Arma III SFODA Application
The SF ODA model enjoys great tactical application for A3
  • 1; 12 man team
  • 2; 6 man teams
  • Allows for small groups of players to plays as part of a large force (platoon)
  • Can be used to train other Soldiers
  • Has the fighting equivalent of a platoon of several military specialties (infantry/medical/communication/engineer etc)
  • The specialized nature of SF ODA team members allow them to act as Force Multipliers

Each of the specialties can:
(weapons/medical/communication/engineer)
  • Execute specialized attacks/tactics (JTAC/indirect fires/medical etc)
  • Be given a specific role on the battlefield
Ex: Engineers will provide perimeter defense once an OBJ is secured
Ex: Weapon SGTs will transport and assemble HMG for defensive/offensive ops
Ex: Commo SGTs will contact Air Support/Artillery to prepare a target list
Ex: Medic SGTs will refurbish medical supplies and 'repair' Soldiers

Lavender System...your position is appreciated. The intent is to screen out players who have no real-world experience. From personal experience with enablers, their role on the battlefield is highly appreciate and critical to mission success. A review of the requirements will be looked into and any new and/or modified requirements will be reflected in the 'Overview' section. As your own commentary has noted, many SOFs of the various Armed Forces branches do not currently have a 'combat patch', let alone a 'CIB'; 'CAB' or 'Combat Medic' badge. Therefore, now more than ever, the combat experience is less related to the MOS as to the deployment experience of individual Soldiers. Because of this change post GWOT, a review will be conducted as previously described. Thank you for your input.

BTW... every single Bn under 1SFC(A)'s command has an embedded FSC, not a BSC. The difference is one of capabilities, with BSCs being better oriented to Rear-D operations and FSC being the more readily mobilized alongside their corresponding Bn. We are the ones who manage everything from the moment an RFS comes up to the moment that our GBs have their boots back on American soil. GSB just generally exists; the FSCs are who carries out the Movement/Sustainment mission. (2/2)

I'm just gonna throw this out there, coming from the background of having been an enabler attached to 2/1SFG(A) with the 214 to back it up (although no CAB, seeing as my truck was never the one to get hit), and knowing damn well that you'll discount it immediately... you're throwing out *a lot* of the most usable input you could possibly get by specifying the requirement to have a CIB.

I lost count of the number of GBs I got into country who didn't have a CIB... and I've personally worked alongside 5 enablers with CABs for every GB who had earned a CIB. Hell, I've worked with GBs who had a CAB but not a CIB, because the O-6 rule. (1/2)

I have a DD-214 and a CIB and your "don't comment unless you have a DD-214" is the most asinine thing I have seen in along while. Congrats you got the douche trophy of the month.
