simple mod to allows you to equipt guns, weapons, etc in you hand while riding on any dino. Works with moded and non moded. Stackable and very small footprint.

Fantastic mod that addresses a problem that should not exist. I am trying to make my own mod to address another problem related to using weapons while mounted, the inability to do this...

...simply aim backwards.

I need to find the yaw limit that is imposed on the player while using a weapon and mounted. I have had no luck so far despite much help from the Ark Modding Community. Nobody seems to know where this parameter is. Do you know how to adjust this, Temil2006?

I like this mod but like TheIrishStud said it needs some TLC and it hasn't had any of that since 2018. Is there not another one out there that is being worked on and update?

After extended use I've found that some saddles are simply too big and view obstructing to bother trying to shoot off of because the saddles are so big that I more often than not end up shooting my own dinosaur instead of a wild dinosaur. Don't get me wrong I love this mod but it needs to some TLC in the future after the game is completed for this mod to really shine. ^_^

I've figured almost everything out, but I can't find an appropriate/accessible event to hook in the player buff for when an object is mounted. I can see events related to possession and mounting, but can't seem to bind to those or listen to them in any way. I know I can check the isRiding value every tick, but that seems less than ideal. Am I missing something much more efficient?

Daedalon, I don't mind sharing, but out of town for business and dont have alot of time for the mods right now. but if you follow the below, you should be able to see how i did it.

1. create a very basic singleton which applies a buff to any player on spawn.
2. buff on the player has 2 events. first is the event that check if the current player is mounted, since it's a single action, for the single player, its very light height. once the mounted is detected.. it triggers the second function which uses the "ridingDino" as actor to make the change to (hench the "can use weapons" flag" . checks it, and change it if it's not allready set.

that's really about it. Some of my other mods I use similar to make them stackable. if it's not based on mounted, then can also make a Sphere that detects within a small range all dinos, players, etc. any dino you detect and save as an actor ca nbe referenced to change values. if you still need more info, let me know.

@Temil2006 Is there any chance you could share the complete source for this mod? I'm really interested in both how you created your Singleton (I assume deriving a blueprint from PrimalStructure) and how you call your custom event without modifying the original blueprints. I've wasted hours trying to search online for helpful information and tutorials to alter various tamed dinosaur properties via buff much the way I think this mod does, but useful results and examples for ARK are rare, and searching UE4 yields results that are too generic/irrelevant. Being able to modify certain properties on creatures and other objects without creating a mod conflicts by replacing the class with a copy or child would be super helpful! Feel free to reply here or contact directly. Thanks!
