Description
This mod nerfs the Warp Lightning spell from the Skaven Lore of Ruin. The object is mainly to reduce its effect on siege battles so fighting them against the Skaven is less of a nightmare. Note this will nerf Warp Lightning for the player. If you really like the perks of the spell in sieges or field battles: Do not subscribe to this mod, or uncheck it from the launcher when playing your Skaven campaigns. It takes it down a fair bit. It's a small value change, so it should be compatible with anything that doesn't change Warp Lightning itself, and be fine to take on and off as one pleases.

The object was to make Warp Lightning less reliable, less concentrated, and less spammable. The actual raw damage per bolt was not touched, but the number of bolts has been reduced. The end result should be less casts, less often, and more likely to fizzle (hit nothing) or hit unintended targets (Life is Cheap). If it feels off to some feel free to leave a comment about what you notice.

Changes are noted in Normal Cast/Overcast.

-Number of bolts per cast has been reduced from 5/10 to 3/6. This cuts its damage potential without changing the actual bolt value. It also makes it look kind of sad.

-Radius Spread has increased from 8/8 to 12/9. To help with the "kill all siege tower units" problem. The bolts are more likely to go astray from the center of the cast. With the normal cast more affected.

-Cooldown increased from 24/24 to 36/36. Just to help lessen the rapidity of the spell casts.

-Mana cost increased from 5/10 to 8/14. The biggest limiter. Slows down the number of casts and cuts down the number of potential casts by more than half.

I did this modification pretty quickly. My intent was to nerf some of the more annoying parts of the spell while still keeping it a threat, but mostly to make siege battles against Skaven less of an auto-resolve-fest. I'm not completely satisfied with it. When I have more time I'd like to do enough tests to lean more on making it less reliable (very Skaven!) while lowering its damage, but keeping the bolt number intact, as reducing the bolts has the effect of almost killing off its visual flair.

This mod still being updated? I desperately hope so, their spells are just ruining my entire campaign experience, as i'm sure you've all had to deal with too.

had like 10 units of dwarf warriors hitting a skaven nerd and he just casted this garbage on himself and pretty much single-handedly won the battle. fucking stupid.

No problem. Hope it helps out. If you have any troubles with it or it doesn't help as much as you'd like feel free to say so and I'll look more into it. Made this real quick so my testing was minimal.
