FTL in Forts

Ever wanted to experience space battles in forts? Well, here's your chance anyway. Two intercepter styled ships (Corvette vs a Viper) are moored in place to duke it out. Astroids are non-buildable so the moorings cannot be rebuilt once destroyed. This map uses zero gravity physics so weapon and explosion recoil will have an impact. Watch your drift as astroids behind you may prove hazardous to your well being.

This map is a modification of Ximsa's Space Ship map. Full credit goes to him for the origonal ship designs.

Playing in zero-gravity iopens up a lot of possibilities for the game. I'd love to see a thruster mod that would allow you to fly these forts around the map.


*UPDATE: Added MG defenses and AI to both sides. Will continue to refine AI over the coming weaks.

**Some additional thoughts: This map has a lot of room for improvement. For one, i'd like to see a much larger play area with the distance between ships greatly increased. Also, i'm sure someone smarter than I will eventually create a thruster mod that will allow us to cut free of our moorings and fly around the map at will.
