Glasgow Central to Carlisle - BR Executive Class 47 Passenger Service

Description
17:31 passenger service from Glasgow Central to Carlisle calling at Motherwell, Carstairs and Lockerbie during October 1987.

Scenario Type: Standard
Difficulty: Medium
Duration: 1hr 40mins
Route: WCML North

Fictional timetable and train AI based on the British Rail period during autumn 1987 in Scotland/England.
Open doors and let passengers on/off at beginning of scenario, at timetabled stations and at final destination.

When you reach Motherwell station there's likely to be a wait of up to two minutes (depending when you arrive) as the scenario editor won't let me make the wait at Motherwell any shorter. I use Motherwell station in real life and it's not uncommon for trains to wait that long there.

DLC required:
DTG WCML North route
DTG WCML Over Shap route
DTG BR Class 303
DTG BR Class 101
DTG Strathclyde Class 101
DTG BR Class 87
DTG European Loco and Asset Pack

More scenarios based on the British Rail period during the 1970's and 1980's are available in my workshop...

Cab is revised and looks better. Better physics. Has ETH that you can switch on. Shame the 47 sound pack isn't compatible however the sounds that come with it aren't too bad.

Thanks David. I don't have that version of the 47, but perhaps it'll be aquired in the future.

Faultless as usual. I swapped the player 47 for a reskined version of the Virgin First Generation pack 47. Same livery. More pleasant drive. Thoroughly enjoyed this run. Fantastic scenario.

Hi Scouser888. Train Simulator is a fickle beast and can crash or not work properly for many reasons. My scenarios are thoroughly tested before being released to public, even then bugs and problems can still arise. I've listed above all DLC required for this scenario and as long as the listed DLC is installed properly, then the scenario is more likely to work. The bus being stuck on the level crossing occasionally is a Train Simulator bug and has nothing to do with scenario scripting. If the scenario is driven fairly cleanly and to line speed limit within drivable reason, then the ETA for each station is achievable. You should watch Carda [NL]'s video mentioned in the comments below. Thanks for your feedback.

Well, that's better. I still had the 'scenario failed to load, broken consist-modified' issue, but as I said before, I resolved that with F2/cancel. Also, this time the throttle was working properly, and I simply solved that by unsubscribing/resubscribing. There was a bus stuck on a level crossing, just before Motherwell, and since it wouldn't move, I had to drive right through it. Quite a few adverse signals in places. 'to keep you on your toes'.I overshot the platform at Carstairs by two coaches, as I was going too fast, but to no ill effect. I was late arriving/departing Carlisle, but all was OK. The only advice I would offer is, if you are driving with the F4 HUD, don't bother looking at the ETA, as it's inaccurate and will only depress you! Overall a well thought out and constructed scenario and quite enjoyable. Well done, Wakeless.

There are a number of things I don't understand. 1, right at the beginning a screen pops up and says, ' scenario failed to load, broken consist-modified'. I have no idea what that means, but overcame it with F2/cancel. 2, Then on level track, although the speed limit was 75 mph, with full throttle, I could only achieve 33.7 mph and I was going to be late arriving at Motherwell. I assume I have got a faulty download, so I have unsubscribed/subscribed and I will try it again. Not impressed so far, which is too bad, as I really like this route.

Yeah I wished there were more stations in between Carstairs and Lockerbie. I dont know if they exist in real life or not (probably not). I hope your next route(s) are going to continue with trains like this.

Hi Carda. Just watched your video and enjoyed it very much. Interesting to watch someone else drive this scenario and you drove it rather well. Carstairs to Lockerbie is a long drive as there's no other stations inbetween. No need to delete your post, I don't mind you promoting the video here.
