Vanguard Stern

Description
Vanguard

BOKA Vanguard (formerly Dockwise Vanguard) is a semi-submersible heavy lift ship owned and operated by Dockwise B.V. Dockwise Vanguard is the largest vessel of her type ever built, and is able to carry cargoes up to 110,000 tonnes.Dockwise Vanguard was designed to move offshore oil and gas facilities, but can also carry other ships and act as an offshore dry dock facility.

As offshore oil and gas facilities have grown in size, Dockwise saw a market for a ship that could carry the largest floating oil rigs to their destinations, reducing time and costs of transportation and allowing rigs to be built economically in a shipyard. In conjunction with Finland based Deltamarin, they designed a ship called the Type-0 heavy lift vessel, later renamed Dockwise Vanguard following an in-house competition won by Gerry Sarlis and Anthony van Ginkel.

Description:

The Vanguard was heavy based on the BOKA Vanguard mentioned above. This project has been a work in progess the last few weeks while other projects have taken the majority of my time however it has finally recieved some attention.

Features:

- Ship can be sunk and raised in order float other vehicles. Currently tested to lift 400 tons
- Has 3 cranes to load and offload cargo. Currently tested to lift 40 tons each.
- Cruise Control
- 6 Ballast Tanks
- Auto Stabilization
- Auto night lights
- Auto locks on crane tower doors to prevent water flooding certain compartments.
- 2 20ft ISO container magnets in the bow of the ship on the main deck.
- 4 Azipods (Left/Right too strafe ship)

Instructions:

Reccomended use only in semi calm waters!

You have two options for spawning this. Either you can spawn the stern first followed by the bow. This will require you to get on the stern and activate the moving engine to push it out of dock. Followed by spawning the bow and joining the two pieces together. You will then have to individually load both lifeboats. The second option is to spawn it usings the mission I created which contains all pieces of the ship. This is much easier and reduces the amount of time spend constucting the ship.

Once you have spawned the ship. Make your way up to the bridge and engage both engines. Mapped to 1 on the pilot seat.

For sinking or lifting, make your way to the back control panel located in the bridge and turn the key to fill balast tank, You will then need to key in your desired depth (-1 to -8). Once filled you can then turn the key off. To lift the ship you can then turn the key that says drain ballast tanks. This will lift the ship and remove all water in the tanks.

For lifting vehicles that are extra heavy I reccomend you use the two extra lift levers on the same control panel as the ballast tank system. You have the choice of either lifting the bow or stern.

To use the supports that are located on the deck. Make your way to the middle most control panel located in the bridge and use the control to move these. This will help with ships that have a curved hull. For extra support you can use the 4 winches located on each tower.

A big thank you to Tajin and Red Paradise for their help with the PID's
