Description
Welcome to the StartPos AddOn for the Unofficial Attila Community Patch!

This mod fixes a variety of issues found in the Vanilla startpos.esf file, mostly related to family trees. Because there can only be one startpos.esf file present in any game all individual fixes on the Workshop related to this file are incompatible with one another. This mod is a community effort to compile all these fixes into a single file.

Currently there are 4 mods included in the StartPos AddOn but this number will hopefully increase as more people join the project.

While it is designed to be used with the Unofficial Attila Community Patch it is not required and can be used on its own.

Update 01 (Jul 06, 2019):

Why is this an AddOn and not in the Main Patch?

These fixes all had to be made in the "startpos.esf" file of which there can only be one present in any game. Every two mods that change this file are incompatible with one another. This means that if this mod were added to the Community Patch, it would've suddenly become incompatible with a lot of the great overhauls out there on the Workshop, which a lot of users wouldn't have wanted. That's why I decided to release it separately.

If you don't use any mods that change the "startpos.esf" file and just want these issues fixed you can safely subscribe to this mod!

Full list of Mods currently included:

Family Tree Fixes:
General StartPos Fixes
All fixes are incorporated with permission from the original authors.

Issues fixed:
  • Aksum and Himyar can now have civil wars (broken in Vanilla)
  • Eastern Roman Empire family tree: Arria Flaccilla (daughter of Eutropius in Vanilla) correctly assigned to the "Other Patricians" political faction preventing her from marrying your characters and making them disappear.
  • Geats family tree: Gautrek no longer appears in the "Other Nobles" tab
  • Geats family tree: Gautrek's deceased wife Alfhildr is now visible in the family tree
  • Visigoths are now Arian Christians as they historically were

Compatibility:

This mod is not compatible with mods that change the "startpos.esf" file which includes all major overhauls, mods that add new factions and mods that change the number of turns per year.

This mod is not save game compatible and requires a new campaign to be started!

While this mod is designed to be used in conjunction with the Unofficial Attila Community Patch it's not required and can be used on its own.

I’ve noticed that the map of the Western Roman Empire when selecting it before starting the Grand Campaign doesn’t show Colonia Agrippina, even though you start with it in-game. This makes the province of Belgica appear incomplete. Could someone fix this?

Any chance you could add Arian Visigoths by DeliciousCrackers with +1 fertility version?

@CaptainBaseballBatBoy: As far as I know there isn't. CA said they would keep the bug in the game to preserve save game compatibility. As far as I know the Medieval Kingdoms 1212 team managed to modify building slots of settlements on the campaign map. That however lies beyond my modding abilities, I'm sorry.
