Born This Way

Description
As a lesbian, I've always had some problems with the way vanilla CK2 handles homosexuality. Characters gain and lose the Homosexual trait completely at random, in adolescence or adulthood - there's no concept of being "born this way". And there's no concept of being in the closet - a character is either out, or they're straight.

This mod changes that. There's now a chance for characters to be "born this way", guaranteeing that they'll eventually have to either come out to themselves (gaining the Homosexual trait), or suppress their feelings and stay in the closet (which takes its toll on the character's psyche, and can add traits like Stressed, Depressed, or even some negative personality traits).

Characters who gain the Homosexual trait from vanilla or DLC events (or those added by other mods), and then subsequently lose it, are also affected - they'll have to deal with the same negative mental effects from staying in the closet, unless they come out again.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My goal for this mod is to stay 100% compatible with all other mods, with all future patches, and with all DLC configurations. Please let me know if you encounter any compatibility issues.

I've tested this mod quite a bit, but it's possible that I've missed some bugs. Please comment with bug reports or any other feedback you might have (unless it's homophobic, in which case ♥♥♥♥ off).

FUTURE PLANS:

This mod is fairly barebones at the moment - as of right now, there are basically only two new events that are visible to the player (one for a character coming out to themselves for the first time, and one for a character struggling with being in the closet). I'd like to add more - event chains about crushes and pining after straight people, for instance.

I'd also like to add a Bisexual trait, but unfortunately, I haven't yet figured out how to implement bisexuality without overriding vanilla files, which can break compatibility. If I implement it in the future, it will likely be as a separate submod so that this mod can stay 100% compatible.

Patch 3.0.1 added a modding feature that lets a mod change a character's gender dynamically - an obvious use for this would be transgender characters, which I'd like to implement if I can figure out a non-immersion-breaking way of doing so (for transfeminine characters, this would likely involve an event chain about figuring out how to make a primitive form of Premarin, but I'm not sure how to handle transmascs). This would probably also be a separate submod.

They aren't born that way, in real life it comes from being born that way.

nah seriously this comment thread is absolutely idiotic, ("homosexuality come from abuse" lmao wtf) People need to remember that mods are modification a person make for them in the first place, they just share it for other people who may want it. You don't want it, don't get it, i don't get why people feel the need to insult for nothing.
