PRR GG1 - Conrail

This mod adds 2 Conrail GG1's to the game. These are repaints of the generic PRR GG1 available in Transport Fever.

  • 1976-1978 Black & white scheme.
  • 1978-1980 Blue & white scheme.

Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail) was created in 1976 by the U.S. government and acquired assets from a number of bankrupt railroads, including a number of GG1's from the former Penn Central. Initially painted black and white, they were later painted in the more commonly known Conrail blue and white scheme.

  • DDS textures
  • Aging with dirt and rust.
  • Asset version.

Technical Details:
  • Max Speed: 100 mph (160 kph)
  • Power: 4,620 horsepower (3,450 kW)
  • Tractive Effort: 65,500 lbf (291 kN)
  • Availability: (see above)
  • Cost: (determined by game)

  • This mod adds new vehicles without altering other game items.
  • Custom colors and logos have been disabled.

@n.chiri - Thanks again for informing of the bogie/wheel issue. You are correct, Urban Games did update their model file sometime after I had started doing GG1 repaints. Therefore I never picked up the change. I have now updated this mod and will go on to update the my other GG1 repaints.

@n.chiri - Thank you for the info. I've seen this problem on another model, but didn't realize the GG1 model had the problem. I will get that corrected on all my GG1's.

Also, I don't use the GG1 right now because of the broken animations.

n.chiri, The default GG1 model is broken in the default game. There are also a ton of other default models missing those same lines. Many trams are missing them too. I really want Urban Games to fix the darn things already. It has been like that from the beginning.

I believe you're using an outdated version of the MDL file for the repaints. I'm saying this because every single GG1 repaint on the workshop seems to have this problem, this one included. Fortunately it's very easy to fix. The vanilla GG1 has two pairs of lines for the axles, meanwhile the repaints only have one pair. Adding that missing pair -and of course adjusting it- fixes this problem of the wheels and trucks not moving.

@n.chiri - Appreciate the feedback. I will look into it. I find it odd as the model file I use is based on the generic GG1 model file.

Dwebster, I don't know if you noticed but your previous repaints of the GG1 have a problem with the wheels and trucks. They don't move at all. I figured out they lacked some lines on the MDL file. Other GG1 repaints are also affected by this.

This one has been sitting in limbo since I started it back in January. The Conrail lettering on the nose of the blue & white version was problematic. Still isn't 100% right, but okay if you don't look too close.
