Simpsons Yorkdale

Description
Robert Simpson Company, Yorkdale Store, North York, Ontario

The Robert Simpson Company, Ltd., or Simpsons, for short, was a Canadian department store chain dating back to the 1850s. Fast-forward over a century later, and find Simpsons in most major Canadian cities. When Yorkdale shopping mall in North York opened in 1964, Simpsons was one of its major tenants--the other being Eatons.

Simpsons was absorbed by the Hudson's Bay Company--another major Canadian department store chain, and this location is now a Hudson's Bay store. It underwent significant renovations a few years ago, and though the iconic shape of the building is still very much present, the facade has changed somewhat.
