Description
Want a sword on your sniper? A pistol on your ranger? A gremlin on your grenadier? You know how it works by now.

This is a recompliation of Utility Slot Sidearms Extended for WOTC. The only modifications are appending "WOTC" to the name, adding support for new WOTC weapons and abilities (which is actually kind of a big change), and a few other changes to make it compile in the WOTC SDK. It also includes a few animation fixes,as well as the ability to not conflict with my other mods.

Do not use this mod at the same time as Ginger's Utility Slot Sidearms WOTC. Nothing good will happen.

Special thanks to GrimyBunyip for the original Utility Slot Sidearms, without which this mod could not and would not exist, and to Iridar, for the autopistol fan fire animations.

WOTC Version. It should also work fine with TLP.

Well will say for one thing, it went well.

Slightly disappointed though as it doesn't do some of the same things as the other USS WOTC mod. (Like having the katanas, axes and modded secondary weaponry) appear but, it's not a huge issue so, I won't bother ye with it. Probably a bit of a pain in the arse to get all of that to work. -w-;

I tested it some days ago and it doesn't work but doesn't really break the game, sometimes the Skirmisher wrist blade would appear on some random soldiers but aside from that it was like this mod wasnt installed at all, I will make sure to use it with your on my next playthrough, which, if you don't mind asking, I assume works like EU?(basically turning any soldier into a Psionic instead of just rookies)

It may or may not. The safest approach is to start a new game, of course, but you could try.

First and foremost make a backup save so if it all goes wrong you can roll back.

Anyway, once you've done that, first, make sure you're in strategy (i.e., aboard the Avenger) and not in tactical. Unequip all utility slot weapons and save the game, and quit out.

Install Remove Missing Mods and restart the game with Utility Slot Sidearms WOTC disabled and this mod enabled. You'll get a red warning box but ignore that.

If your game doesn't crash, then click "Unbind Missing Mods" and save your game again. Then quit out again.

When you start the game this time, you should have Utility Slot Sidearms Extended enabled, but you no longer need Remove Missing Mods. You shouldn't get a red warning box anymore.

If the game loads again, you're probably safe, but I'd check all of my soldiers' weapons and such to be sure.

Hmm.... would it break my game if I try to replace the current utility slot sidearms mod that I have rn with this one? I figured I'd ask before Itry anything.

I didn't add the TLP weapons to the config by default because they aren't infinite items and making a utility slot version of an item essentially makes a copy of it so now you'd have two, and that's kind of weird.

If you don't care about this, you can edit the ini (XComUtilitySlotSidearmsExtendedWOTC.ini) and add +PistolNames="TLE_Pistol_CV" or whatever version of the weapon you want.

Alternatively, or if you don't feel like messing around with ini files, you can use Three Tier Cosmetic Weapons TLP and it will create cosmetic versions of the TLP weapons, which are infinite, and then making utility slot versions of them will work normally.

@($S360)Aeronautic - Because a lot of us still use the class mod which adds just the LW2 classes and is compatible with WOTC. It requires the mod that ports over the secondary weapons like the sawed-off shotgun, and that's where some of us seem to be having issues. After playing the original Long War, playing XCOM without a sawed-off just doesn't sit right with me.
