IMPORTANT : this mod is NOT compatible with standalone sound mods. as each engine in this mod have his own sound. If you wish me to add a sound, please link me to it and I will try to talk with the author for his permission, but there will be no guarantee that I will do so or that I will manage to convince the autor.

Notes for users :
It might seems that there is many duplicates, but every engine is unique and configured according to their official specs. For example, there is actually 2 differents ISX15 600 ratings, with different torque values and curves.

Data concerning engines can be found on my data archive for technical data.

Please verify with manufacturers documentation for the maximum input torque possible through the transmissions.

Here are some specifics, separated by manufacturer :

For Cummins, for the X/ISX series 2017 and earlier, note that SmartAdvantage(represented by the SA suffix) and Smartorque2(represented by the ST2 suffix) engine are to be used with the 10-speed Eaton Integrated Transmission. SmartTorque engines (represented by the ST suffix) can be used with any transmission.

If you select a SmartAdvantage or SmartTorque2 engine, it will automatically select an Eaton Integrated Transmission Overdrive with a 2.64 final ratio. Other ratios available are :
Eaton Integrated Transmission overdrive : 2.78 or 2.64
Eaton Integrated Transmission Direct Drive : 2.26, 2.28 or 2.39

Do note that other ratios ARE available for SmartAdvantage in real life (I did hear of companies in the rockies using an overdrive transmission coupled with a 2.93 ratio), but uncommon.

For Cummins engines X engines EPA2021 and newer, EX rating means that the transmission is a 12-speed Eaton Endurant HD, and torque is restricted to 1650 Ft-Lbs for gear 1 to 9.

Also, some ratings were transferred from the Efficiency and Performance series X15 to the Productivity series variant for the EPA2021, which means that some trucks will not have those ratings if they cannot be specced with the X15 Productivity, the biggest example being the X15 605 ratings, which is exclusive to the Productivity series.

============

For PACCAR MX engines, the PACCAR TX-12 transmission(formerly known as the PACCAR automated transmission) is only mean to be available for EPA2017 engines and newer, and the PACCAR TX-18 and 18p transmissions are supposed to be used only on EPA2021 engine and newer. Older engine will use either Eaton Integrated Transmissions or other Eaton transmissions.

============

For Detroit Diesel, the DT12 transmission is restricted to the newer Detroit engine (DD13, DD15 and DD16), with some restriction between them.

Integrated Detroit Powertrain engines (identified as Detroit IDP in this mod for space reasons) are usually restricted to 2 transmission (DT12-OA and DA for 2017 and earlier trucks, DT12-OHE and DT12-DHE for newer trucks) and specific gearbox ratios.

Here are the usual configurations for Integrated Detroit Powertrain :

DD13 IDP : DT12 Overdrive (OA for older genation, OH or OHE for newer generations) with a ratio of either 2.85 or 2.64 (default ratio 2.64)
DD15 IDP : DT12 DIrect Drive (DA for older generation, DH or DHE for newer generations)with a ratio of either 2.28 or 2.16 (default ratio 2.16)

There is no reason to believe that you cannot swap between the two transmissions (chances are that you probably can configure the DD13 400 with a direct drive and the DD15 400 with a overdrive), but the defaults will be kept that way

============

Concerning Volvo, the way that XE Packages work meant that unfortunately, for multiple engines I had to create 4 XE variants : XE Economy, XE High Torque, XE Adaptative Gearing and XE Super Direct. Also note that you should use 275/80R22.5 tires (I highly recommend Smarty SCR tire and wheel mod).

Note that the axle ratios availales for the XE packages are the following :

2013 :
Max 80k lbs
D11 : 2.64-2.80 axle ratio
D13 : 2.64-2.67 axle ratio
D16 : 2.64 axle ratio
Max 143k lbs
D16: 3.21 axle ratio

2017
Max 80k lbs
D11 : 2.64 to 2.80 axle ratio
D13 : 2.26-2.39 axle ratio (SuperDirect), 2.64-2.85 (XE Eco, XE High), 2.47-2.50(XE Adaptive Gearing)
D13TC : 2.47-2.64
D16 : 2.64
Max 143k :
D16 : 3.21

2021
Max 80k lbs
D13 : 2.26-2.39 axle ratio (SuperDirect), 2.64-2.85 (XE Eco, XE High), 2.47-2.50(XE Adaptive Gearing)
D13TC : 1.95-2.28 (Super Direct), 2.47-2.64(XE Eco, XE High), 2.47-2.50 (XE Adaptive Gearing)

There might be some variations for 2021 and newer that I have not listed, please refer to the my technical archive

When you select a XE package engine, it will autoselect the most appropriate transmission with the appropriate differential ratio according to the variant. I mention these ratios in case you would prefer a higher ratio while staying conform with the specs.

Also, for GHG2017/2021 engines, you can swap the transmission for one with crawlers, which will change the Max GCW from 80k to 110k for the D13 and D11.

You also need to modify the .ssi files with a text editor (in notepad or notepad++, sii files are just text files with a special extension) , and modify the accessory_engine_data line.

That line need to be unique, so for example, if you took it from the Peterbilt 389, you need to replace the peterbilt.389 part of that line to whatever the new truck is using instead (usually it's the same thing as the truck folder)

So the scs packer actually got me into the files, but when I created new folders (389ep, pete.jc) into the def and copied/pasted all the engines w/ the corresponding truck names, still unavailable, yet that's all I had to do w/ a previous mod. As mentioned, true rookie so its probably a lack of understanding more

CLI means command line interface

Thanks dude! You may go by Rookie_One but I'm truly a Rookie to this stuff and don't even know what CLI means LOL

There is also an utility that can be used to only extract :

https://modding.scssoft.com/wiki/Documentation/Tools/Game_Archive_Extractor#Download

Note that in both case, these utilities are CLI only :)

The mod is not locked, it's just that the compression format is HashFS v2, not compatible with other archivers programs such as 7-zip or winrar.

You can the info on how to use the packer to extract here : https://modding.scssoft.com/wiki/Documentation/Tools/Game_Archive_Packer

Rookie_One, since my last comment asking about compatibility w/ Pizzters 389, I've learned about def file editing and have successfully added compatibility of another engine pack (Caterpillar C Series Engines) w/ the Pizzter 389. I was able to do the same w/ yours but I believe it's w/ an older version or something. When I try to open what I believe to be the current version, I get the same "unable to open archive" message I would get if I tried to open a base .scs file or a modded file that's locked. Would you be willing to send me an open def file for this mod so I can add my favorite truck to it?
Rookie_One  [author] Feb 28 @ 8:53pm
Not really, since a mod that would replace engine brake sound would also replace the rest of the sound
BurstingTwinkie Feb 28 @ 8:42pm
Is there a good companion mod for better jake brake sounds? Really would like a nice deep growly jake brake with these engines
klytins Feb 23 @ 5:37pm
ok it's good. I'm keeping it. ty
