Description

This mod is intended to give unique national ideas to many nations throughout EU4 that seem to have only "filler" idea sets, or simply could use an actual set of unique national ideas based on the history surrounding the nation itself. I do not intend to make them over-powered and as such will be balancing them as time goes on. This mod does not currently seek to do anything else other than give unique national ideas to certain nations.

Update and Release History

< Update 3.1 - Saophas and Sultans >
- Fully updated to 1.37.5
- Reworked a number of ideas sets across the Indian Subcontinent, like the set for Gujarat and the set for Vijayanagara
- Added in semi-dynamic versions for Scandinavia if formed with Karelian or Norse primary culture, and if Spain is formed with Andalusian culture
- Special thanks to RedPanda for helping test out the mod before releasing!

< Update 3.0 - Legacies and Memories
- Fully updated to 1.37.4
- Refined and remade some old idea sets of mine ranging from the Livonian Order to Tafilalt to Syria
- New NI set for Brazil, nations in the Kongo region, and new semi-dynamic sets for Malaya
- This mod now requires certain DLC due to having to edit certain mission tree files so that they do not have certain triggers that crash the game (Ming, France, Byzantium, Lan Xang, Hungary, and Venice)

< Update 2.9a, Sheikhs and Emirs >
- Fully updated to 1.37.2
- Added in the new idea sets from the newest update, "Winds of Change", like the NI set for Austria-Hungary and for the VoC
- Added in Eranshahr's NIs that were accidentally missing in the NIE files
- Modified one line in the Ming Mission Tree so that it no longer crashes the game when the mod is enabled

< Update 2.9, Sheikhs and Emirs >
- Fully updated to 1.36.2. Several nations had their national idea sets reworked such as Arabia, Aden, Yemen, Malwa, Rajputana, Delhi, and others. See the changelog for exact detail.
- Old formation decisions for Arabia, and a couple others that were in NIE have been either taken out or updated to what they should be in vanilla, plus a little extra.
- Modified one line in the Byzantium Mission Tree from "King of Kings" so that it no longer crashes the game when the mod is enabled

< Update 2.8, Authority and Virtue >
- Fully updated to 1.35. Several nations had their national idea sets reworked such as Austria, the Papacy, Tunis, and others. See the changelog for exact detail.
- Several minor changes and tweaks to existing idea sets, see changelog for exact detail.

- Fully updated to 1.34. Several nations had their national idea sets reworked such as Byzantium, Poland, Ming, Holy Roman Empire, and others. See the changelog for exact detail.

- Fully updated to 1.33; filled in missing NI sets for nations like Kutai and Cham whilst also updating the vanilla NI sets for tags like Ethiopia, Trent, Rome, and others.

- Fully updated to 1.32, Origins. Completely revamped the idea sets of Bharat, Hindustan, and Persia to be semi-dynamic. Bharat and Hindustan will have their national ideas change somewhat depending on what culture group you form them as, and Persia's changes depending on which Iranian sub-culture you form it as. Alongside this, Portugal has been buffed slightly; Ashikaga, Punjab, and Afghanistan have been revamped whilst the Nepali Princes, Kotte, Kandy, and a few others got personalized idea sets. < Update 2.5, Veches & Synods >
- Fully compatible with 1.31, Leviathan. Revamped the idea sets of all Russian (except for Muscovy); Ruthenia and Zaporozhie have not been changed. Alongside this, the Golden Horde, Castile, Aragon, and the Mughals have gotten revamped sets. Lastly, France got a military buff as did Prussia.

National Ideas Extended will very likely NOT work completely with mods like: Europa Expanded, Extended Timeline, and Ante Bellum. Part of this mod is already integrated into some mods like Doge's Shattered Europa.

@Whyte I don't believe i've edited or revamped the NIs of Scotland. And, it probably works with Idea Variation, but if IV changes the national ideas of certain nations, it probably is *not* compatible then.

@Red Panda Not likely. I'm busy with my own matters both in my regular life and with regards to things for NIE and my other mod, Formables Extended. If someone else wants to develop a comp patch for NIE and EE, that's perfectly fine, but it isn't going to come from me.

@Red Panda I agree it would, but i don't work with the developers of EE anymore. This mod has been officially independent in terms of development since May of 2022 and just like the developers over at EE, there is no real need to make our respective mods compatible with others.
