Barenpark w/ Bad News Bears (Scripted)

Description
Description from the publisher:

Up to two thousand pounds in weight and over ten feet tall, the bear is considered the biggest and heaviest terrestrial carnivore in the world. Of course, there is not just "one bear"; on the contrary, there are plenty of subspecies that differ from each other in various aspects. For instance, only the Kodiak bear (ursus arctos middendorffi) weighs about 2,000 lbs. The polar bear (ursus maritimus) weighs "only" 1,100 lbs., but gets much bigger than the Kodiak bear, being as much as 11 ft. tall!

Bärenpark takes you into the world of bears, challenging you to build your own bear park. Would you like another polar bear enclosure or rather a koala* house? The park visitors are sure to get hungry on their tour through the park, so build them places to eat! Whatever your choices are, make sure you get the next building permit and use your land wisely! (* No, koalas aren't bears but they're so cute, we couldn't leave them out of this game!)

In more detail, each player in Bärenpark builds their own bear park, attempting to make it as beautiful as they can, while also using every square meter possible. The park is created by combining polyomino tiles onto a grid, with players scoring for animal houses, outdoor areas, completed construction, and more. The sooner you build it, the better! Cover icons to get new tiles and park sections. The game ends as soon as one player has finished expanding their park, then players tally their points to see who has won.

AWARDS & HONORS
2017 Meeples' Choice Nominee
2017 Golden Geek Best Family Board Game Nominee

Bärenpark: The Bad News Bears contains three separate modules that can be used individually or together with the Bärenpark base game.

One module contains a set of new goals that can be shuffled together with those in the base game.

A second module allows you to add grizzly bears to your bear park, with the grizzly bear tiles occupying six squares in a park section. That's quite a lot, isn't it? Well, to give your park room to grow, you now must add a fifth park section and fill it in order to complete the game. This expansion contains four new park sections, each with an exit gate so that visitors won't be stuck inside your park forever.

A third module contains skinny monorail tiles that start with a value of ten points and decrease in value as you add them to your bear parks. How does one add a monorail? First you need to place tiles in your park that each contain space for a pillar, and you need to place them at the proper distance. Once you have two pillars in place, you take the topmost monorail tile, then balance it on the pillars. Now everyone can scoot around your park looking down at the bears!

Mod Notes:

The Entrances and starting player are randomized. Use the script buttons in the center to setup the board for the number of people playing. If you want to include variants, click check boxes before selecting number of players.

Bärenpark was my first mod ever, and a year later, with Bärenpark: The Bad News Bears, I had to redo a few things due to some beginner mistakes I had made the first time. It should be loading faster now, and I've added a few new features:

* Any tile from the supply board placed back on the supply board will be positioned to it's starting position.

* Hands have been activated, and tiles there count as in your supply. Placing tiles next to your park still works too.

* When selecting Achievements, you can put dice on the board to lock them, or off the board to roll them. There are also multiple dice in the bag, that are weighted towards certain achievements. If you want weighted dice of other varieties, feel free to comment.

* Typing "Score Off" in the chat, will disable the score from being displayed. Typing "Score On" will bring it back.

* The Grizzly Module adds a 5th Park Area for each player, so in case 2 players' play areas get too close together, I've added arrows to the bottom of the Entrances to shift your play areas around.

I want to thank MrStump and Sancho for creating the guides and examples that taught me how to script TTS. A lot of my scripting here is based off of their work.

I should also thank draxous for making the models for the Monorail Cars and Towers, and then helping me learn to model, so I could remake all the tiles to fit together better.

Please also note that a mod that makes selection for this list very well could be one in which the mod author borrowed the majority of assets from another workshop listing, so full thanks to all who worked on a mod.

Thanks for your hard work!

Loaded the mod twice yesterday, the score appeared for one of the players but not for the rest. I have not done anything with the notes when I loaded the mod. I will try to unsubscribe and subscribe again.

It never appears? Not even when first loading the mod? It should be in the notes on the right side of the screen. Or did you remove the notes, and are not able to get them back?

Not sure if it's just me but the automated scoring is not appearing. Neither typing "Score On' works.

Thank you very much for this great mod, and for adding the expansion, too! :) The scripts are amazing and very helpful!

No problem. It should have occurred to me to allow for that sooner.

Wow, thanks a lot for the quick response!

Ask and you shall receive: Deleting the Notes, or typing "Score Off" in the chat, will disable the score from being displayed. Typing "Score On" will bring it back.

Would it be possible for you to add an option to disable automatic points during the game? I can't figure out a way to disable notes temporarily, and we prefer not to see the points before the game is over. Thanks for the great mod!
