Overview

The 4th edition to the Leopard family in War Thunder the Leopard 2K is a Experimental Leopard that, after the MBT/KPZ program failed, the Germans quickly made a tank to compete. The Leopard 2K is armed with a 120mm Rheinmetall L44 cannon, a roof mounted 20mm Rh202 auto cannon, a Coaxial MG3A1, and 8x 76mm smoke grenade launchers.
This tank is a huge step up from the earlier versions of the Leopard series. Although it has thin armor dont let that fool you. The high angle that it is slopped at helps bounce some of the most destructive shells in the game at tier 6. Another factor that helps the Leopard 2K is that the armor is also spaced. With 33mm of High hardness Rolled armor, 120mm of Air, then another 23mm of Rolled homogeneous armor. The top speed for this Leopard is 70 km/h. The turret Rotation is 34 °/s making it one of the fastest turn rates for a tank. Vertical guidance is -9/+20°.

Ammo

The Leopard 2K has only 2 ammo choices. The DM12 HEATFS and the DM13 APFSDS. The Stock round is the DM12 HEATFS with 650mm of penetration at 500m on unslopped armor and has a travel speed of 1,140 m/s . Being the first round you get it will be free. The second ammunition choice you have is DM13 APFSDS and is a Tier 1 upgrade for the Leopard 2K. It has 410mm of penetration at 500m on unslopped armor and has a travel speed of 1,650 m/s.

The Pros and Cons

Pros:
-Great mobility
-Gun is good
-Trolly Armor
-20mm cannon can be used to kill planes+spot tanks at longer ranges


Cons:
-expensive tank to use (13,651 SL per-repair)
-Although trolly armor, the Thin armor can be a burden

General play style

Use the speed of the Leopard 2K to your advantage and try to get to caps first. But in other cases try not to be seen. The "flank and spank" tactic really works well with this tank.

I'd go with Centurion. When I think "tank" from the perspective who hasn't seen a real tank and only saw one from Command & Conquer, that's how I imagine they look in person.
