Oval Mirror Map

Description
Oval Mirror Map

Map is written based on pangea script adjusted to generate oval-shaped land.
West side of the map is used for mirroring process.

Following features are mirrored:
-terrain
-resources
-improvements (goody huts)
-rivers
-cliffs
-starting positions of players and city states
-natural wonders (only one-tile natural wonders are placed on the map)

Distance of players' starting positions to center of X axis is set to 6-8 hexes. It sums for total 12-16 hexes between players.
Distance of city states' starting positions to center of X axis is set to minimum of 9 hexes. This means that city states are placed behind players.

Recommended settings:
Map Size: Dual
Number of Players: 2
Number of City States: 4

Known bugs / next steps:
-Missing strategic resources. In case the left part of the map doesn't have specific startegic resource, then it will be missing on entire map, when mirroring process is complete.
-No natural wonders larger than 1-tile (they can't be correctly rotated)
-Goody huts may be placed too close of players/city states.

Sounds good.

I rerolled your Hex Mirror Map 3-4 times using Reveal Entire Map to see what it can do. Impressed with what I saw, I've since disabled the map revealing mod, and started a single player game. Playing it now.

Looking forward to seing what you do with your mods in the near future. :steamthumbsup:

@ubereffect thank you for all your comments! I will update descriptions over next weekend, and will also look on other open topics. I plan to do some fixing/cleanup first (code, screenshots, list all features), and then in next weeks/months maybe try to implement some new features.

If I remember correctly, this map should already work for more than 2 players, as positions are cloned, however I've never fully tested this feature.

Any chance of adding a proper in game description for this mod?

I edited the description in 'OvalMirrorMap.modinfo' and 'MapText.xml' that shows up in both the mod selection and map selection screens. Changed from repeating the map name, to the following: "A balanced, randomly generated, oval shaped mirror map. Recommended Settings: 2 players, 4 City-States, Duel map size."

I also edited the hover over teaser text in the mod selection screen from displaying the map name, to the following: "East and west sides of map are mirror images of themselves, with exactly the same terrain and features."

And while I was at it, I changed the map name as it appears in the map selection screen to "Mirror Oval 2". By renaming both of your Mirror Maps to start with the word "Mirror", they're all grouped up together with the default four-player mirror map now, in the map selection screen. So if I want to play a mirror map, I have options for 2, 4, and 8 players, all right next to each other.
