Milk floats are vehicles specifically designed to deliver fresh milk. Nowadays, milk floats are usuallly battery powered or horse drawn, but this special fella still has a diesel powered engine. Milk floats were once common in many European countries, especially the United Kingdom, and were operated by local dairies. However, in recent years, they have almost went extinct because of the raise of supermarkets, independent grocers, petrol stations and convenience stores stocking more fresh milk through regular home delivery.
