[ATTENTION] Some of the following content was cut from the final version of the game and/or was present only in alpha/beta builds. But the fact that something is not in the game doesn't mean that it is not a part of the story/world/lore! But it also doesn't mean that it is! All this is just a speculation!

I advise you to also read comments in this and all mentioned guides since people have their own opinions, information pieces and theories.





As you may know, there are the R. King notes hidden around the ship. If you don't it would be better to read this guide first and/or find all notes by yourself.

One of the notes is only visible when using Dweller Mask and is encrypted.



You can have a closer look at the photos on the background and some others here[imgur.com].

A cipher is not hard. It's still written in English but using a different alphabet.
Here is a a table that will help you to decipher the text.

[UPD. 2] New Note, Death Wish Cup, Something Strange???

In the attic of your ship you were able to find a note in the mousehole. There were some other stuff like castle. Now in the castle there is a new(?) note and a cup with titles "Doka", "DW King" and "1st to 111". 111 is the exact number of Death Wish stamps excluding the secret one.



In the same place but inside Time Rift "Tour" there is also something strange...

This guy, MysteriousSFM, seems to be a 3D model creator of Hat Kid. Here is also a lead 3D artist of "A Hat in Time". I don't see any deep lore there, but they are posting nice artworks, so it worth to see.

Ari also was mentioned in related tweets. It has been said that she is also a "mole", whatever that means...

Decryption:

Within the darkness a light spoke to me. I didn't know what it was but I felt I had no other choice but to trust it. As the light spoke I felt a familiarity. Did I know this entity? Without warning I felt a pressure in my head and the images of things that were flooded my mind.

The woman in black. The day I met her, father explained that she was, in a manner of speaking, my grandmother. I didn't quite understand at the time but this was the beginning of my new life.
Wrapped in the shadow of the moon my life as a student of Master Tempus began. But those around me treated me differently. I suppose it was strange having a dream creature. Live in their world was along for the longest time but then she saved me. A person that I would call my closest friend.

After lessons were over we would explore the dream world that my father made for us. They were the happiest days of my life so why... why did he betray us if it wasn't for him. Time's End wouldn't have happened and she wouldn't have left. I tried to stop her but she only said one thing - that a voice was calling out to her to make the choice.

I was all along with no purpose. i travelled across the dreams and that's when I saw her. How could she still be alive? But she seemed different and then darkness... The pain. I screamed out. She took my light away from me but I was able to escape before she took the other.

I could feel it. The twilight is expanding. As I looked at my body I could see it slowly being taken over. Father said there was no hope for us. But he had a plan. He said there was a way to bring her back. For now I sleep for the day that she wakes.

[UPD. 5] Nyakuza: little secrets, one more twitter

Hey hey hey! Nyakuza DLC is out and it means that there must be a bunch of secrets! The Nyakuza Metro is a big place and it will take much time to find everything it hides. Unfortunately, I haven't found any notes yet. But don't worry! I'll keep searching.

This is just a small update about a few things that got my attention.

First of all, in a room with "Wowza!" sticker i thought that this is a nice place to hide a secret. And I was right. Thre is a cookie in time! But no notes there, only a drawing of Star.







Also there are the same drawings on a deskboard in "Rumbi Facotry" Time Rift.



Secondly, in the same Time Rift on the second level of it you can find a Story Page and an opened box.



And in the box - a hidden body...











Another thing I noticed is a little fish with a hat. The bending machine right besides doesn't have one, so I decided that this is worth to mention. But if you have seen this Hat Fish, let my know, I will remove this part.

Now we are talking about serious stuff. Do you recognize this place? What you want is to get to the top of it because that's the place where all the fun begins. Just follow the instruction I drew.



Once you are there you will find a jump-pad and a cage.



The cage contains an egg. You can actually interact with the cage, but the only thing you get is a voiceline saying "Egg".

The new DLC is released and it sure is buggy as hell xD

But among all of the bugs there are secrets. I found one (it's not hard to find). And where is one, there are more. I gonna be looking for more, probably when bugs are fixed. So stay tuned.

On the outside yard there is a tomb. 2 players can open it by standing on buttons. Or you can get inside thru sewer hatch using Ice Hat. The hatch is located at the furthest point of the yard, on a upper platform, green ghost platforms lead to it.





Behind the tomb is a cipher with some images.

Madeleine Edison is his daughter.

But how are they related to the game? I believe they are not. Above the text the first drawing is a boy with pointy hair and a sword.

In 90s a cancelled game "Dream: Land of Giants[banjokazooie.fandom.com]" (Codenamed "Project Dream") was in development. It was a predecessor of Banjo-Kazooie series.

The game featured a main hero named Edson[banjokazooie.fandom.com], who looks pretty similar to the drawing, while Madeleine[banjokazooie.fandom.com] was his girlfriend.

I believe those two were indeed named after the American inventor and his daughter, but with hero's name changed on purpose. The devs has a tweet about it.

I can't tell how Rare Ltd. and Gears for Breakfast (or Vanessa's Curse devs) are related.

The tomb probably contains Edson. Possibly trying to pay respects and perpetuate Project Dream?

What about other drawings?
After Edson comes Hat Kid shaking hands with a bigger lady (is this grown up Hat Kid? Or maybe Puella?)
Then go 3 penguins (???) with a rocket flying to a circle (moon? planet?).

I think Puella may be Hat Kid, who was named as "H" Hat Kid never had an official name, so it could be a possibility. Hat Kid was named 'Hat Kid' due to definition on first meeting. But it was never decided by her, she never seemed to mind, but H could possibly mean she IS Puella, so this could lead to tremendous backstories and explanations. You said that Puella was meant to be taught in time, so it is also another lead on Hat Kid.
