Description
I wanted to play a default random game in survival that I found difficult.
Something challenging to someone who knew how to play.
I also wanted the early game to be more about surviving the environment rather than the Zirax.

I couldn't find anything hard enough, so I made my own.
Now I can start my scenario and feel an on-the-edge-of-your-seat challenge every-time I try it.

I took a couple standard planets and made a few changes while trying to keep the random replay-ability.
I play tested over and over to get the balance right between fun and pain.

Specifically:
1. There is only one starter planet and it's Arid.
2. There are very little resources and the environment is REALLY hoping you don't survive.
3. 80% chance of surviving your first day... if you are experienced with this scenario. First couple times you will die.
4. It's meant to be played in Hard Core Mode. No dying, no respawn! Restart if you fail and try again.
4a. If I make it to level 10 and have a medic bay I personally allow myself a respawn but try really hard not to die again.
5. There is a moon and planet within SV jump distance. Both also have low resources.
6. Only the starter planet, starter moon, starter space, second planet, and solar system are custom
7. All custom playfields are built with randomness and replay-ability in mind.

I have not played this in Co-op a lot. What I do know is that if you try to stick together in the beginning, you will die. There are not enough resources in any one direction for more than one player.
At the same time, there are not enough resources for a duplicate of everything. You must share. Just don't try until after the day and night of survival.

I do want to make the mid to late game with a "domination" winning condition so that you have a reason to take out all of the Zirax, but Eleon has not added that ability yet. Right now I just play that way. The sectors lead you on a progression to the last planet that is the hardest. My goal is to remove the Zirax from the System, each planet is wiped.

The premise/story is:
Your faction has noticed the Ziraz attempting to strip this system bare to fuel their war. Your task is to remove them so your faction can move in. They have very little to offer you in your task, they can only jump into the system, put you in a life-pod and quickly jump away.


This update is for 1.10.4 if you find a problem or enjoy it, give me some feedback.

After DF update no longer playable. The Drone Base diappeared into the nineth dimension, the drones as container gives internal error (no container ID58), the multitool/survival tool gives no ressources while you dismantle things.

Updated (finally). Maintains the original flavour and purpose while being compliant with 1.10.4. Maybe a little harder...

carbon substance solution:

1) open console command window.
(if you dont know what is the hotkey: options --> controls --> console)
2) type "itemmenu" and hit ENTER
3) hit ESCAPE to leave console command window.
4) type "h" to open item menu and find carbon substance
5) disable: in console command window type again "itemmenu" and hit ENTER

Is this updated for 1.8.8?
There's no carbon anywhere on starter planet ... survival impossible without starting with a portable constructor or at least 8 carbon substrate.

I experienced the same. I gutted the bases and got enough neo to make a CV with only a cockpit, small thruster, warp core, warp tank, generator and fuel tank. I highlighted the next planet and lined it up just right (only one thruster so no direction change). Spawned the CV and found it was aiming too low, so I made a ramp, got in, hit the gas and warped as soon as it lined up. Tricky timing, but it was epic. A little too epic for erverytime, so i am tweaking the size of the deposits to add a bit more.

Thanks for this. I am part way thru this game and have found only <10 neo and sathium on few deposits and low ore setting (hard) on second planet. Warped there in an SV. How did you get 900+ neo and 600+ sathium without gutting the drone bases on both planets and the moon? I have begun demolishing the drone base on starter planet and I can't see me getting enough from the starter system. Maybe with the drone base on the second planet, but it would be tight.

- Added Sathium to Second Planet. No gaurantee that the POI's will have it and without it you are stuck.
- Increased Gold chance found in deep lake.
