The option to start private games had to be removed for the mod to get sanctioned

Allows you to host a quick play session even if you are alone in the keep. Other players might still join your game.

type /host_toggle into the chat to toggle on and off.

Important
As the purpose of the quick play function is to fill open lobbies you will have to actively enable the solo-host-function by typing '/host_toggle' every time you start up your game (game != lobby).

I can ensure you that the non present people writing issue is rare and happened before this mod existed.
Someone was able to prove that it had something to do with something not syncing right as he exited a lobby due to some kind of bug or desync and was able to see the people from the previous game (names matched) writhing in his next games chat.

this mod doesn't see to change anything. i start a quick play and end of running off to some ratards paradise where they think they should skip all the tomes. what am i doing wrong???

This issues sound like some variables will not properly get reset. I will run some tests and hopefully find a solution.
The only solution I can think of for you is to disable and enable the mod in the mod-settings (f4) after every game (before searching/hosting again). If, like @Alistair MacBain said, the mod works correct for the first game this should fix it temporarily. If you try this let me know if this fixes it so I can look for a similar permanent fix.

Getting the impression that something is bugged. First game all is fine. Second game is weird. Everytime someone tries to join they leave during the join process pretty quick. The second and more games never fill up.

A discerning thing i observed during the usage of this mod (as in: it never happened before): people can join while the lobby is full. You get no message of them joining or disconnecting, but sometimes they write in chat. Once i had 3 people not in my party writing text messages, and that is not counting the people not writing in chat and just leaving. They said they have an endless black loading screen. Could this be caused by this mod or am i jumping to conclusions here? It may be on Fatsharks end but i waited a time after mod wave 3 before using the mod and only after activating it i sometimes get the odd ghostly chat message.

@Vanacut thanks for that info, but i'm writing quite a lot during sessions so that that takes the same amount of time to accomplish. Nice to know though!

I've had the same experience with this mod, people are not able to join immediately even as you enter a map, but rather nearly halfway through it, during daytime in Sweden.

Takes really long to get people into my game with this. I'm usually done with 30% of the map by the time the first person joins. This doesn't happen if QP just forces me host without the mod, only if I use it. I can guarantee you, I'm not playing during dead times in an obscure region, I can easily find games close with very low ping during those times. Feels like this mod puts you into really low priority queue via matchmaking.
