Sniper: Guide to Camping, Scouting, and True Sniping.

A guide to making Sniper more of a team player, as well as some tips that may help.

If you came here looking to get the best build and guide info, go somewhere else. I decided to make an experimental guide that I have not tested yet. Use these tips at your own risk. Try a practice match if your not sure these will work, as I am not sure they will.

Tactics

Scouting can be a useful tactic to create the perfect gank or chase. Camping can ensure that you don't die in the process. True Sniping then just ties to Sniper and his "Assassinate" ability.

Scouting

Scouting can provide crutial info to pushing towers and ganking Heroes. Be sure to stay clear of most danger when scouting. If any danger comes your way, run. If you stop to fight, Sniper can't just tank the damage. Boost your move speed early game to make sure that scouting doesn't feed the enemy. A good tactic for this is to carry Shadow Blade. The bonus move speed and invisibility can provide enough time to escape Heroes. Also, be sure not to run straight into other enemies, who will add to the pursuit. Try to run towards your allies or turrets if you can. They may be ablle to kill or scare off your chaser. Then, rest and heal and get back to scouting. To continue scouting even when your not there, buy Observer and Sentry wards. These little things can provide great info. Pair a Sentry and Observer to see invisible enemies as well as other wards. Buy Gem of True Sight so you can see invisible units and remove enemy wards. The next tactic can help to give another way to escape and chase.

Camping

Camping is just another form of scouting, only more stationary. One good Radiant camping spot is on the small mesa near the rune between mid and top. This is not only a good rune ward spot, but a camping spot as well. There are only a few ways up to the top of the mesa and are all expensive. The easiest way is to buy Blink Dagger. Just teleport up to the top and start camping. Another way is to use Force Staff, but that is harder and more expensive. One experimental tactic is to buy a ward an place is on that mesa. Then, get Boots of Travel (Not TP Scroll) and try to TP to the ward. I am testing this soon and will update this to be sure. Anyway, the items in the scouting section above can be used on the mesa and are actually a good idea to be sure no one is messing with your little camp. Buying a Bottle can help when you are low and want to heal and regen mana. Then, find a rune at one of the rune spawns and use it instantly. Getting a rune actually refills your bottle automaticlly, therefore letting you heal while still out on the field. Check the next section below for a bonus tactic!

True Sniping and Extra Scouts!

True Sniping involves camping and using Sniper's ability "Assassinate". The radius is high enough that you can snipe someone, hide, and then wait and repeat. This can translate to kills at levels as low as level 6. Buying Refresher Orb and some mana restoring items can mean a double use of "Assassinate".

Nature's Prophet - Teleportation ability

Tried out, the blink dagger and orb tactic. Works really well, sniper got enough damage late game cause of the headshot skill. This is the guide to sniper: Master of mobility.

Sniper has good passives, but for some reason, all the public players I've seen so far (bot or pub match) only play him for the kill steals O-o
