produce at least 900 gold per turn. It's not so difficult, if you will be following tips which are described in Crow-eater Conquest (Win Outback Tycoon as South Australia) achievement guide in this section.

But there is much simpler method to win at Deity. In this case you will need gain not much than 100 gold per turn. What should you do? Firstly, create a multiplayer game. Select Local Network. For your leader set Deity difficult and for each other AI choose Settler difficulty:



Start a game. Follow tips described in Crow-eater Conquest (Win Outback Tycoon as South Australia) achievement guide in this section or play your own strategy. In the multiplayer version, win AI with highest Gold per turn from all players when time runs out. I won this having above 1400 gold per turn but if I looked on statistics, the second AI has approx. 100 gold per turn:



It means you win even if you have 150, 200 gold per turn. I confirm that I won on Deity using this multiplayer settings and having 250 gold per turn. So I think each value above 100 gold per turn should work and achievement should pop.



Midnight Oil
Build an Oil Well on the final turn of the Outback Tycoon scenario.

After World War II happens (in 53 turn), research Combustion technology in Technology Tree:



After that you need to find Oil Well resources and send Prospectors (builder) to this tile. In the last turn (60 turn) just build Oil Well:





Wood for Sheep
Playing as Australia, build a Pasture over Sheep and steal an adjacent player's Lumbermill.

Start Multiplayer game >> Hot Seat mode. For first player select John Curtin, the second player does not matter. Find Sheep resource next to the forest and found 1 city per civilization to have Sheep within Australia civ borders and forests within second civ borders (purchase tiles if needed).
Use builders to build Lumber mill first:



Playing as Australia, put builder over the Sheep resource and FIRSTLY purchase all tiles nearby. Save game before building Pasture in case something goes wrong.



Then build pasture. Tile with Lumber mill should goes to Australia as it works as culture bomb:

Nubia Civilization & Scenario Pack

Before you start a game, you need set Amanitore as a leader. Go to Advanced Settings tab and select him from a dropdown list. If you don't want win in a full-time game, you can quick win within 1 turn - how to do that you can find in 'Grinding, tips & tricks' tab.


More Wind for the Wind God
Win Gifts of the Nile on any difficulty.

You have 2 options to win this scenario: either eliminate your only opponent (Egypt or Nubia) or build 7 Temples to Amon (as scenario establish). First way is faster I think but this achievement I got by building 7 Temples to Amon so describe below some tips concerns 2nd way.

As mentioned, to win scenario you need build 7 Temples to Amon in 125 turns. In this scenario you can not build any Holy Site building in production way - it can only be purchased with Faith points .

If you don't want to hurry up, set Settler difficulty before start game. Temple to Amon are located in Holy Site district. In one such district you can build only 1 Temple to Amon, so you need to have at least 7 cities with Holy Site district inside. In this scenario settlers cannot be trained. They are received after researching Medicine (2 Settlers) and certain civics:

But even if you research all of mentioned, there is still 1 settler missing. The only way is conquer City-States. I didn't conquer religious type City States as they were delivering many Faith points to me.

Steps to build Temple to Amon:
- build Holy Site district in city - it requires population of 4 but after found a city (or conquer) you have opportunity only in the beginning to build it even if population is lower than 4)
- purchase Obelisk with Faith points
- purchase with Faith points
- then you will be able to purchase Temple to Amon

It costs as follows:

To sum up, you need XXX Faith points to build Temple to Amon in 1 city. In 7 cities you have to gain XXX Faith points in total. How to gain Faith points:

1. Put your emissariuses into religious type City States. In 2nd and 3rd level you get bonus Faith points (+2 /+4) for each Holy Site district you have.



2. Don't acummulate your Faith points - spend your Faith points up to date. Each Obelisk, Nubia Temple and Temple to Amon give you additonal Faith points. If you have enough Faith points to purchase Obelisk - just buy it. The same with Nubia Temples and Temples to Amon.



Sea of the Bow
Playing Gifts of the Nile as Nubia, found a coastal city on the Mediterranean Sea.

Set Amanitore as a leader (Nubia). Mediterranean Sea is located in the north of the map. Send your settler to the north and if you find coast, found a city. In this scenario settlers cannot be trained. You can receive them after researching Medicine (2 Settlers) or following civics:



From Med to Red to the Land of the Dead
Playing Gifts of the Nile as Egypt, conquer Irem and Punt.

Start a game as Egypt (Cleopatra). Below is the map with location of two cities you have to conquer to get the achievement. Irem is the totally south and Punt on East.





Total A-Nile-hilation
Playing Gifts of the Nile as Egypt, win on Deity difficulty.

See achievement's description below, for Nubia. It works for Egypt as well.



That's Some Good Kerma
Playing Gifts of the Nile as Nubia, win on Deity difficulty.

There is simple 'trick' to win scenario on Deity but in real the level of difficulty will be as Settler difficulty. Go to Multiplayer >> Local Network and create new game with settings as below:



Play game as normal. Difficulty level during game should be similar to the Settler difficulty (I didn't notice any different but trust me - I'm definitely not a perfect Civ gamer ;). You can take a look at "More Wind for the Wind God" achievement tips in this section.


Claim the Fourth Cataract
Playing as Egypt in a regular game, conquer the original Nubian capital within 10 turns of declaring a formal war on Nubia.

Create a game with Standard Ruleset. Choose Duel map and set Cleopatra as a leader (Egypt) and Amanitore (Nubia) as your opponent. After start a game I recommend don't found a city instantly, find a capital of Nubia (Meroe) and found a city as close as possible. Purchase the tiles next to Nubia and build Camp 2 tiles away of capital. Train some catapults and archers and conquer capital after declaring formal war. You have to conquer this within 10 turns. How to declare a formal war you can find in "A Case for War" achievement description in this guide.



Pyramid Scheme
As Nubia, earn six different adjacency bonuses on a Nubian Pyramid.

Start a game playing as Nubia (Amanitore leader) and found your city on the desert to be able build Nubian Pyramid next to the city center. Below you have in a nutshell what bonuses are:



I'm not sure if the order of building districts does a matter but for sure if you build Nubian Pyramid at the end achievement won't pop up (I didn't get when build at the end). So I changed the order and I built my districts in the following order: Campus, Commercial Hub, Industrial Zone, Theater Square, then I've built Nubian Pyramid in the center and at the end Holy Site.


The 25th Dynasty
Playing as Nubia, liberate the original Egyptian capital in a liberation war with the capital's conqueror.

You won't be able get this fully on your own in Hot Seat because you need friendship for this achievement, however, Hot Seat declaration of friendship is broken. But you still can use Hot Seat (if you don't know Hot Seat ruleset, read the info in the very bottom of this guide). As 1st civilization I selected Nubia, the second one Egypt (computer will be playing as this) and the 3rd any conqueror, e.g. Russia - you will be playing as this civ as well. Don't select the Gathering Storm ruleset. Playing as Nubia declare friendship with Egypt. Then playing as Russia conquer Egypt's capital. After that, playing as Nubia declare liberation war to Russia and conquer capital from them. Achievement pops. Before start game I recommend start from any late era to be able declare liberation war (some civic is needed for that).

Khmer and Indonesia Civilization & Scenario Pack

All Beneath the Wings of Garuda
Win a regular game as Gitarja.

Before you start a game, you need set Gitarja as a leader. Go to Advanced Settings tab and select him from a dropdown list. If you don't want win in a full-time game, you can quick win within 1 turn - how to do that you can find in 'Grinding, tips & tricks' tab.



Cardamom and Mangos and Elephants
Win a regular game as Jayavarman VII.

Before you start a game, you need set Jajavarman VII as a leader. Go to Advanced Settings tab and select him from a dropdown list. If you don't want win in a full-time game, you can quick win within 1 turn - how to do that you can find in 'Grinding, tips & tricks' tab.



Thalassocratophile
Have 5 cities on landmasses 5 or less tiles with Indonesia.

Playing as Indonesia (Gitarja leader) you need to create 5 cities on land which are surrounded by water. Below is an example of perfect location. To get achievement you need to found 5 cities in such or similar location. For sure in Advanced Setting during creating new game you need to choose Archipelago Map.





What is Mind? No Matter.
Win the Path to Nirvana scenario on any difficulty.

Tips which I've used at Settler difficulty and it was enough to win scenario:

• instead of building Missionaires (you really don't need them), build Monks
  
• if you have enough Faith points, purchase religious units. Try to buy units in cities which are the closest to cities which you will be "conquering". Don't keep unused Faith points
  
• when I was playing as Indonesia at Settler difficulty I didn't notice any opponent's unit on my land so building Priests is useless in such case
  
• build up your infrastructure first. Build up commercial districts and markets quite early to get the traders out, along with granaries
  
• push out when you have a large force of Monks. In higher difficulty level - good to have backed them by Gurus

Many Signs and Wonders.
Build all 3 Wonders in the Paths to Nirvana scenario.

Not each civilization has suitable locations for 3 wonders, so choose China for this achievement. You must have 3 Civics researched: Astronomy (for Potala Palace), Craftmanship (for Mahabodhi Temple) and Construction (for Angor Wat). Build Potala Palace and Angor Wat wonders in Chang'an city (there are suitable location for those) and Mahabodhi Temple in Kaifeng city.



Raid Healer
With a Guru Heal 7 religious units with one action.

To avoid frustration, get it playing Hot Seat (in the last section in this guide there is description what's Hot Seat if you are not aware of). Playing as 1 civilization product 6 Missionaries and 1 Guru. Playing as neighboring civilization, train some Monks and hurt each of 7 units. You have to put Guru in the center and 6 missionaries next to him. Then press button to heal all units and achievement pops. There is screenshot how it must be prepared before you heal units:





Wat is Love
Build Angkor Wat and a Wat in Angkor Wat.

Angkor Wat is one of Kmer civilization cities, so you have to play as Jayavarman VII. Keep founding city until you found Angkor Wat - you can NOT just rename city, then achievement won't pop up. To avoid frustration I recommend play in Multiplayer >> Hot Seaat game on Duel map. Then Angkor Wat should be 3th or 4th your city if you don't found any city for 2nd player. When I was playing in single player I just fed up and gave up, I found 14 cities with no luck. In Angkor Wat build Angkor Wat wonder first (it is medieval wonder). When wonder is complete, build Holy Site and Prasat (replacement of Temple). Keep gaining Faith Points and when you get Great Prophet and found religion be careful to choose following belief:



At the end build Wat and you get achievement.



Try To Snatch the Pebble From My Hand
Have a Warrior Monk with 4 Promotions.

For 4 promotions your Guru has to gain lots of battle experience. The best idea is Hot Seat (if you are not aware of what is it, read the last section in this guide). Then you keep gaining experience in calm. You can use other civilizations to produce units for Guru targets. Remember Guru have special ability to heal, so preferable is train at least 2 - one for gaining experience and second for healing.



Do You Have A Moment To Talk About Salvation?
Convert 3 opposing Holy Cities in the Paths to Nirvana scenario.

Firstly I though about Holy City States but when achievement didn't pop I realized I done something wrong. Holy City means city where religion was found. The only thing what you have to do is convert 3 capitals of other civilizations. I completed this in Hot Seat, playing as China I converted Lhasa, Bikrampur and Angkor Thom cities and finally got achievement.



What is Matter? Nevermind.
Win the Path to Nirvana scenario on Deity.

You can win on Deity but playing like Settler difficulty. Select Multiplayer game and choose Local Network. Set any leader and Deity difficulty (only for you AI), for each other AI set Settler difficulty:



Play game as normal. Difficulty level during game will be the same as the Settler difficulty. You can take a look at "What is Mind? No Matter" achievement tips in this section.

Persia and Macedon Civilization & Scenario Pack

Never Lost a Battle
Win a regular game as Alexander.

Before you start a game, you need set Alexander as a leader. Go to Advanced Settings tab and select him from a dropdown list. If you don't want win in a full-time game, you can quick win within 1 turn - how to do that you can find in 'Grinding, tips & tricks' tab.



No More Worlds To Conquer
Win Conquests of Alexander on any difficulty.

To get it easier, set Settler difficulty to win the scenario. It last 60 turnsand you have to conquer each city on the map (28 in total) before the last turn ends. It sounds hard but cities are really weak and you don't need big army to conquer it. Patala might be more difficult due to Varu attack. In the beginning attack Persian cities in Anatolia step by step and in meantime improve your capital and train more units. Athens are not good target at the beginning of the game, you can conquer it later. After reaching Mesopotamia keep conquering the cities on the Mediterranean coast and Egypt. With main army go toward east. During attacking make sure Great General is always in the range of your units.



He Named Them All After Himself?
Settle four cities in Conquests of Alexander on any difficulty.

Start Conquests of Alexander scenario, select Alexander as a leader, train 3 Settlers (1 you should already have in the beginning of a game) and found 4 cities. You must conquer some cities before and raze them to have some space for your own cities.


Greatest Is As Greatest Does
Playing as Macedon, conquer a city containing both the Great Library and Great Lighthouse wonders.

Start new Multiplayer game >> Hot Seat. Start from Medieval era so both wonders will be available to build immediately. Preferable is Island Plates map. For the first player select Alexander (Macedon civilization) and for the 2nd one does not matter but make sure you set "Human" instead of Computer (AI). Playing as the another civilization than Macedon, found a city next to coast with at least two tiles with water. Build Harbor and Lighthouse in the city and after it is complete build Great Lighthouse wonder. In the same city build Campus district and Library in it. Then build Great Library wonder. After both wonders are complete, playing as Macedon just conquer the city with wonders.



You're the Demonstrably Greatest
Achieve the highest possible rank in Conquests of Alexander at Deity difficulty.

The highest possible rank is 200 and you need have it at the end of game. Each city counts as 5 points. There is 28 cities to conquer so it means you have to capture them all and apart from that, found 12 cities as well. For some reasons the last city did not count to the rank for me, so I had to found 13 cities. Keep an eye on the rank how many points you actually have and how many cities more you need. In this scenario, Multiplayer trick does not work as scenario ruleset is not available in Local Network. I couldn't find any easy workaround so far. Resplendent Panoply
Possess all of the following after conquering a city in Conquests of Alexander: Hoplite, Saka Horse Archer, Maryannu Chariot Archer, Immortal, and Varu.

To get these special units, you have to conquer following cities:
- Athens - to get Hoplites
- Pasargadae - to get Immortals
- Memphis - to get Maryannu Chariot Archer unit
- Marakanda - to get Saka Horse Archer unit
- Patala - to get Varu elephant unit

Be aware you have to possess all of mentioned unit at the same time, so all of them must be alive (if any of it is killed then achievement won't pop up).



King of the Four Corners of the World
Win a regular game as Cyrus.

Some Wine For Your Soldiers?
Playing as Persia, conquer the original Scythian capital within 10 turns of declaring a surprise war on Scythia.

Create new game and set Cyrus as your leader (Persia). Choose Duel Map and as your opponent leader select Tomyris (Scythia). Train military units and locate them nearby to Scythian capital (Pokrovka). After you declare a surprise war, you have to conquer capital within 10 turns, then achievement pops.



I Quenched Your Thirst For Blood
Playing as Scythia, recapture one of your founded cities from Persia.

Create new game and set Tomyris as your leader (Scythia). Choose Duel Map and as your opponent leader select Cyrus (Persia). Found some cities and one give as a gift to Persia. Remember to train some military units and locate them close to this city before you give city. After that just conquer this city and achievement pops.



Envoy Convoy
After building the Apadana wonder, construct 7 additional wonders in the same city.

To build Apadana wonder you need to have Political Philosophy civil researched. Don't start a game after Renaissance era as you won't be able to build this wonder. If you want build this wonder immediately after start game, choose Medieval Era start. Try locate your city which has different areas (hills, mountain, water) to be able build 7 different wonders after.

Poland Civilization & Scenario Pack

Armor of Faith
Win a regular game as Jadwiga.

For Deity preferable is playing as Stanislaw Potocki. It's really simple to achieve, I got it after 1st trial. Go to Multiplayer >> Local Network and set Deity difficulty only for your AI. For each other set Settler difficulty.



To win this scenario you have to defend Vienna and avoid to conquer it by Barbarians. I set 2 cities close to Vienna. Firstly I built Encampments in each city and Holy Site for healing. I trained only Archers and build Commercial districts and buildings in it to gain money. I keep killing barbarian units focused on melee units and catapults rather than archers. Remember about promote your units, 4 promotions grants you twice action for unit. After 60 turns I got achievement for Deity. It was pretty easy.


You Are A Terrible Person
Playing as Poland, destroy another civilization's incomplete wonder by initiating a Culture Bomb.

Use Hot Seat to get this in easy way. Start Multiplayer game >> Hot Seat mode. Start game from Indistrial Era. Select Duel Map, choose Poland civilization (Jadiwga leader), the second player does not matter. Remember to put Human in the settings of the second player to be able play as two civilization in the same time. After start ganme found 1 city for each player and send second settlers and found 2nd cities next to each other. Playing as Poland civilization, build Encampment, then Barrack's and finally Armory to be able train Military Engineer support unit. Playing as the second civilization, start building any wonder, next to Poland city's border. Playing as Poland, locate Military Engineer unit next to this wonder and build Fort there (unique tile improvement for Poland civilization which convert two opponent's tiles to yours). After that achievement should pops.

Vikings Scenario Pack

Absolutely Nothing Rotten in the State of Denmark

You can win on Deity but playing like Settler difficulty. Select Multiplayer game and choose Local Network. Set Harald Hardrada as a leader and Deity difficulty (only for you AI), for each other AI set Settler difficulty:



Play game as normal. Difficulty level during game will be the similar to the Settler difficulty. In this scenario when I was playing as Harald Hardrada I focused on pillaging coasts. I built many ships and thay were traveling close to coasts. I did not even conquer any city. Fights with other ships on the sea rewarded me Great Admiral. It enabled me to found Vinland and got 1000 Victory Points for discovering Vinland as first. You need research Knarbs technology to be able move on oceans' tiles:



When you send Great Admiral to Vinland remember escort him (3 ships are enough). This land is located totally on the west (click on pic to enlarge):



I saved lots of money and faith points at the end (I did not need buy a lot, only some ships and single buildings) so it rewarded me lot of Victory Points. Win on "Deity" playing as Harald Hardrada was pretty easy.



What Do You Mean, "Active Volcano?"
Build three Aerodromes within 2 tiles of Eyjafjallajökull.

The most difficult part of this achievement is finding Eyjafjallajökull natural wonder. It's located in North among tundra terrains. Fortunately it is easy workaround! You can create own map and add this wonder to the map. How to do that you can find in Grinding, tricks & tips section under point 4: Creating own maps, this is the last section of this guide. If you don't want to create own map, I recommend you start game playing as Norway (Harald Hardrada leader), set Large map, Information Era start and set temperature to cold (more tundra tiles). You can rush satellites to discover whole map, I had a luck to find Eyjafjallajökull wonder before that. Send 3 settlers to the wonder and found 3 cities in such way all of them would have at least one tile not further than 2 tiles away of Eyjafjallajökull. In each of 3 cities build Aerodrome and achievement pops up.







Even Our Castles Have Castles
Build an Alcazar within 2 tiles of the Alhambra.

Alcazar is a special improvement which you can build only if you are suzerain of Grenada.
Create new game playing as Norway (Harald Hardrada leader), choose large map and Modern Era start to be able build Alhambra immediately. Send units to explore land and if you find Granada, send as many envoys as possible to be a suzerain. Alhambra must be located on hills and next to Encampment district, so firstly build Encampment - necessary next to hills. If Alhambra is built and you are suzerain of Granada, use your builders to build Alcazar within two tiles of the Alhambra wonder.





Finn MacCool's Pipe Organ
Build a Monastery within 2 tiles of the Giant's Causeway.

The Monastery is a special tile improvement. It can be built by a player that is the Suzerain of the Armagh city-state. The Giant's Causeway is a 2-tile impassable Natural Wonder available in Civilization VI with the Vikings Scenario Pack. Create new game, select Harald Hardrada leader (Norway civ) and Huge Map, Information Era Start. Found a city, build Space Port and complete Launch Satellite project. You need have a luck to have Giant's Causeway wonder on tha map and Armagh city-state as well. If you don't have, start new game again until you have both. If you have, send as many Envoys as you have to Armagh city-state in order to be Suzerain of it. Then send settler next to the Giant's Causeway, found a city and use builder to build Monastery next to the wonder.

Rise & Fall DLC

A Burning Splendor
Win a regular game as Chandragupta.

Before you start a game, you need set Chandragupta as a leader. Go to Advanced Settings tab and select him from a dropdown list. If you don't want win in a full-time game, you can quick win within 1 turn - how to do that you can find in 'Grinding, tips & tricks' tab.



I Thought We'd Moved Past This Joke
As Chandragupta, launch a nuclear weapon.

Create new game with Chandragupta as a leader. In Advanced Setup set information era start to get this achievement quite quick. Below is a lists what you need to get this achievement:

• Research Stealth Technology in Technology Tree - it's needed to unlock Jet Bomber
  
• Complete Manhattan Project - to unlock Nuclear Device Project
  
• Complete Build Nuclear Device Project
  
• Build Aerodrome
  
• Build Jet Bomber
  
• Select Jet Bomber and nuke some city (it can be city-state as well)

In my case this achievement popped when I had all DLCs disabled except for Rise & Fall and I played as Chandragupta.



Lord of All Who Live in Felt Tents
Win a regular game as Genghis Khan.

Before you start a game, you need set Genghis Khan as a leader. Go to Advanced Settings tab and select him from a dropdown list. If you don't want win in a full-time game, you can quick win within 1 turn - how to do that you can find in 'Grinding, tips & tricks' tab. For some reason I didn't win this way first time but when I tried once again, it worked - so keep trying if first time you lose.



Deeds of a Monarch-Scorning People
Win a regular game as Lautaro.

Really simple, you need 2 minutes to gain this. Start new game as Seondeok (Korean civilization) and Information Era start. Just build Spaceport district and Seowon (unique korean district instead of Campus) next to it.



A small Country, a great people, so sorely tried
Win a regular game as Queen Wilhelmina.

Triple Seven
As Wilhelmina, have seven cities and seven Zeven de Provincien at the start of the turn.

Really simple achievement. Create own game and set Wilhelmina as your leader. Zeven de Provincien unit is available in Reneissance era, so set your start era as Industrial Era. Build exactly seven settlers and found 7 cities (no more). At least one of your cities has to have access to water in order to build Zeven de Provincien naval unit. If you build 7 ones and press next turn button, achievement will pop up.

Radiant Deeds, Bright as Sunshine
Win a regular game as Tamar.

Holy Righteous Queen Tamar
As Tamar, have every city-state in the game following the religion you founded.

To get it simple, create new game and set only 1 City-State. If you found your own religion, train Missionary and send him to City-State to convert it on your religion. Remember - to be able train Missionaries you need have Holy Site with Shrine - Shrine you can build after Astrology is researched.

Rise & Fall DLC - part 2

Blackest Queen
As France, build an Intelligence Agency.

Create new game, select Catherince de Medici (France) as a leader, start with Information Era start. For your convenience delete all units except for a settler. Build Government Plaza district. Build one of 1st tier Government Plaza building: Audience Chamber, Ancestral Hall or Warlord's Throne building. Build Intelligence Agency.



Subject Matter Expert
Have a Governor with every promotion.

Simple achievement which you are able get really quick. Create new game as Chandragupta and set Information Era as start era. In Government Tab, Appoint any Governon. If governon is established in the city, go to Government tab again and press 'Promote' button. Then give him all promotions - achievement will pop up.



Master and Commander
Win a regular game on the Archipelago Map.

During creating a game set Archipelago Map. Remember to set Ruleset as "Rise&Fall" instead of Standard Rules. In other case achievement won't pop up after winning the game.



Extend the Olive Branch
Make a peace deal which includes you giving or receiving an Olives resource.

Before start a game remember to set Ruleset as "Rise&Fall" instead of Standard Rules. It is good to choose any leader from this DLC, e.g. Poundmaker or Lautaro but I don't know it is needed as I got this achievement playing as Wilhelmina. If you have Olives resource and declared war before, just make a peace including Olives in your offer. If Olives are not enough, add some resources more to your offer in order to accept deal by your opponent.





Die Another Day
Neutralize a Governor with a Spy.

Send the spy to a city center an opponent controls which has already Governor assigned. Use the gain sources mission to increase success chance. Choose "Neutralize Governon" mission. After your spy succeeds achievement pops.







Dark Horse
Win the game while in a Dark Age.

Important note: this achievement seems to be bugged if you win in Information Era or later as it resets all players to Normal Era. You have to win a game while in a Dark Age before Information Era comes, to avoid issues with not triggerd achievement.
At the start of each age, each civilization is given a target range for their Era Score. If you fail to meet the low end of the range by the start of the next age, your Civilization goes into Dark Age. Don't build wonders and try avoid enhancement of your civilization too much in order to start Dark Age. Most of game I just keep pressing "SHIFT + ENTER". Before start game I recommend you go into Advanced Settings and enabling only Domination Victory and disable all others. Moreover, select Duel Map with only one opponent. Train military units and locate them nearby opponent's capital and after Dark Age starts, conquer the capital. I didn't try but Hot Seat Multiplayer would be the fastest and most convenient way to gain this.


Metroplex
Completely surround your Government Plaza with districts or wonders you own at the start of the turn.

The Government Plaza is a unique specialty district which can be build only one per civilization. Build Government Plaza in proper place to be able surround it by other districts/wonders - preferable is on the land, not on the coast. I recommend build Theater Square district as first. Then you can build other districts and wonders. You don't have build different districts, you can just build several neighborhoods next to it and achievement will pop up. On the picture you can I've build 4 Neighborhoods districts and I got achievement:





Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures
Assign a Dark Policy to your Government.

At the start of each age, each civilization is given a target range for their Era Score. If you fail to meet the low end of the range by the start of the next age, your Civilization goes into Dark Age. Don't build wonders and try avoid enhancement of your civilization too much in order to start Dark Age. Most of game I just keep pressing "SHIFT + ENTER" ;) If your civ is in Dark Age go to tab with policy cards and assign any of those.




Mulligan
Build a Golf Course in a tile where you had previously attempted to build a Wonder, but got beaten to the Wonder by another Civ.

This achievement is pretty easy if you play Hot Seat. Start Multiplayer game >> Hot Seat game and set Duel Map. One leader has to be Scotish (Robert the Bruce). Select "Human" for the second player. I started game from Modern Era, so firstly chosen Eiffel Tower in Production queue for Scotland civilization (it does not matter which wonder it is, I just chose Eiffel Tower as it can be build in many places). Make sure you put wonder in place where Golf Course is allowed to be build. Playing as the second civilization, put the same wonder in production and use builders to improve tiles in order to wonder is completed first, before Scotland. If wonder is complete, just use scotish builders and build Gold Course on the same tile, where wonder was interrupted and achievement pops.



Circle of Life
Build a Fishery adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef.

The Fishery is a Governor tile improvement in Civilization VI: Rise and Fall. It can only be built in a city in which a Surveyor Governor with Aquaculture is established, and must be on a non-Reef Coast or Lake tile. Start new game on Huge Map and Information Era Start. Build Space Port and complete Launch Satellite project to uncover the whole map. You need a little luck to have Great Barrier Reef wonder on your map. If you don't have, create new game and try again. If you have this wonder on map, send settler there and found a city nearby. Set Liang Governor (Surveyor) in this city and unlock Aquaculture promotion. After that send builder next to Reef and build tile improvement called Fishery.





Taxation Without Representation
As England, lose a city to disloyalty which has an established Financier Governor.

Start a game as Eleanor of Aquitaine, Renaissance era start, no barbarians. Found first city and second settler send away to find the capital of opponent (keep SHIFT + ENTER ;). If you are close, there are numbers on tiles as below (just example):



Found a city on a tile with " -20 ". Establish in this city Financier Governer and wait until city loses loyalty, usually several turns is enough.

Rise & Fall DLC - part 3

Shopping Spree
Have 10 Shopping Malls in your civilization at the same time.

The Shopping Mall is a touristic building of the Modern Era which can be built in the Neighborhood district (or one of its replacements). Just found 10 cities, build Neighborhood districts and Shopping Malls in each of them. Remember you need have Urbanization and Capitalism researched in Civic's tree to be able build Shopping Malls.



I'm going to break the wheel
Earn three Golden Ages in a row.

Focus on Era Score and earn as much Era score as you can. In addition: there is a special Wonder which affects Era score earned by Historic Moments - Taj Mahal. Build it to boost your Era score each time you earn 2 or more points. If you've passed the Golden Age threshold, then you goes into Golden Age, you have to do it three times in a row. At Settler difficulty it is really easy.


Elcano's Revenge
Be the first player to circumnavigate the world after Ferdinand Magellan has been recruited by another player.

Use Hot Seat to get this in easy way. Start Multiplayer game >> Hot Seat mode. Ferdinand Magellan is Renaissance Great Admiral, so start game from Renaissance Era. Select Duel Map, Archipelago and choose e.g. Germany or Russia and remember to put Human in the settings of the second player to be able play as two civilization in the same time. Build Commercial District and Harbor in order to gain as much money as you can. Put policy card to get +2 Great Admiral points per turn. Train naval units and attack opponent's naval units to increase Great Admiral points. If you gain enough Great Admiral points and have enough money, just bought Ferdinand Magellan. Use the second civilization's naval unit and move it around map and achievement pops. Remember to NOT circumnavigate the world BEFORE Ferdinand Magellan has been recruited by another player.



Adamantine Confederacy
As Poundmaker, have an active Alliance of every type.

Go to Secret Service achievement's description in this guide. If you play as Poundmaker and will follow directions described in mentioned achievement you get this. Remember all Alliances have to be active in the same time, you will see 5 flag icons:





Frenemy
Gain control of an Ally's city after it becomes disloyal, and choose to keep it.

Follow all directions which are written down in Meet the New Boss, Same as the Old Boss achievement description in this guide with one additional step. You have to press button you want keep city:



Unfortunately for me Hot Seat trick didn't work and I had to gain this during single game. Maybe the reason was I chose "Gathering Storm ruleset" instead "Rise & Fall ruleset" - so please set this if you gonna try this in Hot Seat.



Bromance
Achieve the maximum Alliance level with Gilgamesh.

Start new game from any late era (e.g. Atomic) and select large map. Enable duplicate leaders and civilizations and set Gilgamesh for each your opponent. Important: set ruleset to Rise & Fall. Friendship is needed for alliance but in the newest DLC it is not easy (I'm not sure why but opponent keeping deny). The maximum level is 3, if you reach this you get achievement. How to be in Alliance state you can find in Secret Service achievement description - follow these guides.


Getting the Band Back Together
Unlock every Governor, and have them established at the same time before the game reaches the Industrial Era.

Ottomans is the only civilizations which have 8 governors instead of 7 as usual, so play as Suleiman. Ibrahim is additional one.



Keep gaining Cultural Points to get Governors titles - you need 8 titles. You can get this by unlocking civics, there are examples:







Don't forget build Government Plaza - building from each level award you 1 Governor title more. Then build 8 cities and put each of Governor into a city. Each governor needs 3 or 5 turns to be established - after this time achievement pops (if all of them are already established and Industrial era is not reached)



Drama Queen
Join or be the target of 3 Emergencies in a single game.

This is rather random but in most cases, Emergencies are conducted through combat, e.g. Nuclear Emergency is trigger if you nuke any civilization. So keep playing until get this. You don't have to complete and win emergency, joining is enough.



Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!
Join a Betrayal Emergency.

Betrayal Emergency is in case when civilization has declared war on another civilization, with whom they had a high-level Alliance. You can get this in Hot Seat but one of opponent must be controlled by AI (computer), as declaration of friendship between players you are controlling is broken. Select Rise & Fall ruleset and any later era start. Play as 2 or more player and set at least one to be controlling by computer. Declare friendship by all players you are controlling with computer opponent and keep trying to have second lvl of Alliance. How to be in Alliance state you can find in Secret Service achievement description. Then if you declare war, emergency should trigger. Need to join to get achievement.

Important note: Try to avoid declaring too many friendship, as it might cause situation, when you won't be able to start war against your ally, when you have a friendship with another civilization, which has simultaneously friendship with your ally. In such situation you should break friendship with such civilization, or (if you play Hot Seat), start a war with second civ you play against 1st civ's ally and then you will be able to join a war.



Victory Belongs to the Most Persevering
Achieve a Heroic Age.

To achieve Heroic Age you have to firstly achieve Dark Age and after that exceed the threshold for Golden Age. I got it during my game and I wasn't focused on that at all. To get Dark Age you need just keep pressing "ENTER + SHIFT" to stop development of your civilization. After that make progress and things which increase your Era Score to beat Golden Era threshold.

Queen of the Byrsa
Win a game as Dido.

Take On Me / Literally Playable
Win a game as Kristina.

Workaround for that is: disable all ways to win except for Score Victory, set 3 or 5 turns limit, Settler Difficulty and e.g. Modern, Atomic or Information Era start. Found as many cities as you settlers have. For me it worked:





Tu Meke
Win a game as Kupe.

If you don't want win in a full-time game, you can quick win within 1 turn - how to do that you can find in 'Grinding, tips & tricks' tab. I had issues to win within 1 turn playing Kristina. Workaround for that is: disable all ways to win except for Score Victory, set 3 or 5 turns limit, Settler Difficulty and e.g. Modern, Atomic or Information Era start. Found as many cities as you settlers have and play as normal still monitoring Score Ranking. More info you can find in 'Grinding, tips & tricks'.



Treasures of Heaven and Earth
Win a game as Mansa Musa.

The Art of Telling Plain Truths
Win a Diplomatic Victory.

The rules are different in Gathering Storm to win in a Diplomatic way. You need to gain enough Diplomatic Points as first. During game with one opponent (and 3 City-States) I needed to gain 10 points to win. Create own game, preferable are: Settler difficulty, Teddy Roosevelt as a leader, duel map, modern or later era start, no barbarians and no turn limit. Remember to turn off all other victory conditions except for Diplomatic Victory and remember to set Ruleset to "Expansion: Gathering Storm". I got 2 on the start (I started from Modern Era). One point you can gain if you build Statue of Liberty - pay attention it needs to be located next to the water. Other 5 points I gained on World Congress Proposal. During World Congress always put as many Diplomatic favor points as you can on Diplomatic Victory section and select your leader in dropdown list (click on the picture to enlarge):





A Man A Plan A Canal Panama
Build the Panama Canal as Teddy Roosevelt.

The most difficult part of this achievement is finding proper place to build Panama Canal. Fortunately it is easy workaround - you can generate your own map with terrain and tiles you need. How to do that you can find in Grinding, tricks & tips section in this guide, point 4: Creating own maps (to get any natural wonders, terrains, resources you need on the map).
Make sure you start a game with Teddy Roosevelt as a leader and Modern Era as your start era - you will be able to build Panama Canal immediately (Steam Power is already researched in Technology Tree). You have to find two flat land tiles (without mountains or hills) which have water on both sides. I recommend you set Archipelago map to find such location. There is an example where to build Panama Canal:





Real Estate Disclosures Required
Have a district be pillaged by 3 different random events.

This achievement should pop during your game. To get it easier you can locate your city (and build district there) next to natural wonder as Kilimanjaro or Vesuvio and set Disaster Intensity from 2 to 4 (during creating new game).



Rivals on Ice
Playing as Russia, conquer a city with an Ice Hockey rink.

The easiest way to gain this achievement is Hot Seat Multiplayer game. In Hot Seat you play as 2 players. Create new Hot Seat Multiplayer game, set Dual Map, Atomic Era, without barbarians. Select Peter (Russia) leader for first player and Wilfrid Laufier (Canada) for second player. Be sure to change from "Computer" to "Human" for second player in settings.



Playing as Canada build Hockey rink using builders. Hockey rink must be located on snow.



The only thing you have to do is conquer the Canadian city. Then achievement will pop up.

Gathering Storm DLC - part 2

One Tree Hill
Have one of your Rock Band units perform a concert adjacent to a Maori Pa unique improvement.

Pa is unique improvement for Maori civilization. I recommend you gain this achievement together with next 2 ones (Hello Cleveland and Rock God). Start new Muliplayer Game -> Hot Seat game. Select Duel Map, Indsutrial Era Start and choose Kupe leader for 1st civilization. Remember to set "Human" under 2nd civilization to be able play as two players. If you want to gain Hello Cleveland too, select America (Teddy Roosevelt leader) as the second civilization. Train Toa unit:



Using Toa unit, build Pa improvement. It can be built only on Hills and plain terrain. Next, build Theater Square next to Pa improvement.



Playing as 2nd civilization, build Holy Site and Temple in it. After Cold War is researched in Civics Tree, you can purchase Rock Band unit by Faith Points. If you have enough Faith Points, purchase this unit.



Move it to Theater Square of Maori civ (next to it should be Pa improvement). Before you use unit, you have to name it. Press feather icon:



Then just press "Perform Rock Concert" button.





Hello Cleveland!
Perform a Rock Concert in Cleveland.

Start new Muliplayer Game -> Hot Seat game. Select Duel Map, Information Era Start and choose Teddy Roosevelt (America) as leader for 1st civilization, because Cleveland is an American city. Remember to set "Human" under 2nd civilization to be able play as two players. Train settlers and found cities until you found Cleveland. In my case it was 15th city so if you have no luck, you need be patient ;) Build Theater Square in Cleveland. Playing as 2nd civilization, build Holy Site and Temple in it. If you have enough Faith Points, purchase Rock Band unit and move it to Theater Square in Cleveland. Before you use it, you have to name unit (feather icon). Pictures and more detailed description you can find in above achievement (One Tree Hill). Then just press "Perform Rock Concert" button. If your unit is not died, achievement will pop up.




Rock God
Have no cities following your religion then convert a city to your religion using a Rock Band unit.

This achievement can be easily gained together with one of two above achievements (I get three of them in one game). Start new Muliplayer Game -> Hot Seat game. Select Duel Map and such era start to be able found a religion. Set religion for two civilization and use Missionaires to convert all cities for only one religion. After Cold War is researched in Civics Tree (Atomic Era), you can purchase Rock Band unit by Faith Points. If you have enough Faith Points, purchase this unit. Before you can use this unit, you have name it, preferable is "Religious Faith". You have to promote your unit by following one:



I'm not sure what it depends on, but not always above promotion is available. Maybe they are available randomly or related to unit name (when I named my unit Religious Faith, it was available). Then send Rock Band unit into Theater Square for this civilization for which all cities are religious converted. Then just press "Perform Rock Concert" button. If your unit is not died, achievement will pop up.



Purple Reign
As Dido, complete the Move Capital project on 4 different continents.

Move Capital is a unique project of the Phoenician civilization (Dido is leader). Project becomes available after building a Cothon district - it is unique district instead of Harbor district. Create new game, select Dido as a leader, Information Era Start, Large Map, Archipelago Map, without barbarians. Found first city next to the sea and build Cothon district (instead of Harbor). Rush sattelites project or send settlers to find 3 others continents (at least 4 in total):



Remember to found cities only next to the sea to be able build Cothon district. In the second city after Cothon district is built, complete Move Capital project:



The same as above you have to do 2 times more, each on the different continent. Achievement will pop up if capital will be moved into the fourth different continent (you don't have complete project 4 times, only 3 times).


Shield of Christianity
As Hungary, have Christianity as your dominant religion and defeat a unit who's Civilization's dominant religion is not Christianity.

Start a game as Hungary (Matthias Corvinus leader) and found one of Christianity religion (Catholicism, Protestantism or Eastern Orthodoxy). I've choosen Catholicism. If your opponent found another religion, build Catapult and destroy any unit (you have to use e.g. catapult to destroy, not defeat unit). I gained this achievement in Multiplayer Hot Seat game playing as two players and destroyed Warrior using Catapult.


Meet the New Boss, Same as the Old Boss
As Eleanor, gain a city to loyalty that was owned by a different civilization with Eleanor as its leader.

I spent only several minutes to gain this achievement. Start Multiplayer >> Hot Seat game. Set Duel Map, Renaissance era start, no barbarians. Set two Eleanor as a leader and set "human" for second player:



Found a 1 city for each player and send the second settlers to find the capital of opponent (keep SHIFT + ENTER ;). If you are close, there are numbers on tiles as below:



Found a city on a tile with " -20 ". Put cursor on signed in black circle icon and verify how many turns left to lose loyalty, recommend keeping SHIFT + ENTER keys. After this time achievement pops up.

Gathering Storm DLC - part 3

Let Our Powers Combine – Wait Heart is Missing!
Have a city with a Wind Farm, Solar Farm, Hydroelectric Dam, and Geothermal Plant.

To be able build all 4 things, you need have Satellites and Composites researched in Technology tree so I recommend you start from Information Era. Turn off turn limit. Select Large map to increase a chance to find a good location. Send one settler to find good location which met all requirements to build them all. Buildings/improvements which you have to build and theirs requirements are:

1. Wind Farm is a standard tile improvement which must be build on Hills
2. Solar Farm is a standard tile improvement which must be build on Flat tiles (e.g. desert)
3. Hydroelectric Dam is a renewable source power building which is built in the Dam district. You have to build Dam first, so your city must be placed next to the river with floodplains tiles. The river must traverse at least 2 sides of the future Dam tile. Remember there is limir one Dam per river, so recommend you start a game with only one opponent and no City States.
4. Geothermal Plant is a standard tile improvement. It is used to supply Power to the city from a renewable source: Geothermal Fissure tiles, on which it must be built. Example of geothermal fissure tiles:



The most difficult part for me was finding Geothermal Fissure tile and river nearby. Finally found such location, there is an example:




An Engineer's Dream
Have a Canal, Dam, Aqueduct, Railroad, Golden Gate Bridge, and Mountain Tunnel in a city.

Before you start build all mentioned things, you need good location for that, which meet all requirements. Start new game with Atomic Era Start and Island Plates map. You have to find location nearby sea and river as well. There has to be suitable place for Golden Gate Bridge (two land tiles and sea tile between them) and at least one mountain. Try save game before found a city and after you found, verify if all things which I've marked below are available. If not, load game or create another settler to find another location. Below is example of good location:



Restrictions:

• Canal - it must be built on flat land with a Coast or Lake tile on one side, and either a City Center or another body of water on the other. Requires Steam Technology researched.
  
• Dam - it must be built on a Floodplains tile and the River must traverse at least 2 sides of the future Dam tile. Requires Buttress technology researched.
  
• Aqueduct - it must be placed adjacent to the City Center and either a River, Mountain, Oasis or Lake. Requires Engineering technology researched.
  
• Golden Gate Bridge - it must be built on a Coast tile where it must run straight across the hex between two land tiles directly opposite one another and at least one water tile must be adjacent to each end of the bridge. It cannot be built on a Lake. It is Atomic era start so I recommend you start a game from this era.
  
• Mountain Tunnel - must be built at Mountain tile, so your City has to have at least one mountain inside borders.
  
• Railroad - requires 1 Coal and 1 Iron

Canal, Dam, Aqueduct and Golden Gate Bridge you can build from city production menu. For two last ones (Railroad and Mountain Tunnel) you need Military Engineer unit, medieval support unit which is available after Military Engineering technology is already researched:

If I build railroad on one tile achievement didn't pop. I used Military Engineer to create second railroad on the adjacent tile and then achievement did pop up.



Nobody's Business But the Turks
As the Ottomans, capture another Civilization's capital and then rename it.

I got this achievement playing in Multiplayer game, Hot Seat mode. Duel Map, Medieval era start, disabled Domination Victory, no barbarians. First leader has to be Suleiman (Ottomans civilization), the second one no matter, but you have change settings to Human to be able play as the second player. Found two cities for each civilization and playing as Ottomans train some units and send them to opponent's capital and conquer it. Remember about changing the name of conquered capital.


Smörgsbord
As Kristina, at the start of a turn have cities in five different terrain types (Snow, Tundra, Desert, Plains and Grassland) and have Open Air Museums in all of them.

Open Air Museums is unique tile improvement for Swedish civilization. It may be built on any passable land tile. Start game as Kristina (Swedish civilization) from Information Era Start, Huge Map, no barbarians, turn off turn limit and disable all victory wins except for Domination victory. Found first city in any of mentioned 5 places (put the settler on appropriate tile and keep in mind that you need the same type of terrain one more tile for museum) and build Open Air Museum there. Next, build Space Port. Then complete Satellite project which uncover the whole map. Send 4 settlers to the 4 left kind of places, found cities and build Open Air Museum. I always put settler and found city on the mentioned locations and build Open Air Museum on the same kind of terrain as well. When I built the last Museum achievement won't pop up, I had to go to the next turn and then got achievement.



Po-tay-toes!
As Pachacuti, construct a Terrace Farm that is adjacent to 2 Aqueducts and 4 Mountains.

You need complete Satellite project to uncover the whole map as it is too time-consuming to find it via units. On huge map I found only 1 appropriate location for this after uncover the whole map. Start a game as Pachacuti (Incas civilization), select Huge Map, no barbarians, turn off limit turn, remove all opponents and left only one and decrease number of City-States. Found a city, build Space Port in it and complete Satellite project. You have to find similar situation as on pictures below - 4 mountains (but no 4 consecutive next to each other) as there won't be opportunity to found two cities and build 2 Aqueducts. Remember that Terrace Farm has to be placed in the middle and it has to be build on hills - it is important. On this tile can not exist any resources as well but it is not visible via Satellite.





Aqueduct can be built only adjacent to the city centre, so found two cities in proper places. Below is example. At the end, just use builder to build Terrace Farm in the middle and achievement pops.




Future is Now
Be the first to complete all the technologies in the Future Era in a game with 8 or more players.

Recommend Korean Civilization for this achievement, it has good bonus for science. Select Large Map, Settler difficulty and Information Era start. Turn off turn limit and barbarians and left only Domination victory. Just keep gaining Science points. If all of below technology are completed, achievement pops:

Gathering Storm DLC - part 4

And the Walls Kept Tumbling Down
Have your Roman city lose 6 population from one Vesuvius eruption.

Start game as Trajan (Roman civilization), Huge Map and Information Era Start. Select True Europe map - you can start even next to Vesuvio. (credits: Fons) Change Disaster Intesity to 4. Left only one civilization and remove others and change number of City-States to 0. After game starts, send a settler and found a city next to Vesuvius. However, send several builders together with settler. After city is found, wait for Vesuvius eruption and after that keep building farms around city and chop forests/rainforests to increase population as soon as possible. First time I lost 5 population but the second time I lost 6 population and got achievement - you can see number in the bottom of the screen after disaster occurs. I can not confirm if achievement pops if lost of population is greater than 6.







Toward Carbon Neutrality
Complete the Carbon Recapture project 10 times during a single game.

Start game from Information Era Start and turn off turn limit and all victory conditions except for Domination Victory. To have Carbon Recapture project unlocked in city menu you have to complete Global Warming Mitigation civic in Civic's tree. It is one of Future Era civic (in the beginning it is as "Unrevealed".



After it is researched, just complete Carbon Recapture project 10 times and achievement pops.



Surprise Attack
Move a military unit into an enemy's owned tile using a Mountain Tunnel (or Qhapaq Nan).

Start new Multiplayer game >> Hot Seat mode. It does not matter which civilization you select but preferable is Duel Map. The Mountain Tunnel is an engineering tile improvement which requires Chemistry and can be built by a Military Engineer. Start from late era to have Chemistry already researched. Found 1 city per civilization next to mountains, something like that:



To build Mountain Tunnel you need Military Engineer. To train this unit you have to build encampment first, next Barracks and finally Armory. I had to declare war to be able move unit to opponent's tile. If you just cross opponent's territory using Mountain Tunnel achievement won't pop. You have to start moving your military unit from your territory and finished on opponent's tile (as shown on above screenshot).



Nobel-er than the Noblest
Achieve first place in all three Nobel Prizes in the same game.

Nobel competitions are available only if Sweden is present in the game so play as Sweden (Kristina leader) or choose it as your opponent. Starting in the Industrial Era, one of the 3 Nobel Prize competitions is randomly selected in regular World Congress sessions as a proposal. If passed, the selected competition begins when the World Congress session ends and expires. You have to win 3 Nobel Prizes: Peace, in Literature and in Physics.







If you are really lazy (like me:), you can use Hot Seat mode to avoid other civs bother you. If you don't know Hot Seat, go to the last section in this guide (Grinding, tips & tricks) in the very bottom to get more information.



Seahenge
Have Stonehenge become submerged due to Coastal Flooding.

It's not so hard but for sure time-consuming. Stonehenge is Ancient era wonder so you have to start game really from the beginning (Ancient or Classical Era). This wonder can be built only on flat tile adjacent to Stone resource. So you have to found city next to Stone resource which is located close to flat coast. The best if you find tile 1-meter high - it means this tile will be flooded as first (grey wave icon) and submerged when sea level increases to +2.0 meters. But it's really hard to find such location, so if you place Stonehenge on 2 meters high tile (blue wave icon) it should be ok as well but then you have to wait more polar ice melts. I built my Stonehenge on 1 meter high tile:



To start polar ice melts, global temperature must increase. Production of coal and oil increases CO2 level and finally global temperature is higher. Coal is an Industrial Era Strategic Resource, Industralization technology has to be researched. It is required to build the Ironclad and Battleship. Coal is found on a variety of terrains, always on Hills. Oil is a Modern Era Strategic and it's revealed by the Combustion technology. Oil is found mostly on the coast, and more rarely on a variety of remote flat terrains.

If you built Stonehenge as me on 1-meter high tile, it will be submerged when IV phase starts. Then sea level increase to +2.0 meters. If you built on 2-meter high tile, then you have to wait VI phase will be started.







Peacekeeper
As Wilfrid Laurier, successfully complete an Emergency.

I got this achievement during my game playing as Canada (Wilfrid Laurier) on Large Map without even try. It is random but if you don't skip World Congress part and participate in it, you should get this achievement soon or later. I recommend large or huge map for this with numerous civilizations in game.


Airing Your Grievances
Win a Diplomatic Victory Resolution and use it to reduce another player's progress toward that victory.

If you want gain this really quick, create new Multiplayer game >> Hot Seat mode (you will be playing as two players at once, remember select "Human" is settings for the second player). Select Duel Map and any later Era start. Found city for each civilization, send some units to get to know another player in the map. After that I kept pressing ENTER + SHIFT (skip turns) until World Congress starts. Then in Diplomacy Victory tab just vote for losing Diplomacy Point for opponent leader:



If it passes, achievement pops.





One does not simply walk into Ngauruhoe
As the Maori, have a Maori Toa discover the Ngauruhoe volcano.

Start new game as Kupe (Maori civilization). I found Ngauruhoe volcano on East Asia map, so recommend you choose the same. I removed all opponents and left only one. Keep producing Toas and send them to explore the world. I put screenshot where I found this volcano, probably this is random but there is no different way to get this achievement, just keep try searching.

Gathering Storm DLC - part 5

Sid Meier's Ditchdigging Simulator
Use two cities and the Panama Canal to make 7 contiguous land tiles passable by ships.

Panama Canal is Industrial era wonder. If you start game one era after Industrial era, wonder will be available to build. You have to find a land with coast to coast expanse equals 7 tiles. These tiles must be flat (no hills, mountains) and no resources. I've chosen Europe map and found such place in the north, you can see further on the screenshot. After you found such place:

1. Found two cities on the opposite sites, each one 1 tile away from land.
2. Build Canal for each city to connect city with sea.
3. Build Panama Canal exactly in the middle (4th tile from each side) - it will take 3 tiles and connect cities.

Below is screenshot how it should looks like. When Panama Canal is completed, achievement will pop up.




Hajj
As Mansa Musa, send a Trade Route to Mecca that gives the sending player at least 30 gold.

Mecca is one of Arabian cities, so Arabia needs to be in the game. Mansa Musa (Mali civilization leader) has unique ability: his International Trade Routes receive 1 extra Gold for every flat Desert tile in the origin city. Build Suguba district in the city - it is Commercial Hub replacement. Use Eccomerce policy card (enabled with Future Civic - Globalization) to get +10 Gold in International Trades. Market Economy policy card (enabled with Capitalism) is useful as well, it add +1 Gold per each luxury and strategic resource in destination.



When Diplomacy Fails
Have a fully upgraded Giant Death Robot capture a city.

The Giant Death Robot is an Information Era super-unit, so recommend you start game from Information Era. It requires 1 Uranium to train and 3 Uranium per turn to maintain. Giant Robot have 4 upgrades which are unlocked if following Future Era technology are researched:

• Drone Air Defense - requires Advanced AI
  
• Particle Beam Siege Cannon - requires Advanced Power Cells
  
• Enhanced Mobility - requires Cybernetics
  
• Reinforced Armor Plating - requires Smart Materials

After researching all of above, keep attacking any city and last hit do using Giant Death Robot (click on the unit and then on the city).

Bendición
Win the Black Death as Castile.

To win Black Death scenario, you have to either research the final technology - Invention, or the final civic - The Middle Class, before 85 turns have passed. Black plague regularly sweeps over the continent, starting from port cities of different nations. If a unit ends its turn on a tile with the plague, it loses 20 health. Cities with plague have a high risk of losing population. You have to focus on gaining Science or Culture Points - build either Theater Squares or Science districts. I chosen Science way. Start a game on Settler difficulty as Castile. Remove all military units - you don't need them. Use existing builders to improve tiles (mines, farms). Build Campuses and Holy Sites in all cities. Commercial districts you can build too. Earning money and gaining faith points is really important - it allows you to purchase buildings. There are really cheap if you spend Faith Points. Faith Points spend for purchasing Libraries and lately Universities (don't build them, only purchase). Purchase Shrines and Cathedrals as well (or commercial buildings). Doctors are not needed on Settler difficulty. Scholars delivers you Science Points if you use them in cities with plague, I spent money to purchase them and activate later. During game I built Walled Quarter districts when did not have any other reasonable choose. At Settler difficulty it was pretty easy, I won around 45 turn.



Santé Passe Richesse
Win the Black Death as France.

I'm Not Dead Yet
Win the Black Death after turn 80.

See description in Win the Black Death as Castile achievement's description to have guides how to win on Settler difficulty. The last turn on scenario is 85 so you have only 5 turn to 'fit'. You can choose higher level difficulty or intentionally defer Science or Culture income. Recommend you keeping saving game, if you gain science or culture points too fast or too slow just load game and try again. Keep money and faith points and purchase needed buildings later in the game instead of beginning. Maybe better way is winning by pillaging which is described a little in "Win the Black Death scenario on Deity difficulty" achievement' description but I didn't get it this way.



Medieval Medicine
Train 25 Plague Doctors during the Black Death scenario.

I just started new game and kept training Plague Doctors only since they were available.



Aggressive Strain
Win the Black Death after conquering five cities.

I recommend Roman Empire to get this achievement. Roman Empire has Teutonic Knights which replaces Swordsman. Teutonic Knights has no Gold maintenance and +8 Combat Strength when fighting in enemy territory. Don't forget choose Settler difficulty if you want gain it easier.



Danse Macabre
Win the Black Death scenario on Deity difficulty.

The strategy described in previous achievements (like win the Black Death as France) is for sure not enough. It was enough for Settler difficulty. On Deity there are more Plague waves and difficult to keep cities loyal. The most important part which was not described before is pillaging which have to do to win on Deity. Playing as France and focusing on Culture points: get 4 Caravels and pillage all coasts nearby (England, Scandinavia, Spain) to get money/faith and Culture points. You can train some Knights/Horseman and pillage also. Focus cities on production rather than food. Keep loyalty using Plague Doctors and Flagellants. Money which you gain, spend to purchase buildings in Theater Square.

Gathering Storm DLC - War Machine scenario

Élan
Win War Machine as France.

This scenario is available only on Multiplayer mode. Select Multiplayer > Local Network, set France as your AI and choose Settler difficulty for each opponent to get this achievement pretty easy. To win the game as France you only need defend your capital (Paris) by 40 turns. At Settler difficulty it's piece of cake, just keep killing Germany units. After turn 40 achievement will pop up.



Auftragstaktik
Win War Machine as Germany.

This scenario is available only on Multiplayer mode. Select Multiplayer > Local Network and set Germany as you AI. To win scenario as Germany you have to conquer capital of France (Paris) within 40 turns. At Settler difficulty it's quite simple. Conquer Verdun and Nancy cities firstly and then just go ahead into Paris. Train Artillery units as they are really strong in this scenario and perfect to conquering cities. I don't recommend building Aerodromes - cities which you will conquer don't have enough population in the beginning to build Aerodromes so you can't build it instantly. Your own cities which you possess after start the game have enough population but are too far away to attack Paris.



Vernichtungsstrategie
As Germany, win War Machine within 25 turns.

This scenario is available only on Multiplayer mode. Select Multiplayer > Local Network and set Germany as you AI. Select Settler difficulty to have it easier. Firstly conquer Verdun (and optional Nancy - I did) and go ahead onto Paris. Defeat French units on your way. Artillery is really strong in this scenario so remember to use them to conquering cities - it's perfect for this purpose. However research technology quite soon to get 2 Great Generals in your Capital.



With The Army You Have
Win War Machine without training any units.

To get this achievement quick and simple choose France as you have only defend to win scenario. Remember to NOT train ANY units - if in your city there is no choice (you have built all buildings which were available) - then just press SHIFT + ENTER to end the turn. At Settler difficulty it's really piece of cake. 20 turns I just ended up pressed SHIFT + ENTER and haven't done any action.



Big Bertha
In War Machine, reduce and capture a full-health city in a single turn.

Really simple in Multiplayer >> Hot Seat mode. Play as France and conquer Metz. Because Metz is really weak (does not have walls) one Artillery corps and Infantry corps are needed to get this within single turn.



Croix de Lorraine
In War Machine, as France, conquer Metz within 5 turns.

See achievement's description above (Big Bertha).

Red Death scenario

Red Death scenario is available only in Multiplayer. You can not play this scenario in Single Player game.


The Test of Royale
Win the Red Death scenario.

Easy to get on Settler difficulty. You can always get it via Multiplayer --> Hot Seat, if you don't wanna fight against AI. Hot Seat trick is described in Grinding, tricks & tips section in this guide.



Do Unto Others
Nuclear Strike another faction in the Red Death scenario.

To be able nuke another faction, you firstly have to get Nuclear Bomb. You can get it in Supply Drops which can appear near the Red Death ring edge after it has started to advance. These drops can grant a Tank, a Mobile Artillery, or a Thermonuclear Device. It is random which one you get. Once you get Thermonuclear Device, find another faction on the map and nuke it.



Have Them Do Unto You
Get nuked by another faction in the Red Death scenario.

To get this, you have to be a bit lucky, when you approach to your opponent units and they nuke you. I got nuked 3 times while playing as Wanderers (new Frontier Pass content) at Settler difficulty. You can also get it playing in Hot Seat game. Get Thermonuclear Device as 1st player and nuke 2nd player. How to get Nuclear Bomb is described in achievement above.



The Good Die Young
Lose your last Civilian within the first ten turns in the Red Death scenario.

I don't think it is difficult to obtain, if you start your game at Deity difficulty. Just do everything to lose game :) However, the fastest way to do it is to play as Cultists and sacrifice your settler to GDR (Giant Death Robot) (thanks @Dôn Jôrges for that tip).



Reinforcements Have Arrived
Claim a Supply Drop in the Red Death scenario.

Supply Drops can appear near the Red Death ring edge after it has started to advance. They are marked as blue parachute points on the map. If you see such nearby, just send your unit into this tile.





Hope Springs Eternal
Be defeated 5 times in the Red Death scenario.

Just lose Red Death scenario game 5 times.

Red Death scenario - part 2

Ashes of Time
Wanderers - Explore 30 city ruins across multiple games.

Play as Wanderers and choose Huge Map. Around the ruins you can see green color. Two playthroughs should be enough to get this achievement.



Getting Pruney
Pirates - Spend 50 turns in the water across multiple games.

Grind type achievement which can be obtained in couple of minutes. Play as Pirates and choose Inland Sea Map. Put all your units into water tiles and save a game. Keep pressing SHIFT + ENTER to skip turns. If your units will be close to die, move them into land tiles and move back into the water again once they get full health. At some point red wave kill your units, so just load your save file and repeat procedure until you get the achievement.





It Hungers
Cultists - Kill 10 units with the Undying Eye.

Start game as Cultists. Undying Eye is a Giant Death Robot, which you get in the beginning of game. You have to kill only 10 units with him, not a lot of to grind but the best would be to find a spawn area like on the below picture:





Experience Is Everything
Preppers - Have 5 units earn 5 promotions across multiple games.

Start a game as Doomsday Preppers, on the huge map. Choose one unit (recommend Machine Gun) and gain experience by exploring ruins and killing units. It is good to find barbarians spot to grind experience. Not so easy, you have to promote it 5 times before game ends. If your unit has 4 promotions and is ready for 5st one, save a game. Then load that game 4 times and repeat promoting the same unit until you get an achievement.



From the Outer Darkness
Mutants - Attack a unit outside the Red Death while inside the Red Death 20 times.

Start a game as Mutants. Theirs abilities allow to spread Red Death to non-contaminated hexes once per Radiation Charge. Mutant units do not take damage from Mutant spread Red Death. Those hexes are marked by violet color. If your unit is located on violet tile and you attack opponent's unit which is located on non-contaminated hex - it counts to achievement. To spread radiation, you must first locate your unit in Red Death tile and have toggled this ability. Attack 20 times when your unit is inside red or violet hex and ofc remember you have to attack only units which are outside red/violet hexes.




U mad, bro?
Borderlords - Trick enemy factions into triggering Grieving Gifts 5 times across multiple games.

Start Multiplayer, Local Network game as Borderlords. I don't recommend play in Hot Seat mode to get this, I had issues to gain this achievement in Hot Seat. As a free action, any Borderlord unit can designate a hex for a booby trapped Grieving Gift on the next turn. The Grieving Gift will look like a normal Supply Drop to all other players. The Borderlords can store up to two Grieving Gifts and they take 5 turns to recharge. The best opportunity to catch enemies into the trap, comes in the late game, when safe area is small. Some idea is shown in the picture below. You can also save a game when such traps are set and load 4 times to let enemy fall into the same trap again.





It's Alive!
Mad Scientists - Heal 1000 health points across multiple games.

Start a game as Mad Scientists. Healing 1000 health sounds as big grinding tasks, but it's not. Each unit has 100 Health so it goes quick. Play game normally, attacking enemies. Sooner or later achievement pops.



NERDS!
Jocks - Use Hail Marys to wound, but not kill, 5 Civilians across multiple games.

Start a game as Jocks. Jocks have special ability "Hail Mary" which is small tactical nuke from any combat unit every 6 turns. The fastest way to get this achievement is to wound own settlers 5 times.



They're coming to get you, Barbara
Zombie Beastmasters - Spawn 30 Zombie Hordes through combat kills.

Start a game as Zombie Beastmasters. During attacking other units, you have a chance to spawn Zombie Hordes. It doesn't spawn very often, so it will take a while to spawn 30 in total to get this achievement.



Out of Sight, Out of Mind
Aliens - Attack while cloaked 20 times.

Start a game as Aliens. Alien units can use Xenological Camouflage ability to become invisible to most non-adjacent enemy units. This ability lasts for 6 turns and has a 6-turn cooldown, and is deactivated if the unit attacks. Before attack, activate Xenological Camouflage ability to count it into achievement process. You have to do that 20 times.

Pirates scenario

I am a Pirate King!
Win the Pirates scenario.

Let's follow any of 3 below achievements guidelines to get this as well (I am Kind of a Big Deal, I Want You to Hit Me as Hard as You Can or Mine! Mine! Mine!).



I am Kind of a Big Deal
Win the Pirates scenario using mostly Infamous Pirate Points.

To get this achievement, you have to win Pirates scenario, having the most of Infamous Points:



For this win, recommended is Privateers pirate faction, on Settler difficulty, as Infamous Points you get easiest using mentioned faction. They have active ability Bring Her Home (Capture a badly damaged enemy ship for the Privateer's patron) which gives you in exchange 100 Gold Gold and +5 Infamous Pirate Points. Takes 5 turns to recharge.

Infamous Pirate Points you will get for below activities:

• Revealing hexes as the Swashbucklers (1 point for every 50 hexes)
  
• Capturing a ship as the Privateers (5 points)
  
• Sacking a port (15 points)
  
• Sinking Infamous Pirates (20-50 points)
  
• Clearing Buccaneer Forts (5 points)

But of course you don't have to follow all above to win the round with the most Infamous Pirate Points. I have won easily by sinking only Infamous Pirates and sacking ports. If Infamous Pirate ship is spotted, you will get a notification on the right side of screen.




From time to time I also captured badly damaged enemy ship while playing as Privateers.





I Want You to Hit Me as Hard as You Can
Win the Pirates scenario using mostly Fightin' Points.

To get this achievement, you have to win Pirates scenario, having the most of Fightin' Points.

That is the easiest way to win Pirates Scenario, You get Fightin' Points for below activities:

• Sinking or capturing another pirate player's ship (10 points)
  
• Sinking or capturing another colonial or buccaneer ship (5 points)
  
• Survive combat (1 point)
  
• Sacking port also gives you some Fightin' Points

To win, it is enough to just keep sinking other ships and promote your ship as soon as possible to make it stronger. Recommended is Dread Pirate faction.



Mine! Mine! Mine!
Win the Pirates scenario using mostly Treasure Points.

To get this achievement, you have to win Pirates scenario, having the most of Treasure Points:



Treasure Points you get for below activities:

• Burying treasure chests (30 points)
  
• Sinking Treasure Ships (20 points)
  
• Plundering treasure chests (5 points)
  
• Coastal Raid (5 points)
  
• Plundering a Building or District (2 points)
  
• Plundering a Trade Route or Improvement (1 point)

For this type of win recommended is Hoarders faction due to below abilities:

• Active Ability: Chain Shot (Spend any unit's action to temporarily immobilize an enemy ship. Takes 5 turns to recharge.)
  
• Passive Ability: Mine! Mine! Mine! (Unit maintenance cost is decreased. Gain bonus score for burying treasure. Gain up to 1000 extra Gold Gold per turn from interest.)

Following below let you win on Settler difficulty with no issues:











Port in Every Storm
Swashbuckler - Visit the tavern of 10 ports in a single game.

Playing as Swashbuckler faction you have to visit at least 10 ports in single run. When you are next to port, Visit Tavern button will be available:



Grind that until achievement pops. I have a feeling I had to visit more than 10 ports to get achievement, maybe because some ports were visited by 2nd fleet I captured during game.



Forced Retirement
Lose the Pirates scenario due to mutiny.

I got this achievement during gameplay as Swashbuckler faction, when I lost my fleet. Not sure what caused that, but I guess achievement should pop when your fleet just got sinked.







Liquid Assets
Sink or capture a treasure ship.

When treasure ship appears, you will see such note on the right side of screen:



Look for treasure ship on the yellow route, which appears on the map. Once you find such ship, just sink or capture it:





Love It When a Plan Comes Together
Hoarder - Sink or capture a treasure ship while a treasure escort is locked by a chainshot.

Start a pirate scenario using Hoarder faction. They have active ability: Chain Shot (spend any unit's action to temporarily immobilize an enemy ship, takes 5 turns to recharge.) First step is to find Treasure Ship with escort. More information how to find such ship is in Liquid Assets achievement's description. Before attacking treasure ship, use chain shot on any Escort ship. You don't have to use chainshot on each escort ship nearby, one is enough. Once chainshot is set, then just sink or capture Treasure Ship.

Frontier Pack 1: Maya & Gran Colombia

El Libertador
Win a regular game as Simón Bolívar.

Before you start a game, you have to select Simón Bolívar as a leader (Gran Colombia civilization). Go to Advanced Settings tab and select him from a dropdown list. If you don't want win in a full-time game, you can quick win within 1 turn - how to do that you can find in Grinding, tips & tricks section at the end of this guide.



The stars are right
Win a regular game as Lady Six Sky.

Before you start a game, you have to select Lady Six Sky as a leader (Mayan civilization). Go to Advanced Settings tab and select her from a dropdown list. If you don't want win in a full-time game, you can quick win within 1 turn - how to do that you can find in Grinding, tips & tricks section at the end of this guide.



I'll melt with you
Win any Victory with Apocalypse mode enabled.

While setting up new game, remember to turn on Apocalypse Mode checkbox:

Court of Itzamna
As the Maya found a settlement adjacent to 4 luxury resources.

To get this achievement you have to play as Mayan civilization (choose Lady Six Sky leader). Also, before starting a new game, I recommend you create own map, full of luxury resources you can add as you like. How to generate own map you can find in Grinding, tips & tricks section at the end of this guide. If you don't use own map, you need lot of luck to find appropriate place for found a city (adjacent to 4 luxury resources).



To plow the sea
As Simón Bolívar activate all the Comandante Generals across multiple games.

If you play as Simón Bolívar leader (Gran Colombian civilization), you will earn one random Comandante General for free every time the game enters a new era. There are 10 Comandante Generals in total. During game, you can't get duplicate Generals, what means if you start a game from Ancient era, you will get 8 different Comandante Generals. You need at least 2 full games to get 10 of them, I was unlucky and had to play 4 full games. However, there is a trick (only if you don't want to play entire game, going through eras) - you can keep starting new games (with Standard Rules selected) as Simón Bolívar, from any era later than Medieval one and you will get Comandante General at the start. Important note: you must activate all 10 Comandante Generals to get an achievement. There is a "Retire" button which allows to activate him, when you hover a cursor on the button, you will see a requirement which need to be meet to activate general. Usually some military unit must be located within 2 tiles.



The accursed share
Use a max-promotions Soothsayer to sacrifice a max-promotions GDR.

Achievement is really easy if you stick following rules:

• First of all: remember to turn Apolypse mode ON
  
• Do NOT build Mine improvements on Coal, Oil and Uranium resources. That's really important. If you start produce CO2 emission, climate will change very fast and you won't have enough time to max-out Soothsayer unit before Apocalypse starts.
  
• Play Multiplayer game, Hot Seat, as first player. Let's remove all opponents, leave only one opponent (dual map) and set him from AI to "Human". It allows you lead both civilizations and avoid to build any oil/coal plants by other civilizations.

If you meet above requirements, achievement will be really easy to get, but unfortunately time-consuming. Soothsayer unit has 5 promotions and to promote him, you have to wait until Appease the Gods competition. It has nothing to do with World Congress, Appease the Gods happens randomly, more or less once 40-60 turns. To get promotion, you have to earn at least Silver in the competition. If you play in Hot Seat, remember it has to be Player 1 (Host). To promote your soothsayer you need to move it to a active volcano then use it's sacrifice ability (only avaliable during this the competition) on another military unit (naval units and units without a melee strength don't count) which also are located next to the volcano. That's why recommend you to start a game from Ancient Era.

GDR is Giant Death Robot, is an Information Era super-unit. It gains additional abilities and upgrades via Future Era technology research. To max him out, 4 upgrades are needed, all you get by researching Future Era technologies research. That's why, recommend to focus your development on science and also faith, to get Soothsayer before first Appease the Gods happens.

Once max-promotions Soothsayer and max-out GDR are ready, sacrifice GDR during 6th Appease the Gods conpetition by pressing following button: (remember unit has to be located next to active volcano)



It took me 340 turns to get the achievement.



The end of the world as we know it
Be the last person standing after comets begin falling.

A Comet Strike is a type of natural disaster, unique to the Apocalypse Game Mode. To hunt this achievement, be sure you check checkbox with Apocalypse Mode. Start game in Hot Seat or Single Player with only 2 civilizations on the map to make it easier. Build good army and locate them nearby capital of your opponent. When the Climate Change reaches Phase VII, the world will enter the Apocalypse phase, and Comet Strikes will happen. Once Comet Strikes starts, you can go ahead and conquer capital of your opponent AI. Building Mine improvements on Coal, Oil and Uranium resources speed up reaching Phase VII.
Note: if you play in Hot Seat Mode (maybe in Single Player too, but haven't checked) be sure to eliminate opponent AFTER Comet Strikes happens. In my case, achievement didn't pop if I eliminated it before and continued game by "One more turn...".

Frontier Pack 2: Ethopia

The Lion of Judah
Win a regular game as Menelik II.

Before you start a game, you need set Menelik II (Ethopian Civilization) as a leader. Go to Advanced Settings tab and select him from a dropdown list. If you don't want win in a full-time game, you can quick win within 1 turn - how to do that you can find in 'Grinding, tips & tricks' tab.



The Mask of Baphomet
Earn all Governor promotions for the Owls of Minerva Secret Society.

The Owls of Minerva are one of four Secret Societies, exclusive to the Secret Societies Game Mode. To initiate this Secret Society, send an Envoy to a City-state (80% chance). Do not join to any other Secret Society, then you will not be able to join this one. Once joined, you unlock a new Governor with four unique titles. To unlock all Promotions very quick, I recommend to start game from any later era. Then you will be able to unlock them at once as you will have enough Governor Titles.





Voice of Aiwass
Earn all Governor promotions for the Hermetic Order Secret Society.

The Hermetic Order is one of four Secret Societies, exclusive to the Secret Societies Game Mode. To initiate this Secret Society, discover a Natural Wonder (100% chance). Do not join to any other Secret Society, then you will not be able to join this one. Once joined, you unlock a new Governor with four unique titles. To unlock all Promotions very quick, I recommend to start game from any later era. Then you will be able to unlock them at once as you will have enough Governor Titles.





Dead But Dreaming
Earn all Governor promotions for the Voidsingers Secret Society.

The Voidsingers is one of four Secret Societies, exclusive to the Secret Societies Game Mode. To initiate this Secret Society, discover a Tribal Village (70% chance). Do not join to any other Secret Society, then you will not be able to join this one. Once joined, you unlock a new Governor with four unique titles. To unlock all Promotions very quick, I recommend to start game from any later era. Then you will be able to unlock them at once as you will have enough Governor Titles.





This Blood is the Life
Earn all Governor promotions for the Sanguine Pact Secret Society.

The Sanguine Pact Secret Society is one of four Secret Societies, exclusive to the Secret Societies Game Mode. To initiate this Secret Society, destroy a Barbarian Camp (70% chance). Do not join to any other Secret Society, then you will not be able to join this one. Once joined, you unlock a new Governor with four unique titles. To unlock all Promotions very quick, I recommend to start game from any later era. Then you will be able to unlock them at once as you will have enough Governor Titles.





Battle of Adwa
Defeat an Infantry unit whose capital is on another continent with an Oromo Cavalry.

To avoid frustration, get it playing Hot Seat (in the last section in this guide there is description what's Hot Seat if you are not aware of). Playing as 1 civilization choose Ethopian Civilization (Menelik II as a leader). 2nd Player has no matter which Civilization you will select. Choose Large or Huge map to be sure at least 2 continents are on the map. As 1 Player (Ethopia) you will have to train Oromo Cavalry which is cavalry unit from Medieval Era, so start game from this era. After game starts, be sure you set capitals of both civilization on different continent. Then, playing as Ethopia, research Castles Medieval Era technology to be able train Oromo Cavalry. If you chose Gathering Storm ruleset, be aware you will need horses to train this unit. Train couple of those units and save for later. Playing as 2nd player, wait until Modern Era comes, and research Replaceable Parts technology to train Infantry Unit. Important: Before you attack Infantry Unit by Oromo Cavalry, it must be pretty much wounden (attack it using other units), as Oromo Cavalry is very weak against it. Leave approx. 10% health of Infantry Unit and then attack using Oromo Cavalry. Achievement will pop if Infantry Unit is defeated.

Frontier Pack 3: Byzantium & Gaul

One Eye in One Hundred
Win a regular game as Basil II.

Before you start a game, you need set Basil II as a leader (Byzantine civilization) . Go to Advanced Settings tab and select him from a dropdown list. If you don't want win in a full-time game, you can quick win within 1 turn - how to do that you can find in 'Grinding, tips & tricks' tab.



Et tu, Gallia?
Win a regular game as Ambiorix.

Before you start a game, you need set Ambiorix as a leader (Gallic civilization) . Go to Advanced Settings tab and select him from a dropdown list. If you don't want win in a full-time game, you can quick win within 1 turn - how to do that you can find in 'Grinding, tips & tricks' tab.


Rome is Where the Heart is
As Byzantium, take the original capital of Rome while it is following your founded religion.

The easiest way to get this achievement is play in Hot Seat. Hot Seat game is described in the last section in the very bottom if you are not familiar with this. As a primary civilization select Byzantium (Basil II is a leader) and Roman as 2nd one (Trajan is a leader). To be able found a religion, don't start game from any later era than Renaissance Era. Use religion units to convert capital of Rome to religion you found. After that just conquer that city to get an achievement.


No Light Without the Dark
In Dramatic Age Mode, as Georgia, have simultaneously a Golden and a Dark Policy active.

Choose a Tamar when you start game (Georgian civilization). In the Dramatic Ages game mode, the Georgians' civilization ability functions differently. In a Golden Age, they receive an additional Wildcard Slot in their government and can use Dark Age policy cards. During gameplay, make it through the first age with a golden age. Once you adopt one of the governments for Political Philosophy you should have 2 wildcard slots, it shouldn't have a matter which government you choose. After that, slot a dark age policy and a golden age policy.



Crom Laughs at Your Tanks
As Gaul, kill a Tank with a Gaesatae.

The Gaesatae is a unique melee unit of the Gallic civilization. You have to start a game with Ambiorix leader (Gauls civilization) in some early era, because when Medieval Era comes, this unit will truly feel obsolete against newly unlocked cavalry units. Train some Gaesatae units and keep them for later. When modern era starts, train Tank unit as 2nd player. Just kill this tank using Gaesatae units. As tanks are more powerful unit than Gaesatae, I recommend to damage Tank significantly by some other using and let Gaesatae units do final hits.



Things Fall Apart
In Dramatic Ages Mode, lose 4 or more cities by entering a Dark Age.

Start game in Ancient era and try to get into Dark Age as soon as possible. In meantime, found at least 5 cities in total and keep some distance from capital. Good idea is to locate them close to your opponents. Dramatic Ages massively boosts loyalty problems. These Free Cities will then exert Loyalty pressure on others around, potentially spreading the rebellion. Once you lose 4 cities, achievement will pop.

Frontier Pack 4: Babylon

Babylon Rocker
Win a regular game as Hammurabi.

Before you start a game, you need set Hammurabi as a leader (Babylonian civilization). Go to Advanced Settings tab and select him from a dropdown list. If you don't want win in a full-time game, you can quick win within 1 turn - how to do that you can find in Grinding, tips & tricks tab.


Let's Do the Time Warp Again
As Babylon, earn 5 tech boosts for techs that are at least one era later than your current era.

Before you start a game, you need set Hammurabi as a leader (Babylonian civilization). You should get this easily during normal play but you can also take a look at Technology tree and focus on boosting techs that are at least one era later than your current era. You have to earn 5 in single game.



Sing, O Muse
Claim every Hero across multiple games.

Despite description says to claim every hero in multiple games, you have to claim them in one game. Achievement doesn't trigger if you claim them in multiple games, maybe they will fix that later. So far it is bugged. The easiest way is while playing in Hot Seat, it is not difficult but time consuming as you have to found 12 cities. Start Hot Seat game and don't forget to turn on checkbox with Heroes & Legends mode in settings. The first Hero you should have discover during first couple turns. Once 1 Hero is discovered, build Monument in city and you will be able to discover next ones via Heroes Tales project. Once Heroes Tales project is completed, next Heroes appears to claim. To claim a Hero, select Devotion to [HeroName] project in city.



Apart from Heroes Tales project in city, heroes can be also discovered by below actions:

• Visiting a Tribal Village (15% chance).
  
• Sending an Envoy Envoy to a city-state (10% chance).
  
• Becoming the Suzerain of a city-state (100% chance).
  
• Discovering a Natural Wonder or a Continent (50% chance).

There is 12 Heroes in total. Keep in mind that Sindbad needs Harbor in city to unlock Devotion to Sindbad project.



Remember that each hero has to be claimed by Player 1. Achievement doesn't pop if you claim some Heroes by Player 1 and some by Player 2. Keep founding next cities and claim 1 Hero in each one. After all 12 Heroes are claimed, achievement should pop.



The Brave Live Forever
Recall a Hero 5 times in a single game.

To get this achievement, you have to claim one hero and then recall him 5 times. If hero dies, it can be recalled by spending faith points in the same city, where hero was originally claimed. Keep in mind each hero can be recalled only once per each era, so you have to go through at least 6 eras in total to get this achievement. Also remember to claim each time the same hero.



Steel-Driving Man
Recall a Hero after the Industrial Era.

If hero dies, it can be recalled by spending faith points in the same city, where hero was originally claimed. Just recall any hero after the Industrial Era, e.g. in Atomic era. More information how to claim and recall hero you can find in descriptions of two achievements above (The Brave Live Forever and Sing, O Muse)



The Dream Team
Claim 5 Heroes in a single game.

You should get this achievement during completing Sing, O Muse achievement. Only 5 Heroes are needed to trigger this achievement. Not sure but it popped when I claimed 6th Hero. In description of Sing, O Muse achievement in this guide, you will find information how to claim heroes.



Clash of the Titans
Kill an enemy Hero with your Hero.

The easiest way to get this achievement is playing in Hot Seat. Claim hero by 1st player and second by 2nd civilization. Kill 2nd hero by major civ (1st player) to get achievement. Keep in mind that Heroes only last for a set number of turns (referred to their Lifespan). Good thing is, that after Heroes dies or expires, he/she can be called again using Faith Faith in the city where their Sculpture Relics are located by their home civilization. Recalling Heroes refreshes their Lifespan. Faith Faith cost increases with each appearance, and each Hero can only be recalled once per era.

1. How to win regular game in 1 turn on any difficulty?

In main menu create a new game and press Advanced Setup button.
On below screenshot is set Rise & Fall ruleset but if possible change to Standard Ruleset.























1. Set any leader. There is a lot of specific leader achievements so you can get these in really fast way.
2. Set difficulty game. If you select Deity difficulty, you will gain 8 achievements for all difficulty levels.
3. You can change start era - there is 7 achievements which are associated with start area.
4. Select Map type. You'll get achievement for 6 types: Shuffle, Fractal, Continents, Pangaea, Island Plates and Island Sea.
5. Select Map Size. For each size is 1 achievement.















6. Limit turns set to Custom. After that you will be available to change max limit turns.
7. Type 1 in Max Turns edit field.











Start a game. Found a city and do all things to end the turn.

NOTE: for some reason sometimes above "1 turn trick" does not work and you lose after 1 turn is complete (I noticed that especially when I tried win as Victoria). Probably it's happen when you have selected other Ruleset than "Standard Ruleset". There is really rare in other leaders but in such case start game from some late era (e.g. Atomic) and apart from found a city purchase as many tiles as you have money. And of course set Standard Ruleset during creating game.

2. How to win in easy and quick way if 1 turn trick does not work?

For some leaders (e.g. Kristina and Kupe from the newest DLC Gathering Storm) I had issues to win using 1 turn trick. You can not set Standard Ruleset for mentioned leaders. What I did:

1. Set your leader.
2. Set difficulty to Settler and choose later Era start, e.g. Modern Era.



3. Disable all victory conditions apart from Score Victory. Change turn limit to small number, e.g. 3 or 5. Disable Barbarians.



Start game. Found as many cities as many settlers you have and play as normal. Monitor Score ranking. If you are on top, you will win and will gain achievement for victory.

3. Hot seat trick

This is trick is very useful for achievements which need to meet some requirements from your opponent as well (e.g.: You Are A Terrible Person: Playing as Poland, destroy another civilization's incomplete wonder by initiating a Culture Bomb achievement is perfect for Hot Seat game). Hot Seat allows two or more players to play on the same device by taking turns playing the game so you are able steer two civilizations simultaneously. Go to Multiplayer >> Hot Seat and you can set your map as you prefer. If you want to have 2 Civilizations in game, select Duel Map. To be able play as two civilizations, you have to change setting to "Human" as below:


For achievements like e.g. "conquer city with (...) wonder" I usually built wonder on my own and gave city for opponent as gift, but this way does not work in the newest DLC (Gathering Storm), achievements don't pop up. So Hot Seat is better. Below achievements are perfect to Hot Seat trick and can be really hard (you need lot of luck) or time-consuming if play as Normal (Single Player):

• Elcano's Revenge (Be the first player to circumnavigate the world after Ferdinand Magellan has been recruited by another player)
  
• Wood for Sheep (Playing as Australia, build a Pasture over Sheep and steal an adjacent player's Lumbermill)
  
• You Are A Terrible Person (Playing as Australia, build a Pasture over Sheep and steal an adjacent player's Lumbermill)
  
• I Quenched Your Thirst For Blood (Playing as Scythia, recapture one of your founded cities from Persia)
  
• Mulligan (Build a Golf Course in a tile where you had previously attempted to build a Wonder, but got beaten to the Wonder by another Civ)
  
• Greatest Is As Greatest Does (Playing as Macedon, conquer a city containing both the Great Library and Great Lighthouse wonders)
  
• Rivals on Ice (Playing as Russia, conquer a city with an Ice Hockey rink)

But I used Hot Seat not only for mentioned above. Sometimes is good if you wanna have "a calm" and don't want another civilization bother you.

4. Creating own maps (to get any natural wonders, terrains, resources you need on the map).

Creating own maps is very useful when you need some specific natural wonders, terrains or resources on the map. It saves a lot of time, as in regular game you need a bit luck to find such locations.

In main menu click World Builder and choose New Map.



Choose a leader, Map Type and Map Size.



Click generate. Once the map is generated, you can add any natural wonders, terrains tiles, resources and more as you like. On below screenshot is shown how I added Jade luxurious resources. I needed to add them as wanted to get achievement for set up a city next to 4 luxurious resources tiles.



Save map and go back to main menu. During setting up new game, select a map you've created from World Builder Maps.

5. Useful Mod which allows you to choose City State you need on the map.

Some achievements requires to have particular City States on the map. If you want to be sure City State you need will be on the map, you can select it in Game Setup Settings after installing modes (Honestly, I don't rememeber if 2nd one is required but let's install them both):

I have the answer for how Ngauruhoe works. With the exception of Natural Wonders, Volcano names are generated in real time as you discover them. Map choice doesn't matter at all. Literally just use Toas as Scouts on a sufficiently large map with only 2 players (so that you're the one who gets to name the ones you find) and it'll happen eventually.

I know this because I found Ngauruhoe with a Scout by accident. No problem, easy fix, go back a few turns with an autosave and go there once I have Toas researched and produced. Instead I send the Scout in a completely different direction and he found it again. it was in a completely different location this time.

Not sure if it works normally but with hot seat on standard pangea playing as all 8(Cleo(ptol), Hojo, Lincoln, Gitarja, Cyrus, Frederick(failed on this one), Montezuma, and Tomyris) for several achievements I built the Colosseum in Tenochtitlan and got district 12 without a harbor/water park, nor the unresearched spaceport. I did have a preserve/neighborhood not sure if it just checks for 11.(I did have the government plaza built but no canal, dam, or diplomatic quarter)

Nice guide. Just to add that as of 2024 none of the difficulty achievement tricks mentioned above appear to work. Tried standard, rise and fall, hotseat, local multiplayer, 1 turn, 5 turn, 6 turn, all win conditions disabled except score, with no luck.
