Mid Beastmaster is Bestmaster
By zakalwe
This is a guide to dominate the early and mid game with Beastmaster.

In the laning phase you hit hard, have high damage and a great attack animation. Feel free to take some harassment in last hits to get your bottle. At level 3, begin using your boar to harass the enemy player in mid. Use your bird to scout for runes and potential ganks and use your axes to push the lane in order to secure runes.

When you hit 6, immediately start looking for a kill with your roar. You can often start pushing towers this early too - the threat of the roar is enough to scare many enemies away, while your boar makes for excellent pushing.

Beastmaster's item build is extremely situational - ask yourself what your team needs and build accordingly. Mekanism is a great all round item for your team, but feel free to build into either a blink dagger, Aghanim's Scepter or necro book if you feel you need it. An early gem can also be an excellent choice - simply stand in range of an enemy ward, use your bird to get vision and your boar can kill it.

As you progress into the late game your damage becomes less relevant, but your roar and boar do not. Keep your boar on their right click carry and try to roar their carry as well - unless they have a high priority target like enigma. Roar, boar and axe damage all go through bkb so Beastmaster's abilties are still useful late game.

The main thing to keep in mind is that if Beastmaster is best played aggressively in the mid game. Your dominant strength is map control and you need to win the early and mid game enough to translate to end game victory. Pile the pressure on early and mid game, take towers and win mid-game teamfights through the vision of your bird and the utility of your skillset.

Beastmaster is Bestmaster.
